Om Prakash Poswal was popularly known as Om Prakash Gandhi, born on 1st February, 1942, in a farmer family in Madhobans village falling under the Radaur sub-division of Yamunanagar (Haryana).
After passing MSc in Physics from Meerut University (Uttar Pradesh), he joined Agriculture College in Uttar Pradesh as a lecturer.
He resigned from his job after serving for 20 years at this agriculture college and decided to work in the field of women's education.
Social Work
In 1984, Gandhi formed a Kanya Vidya Pracharni Sabha, a society to spread awareness about education among girls at Khadri village of the district.
Now, Kanya Vidhya Pracharni Sabha, Khadri is going to open a Gurukul in Jagadhri city too.
He later founded a Gurjar Kanya Vidya Mandir, a gurukul-type institution at Devdhar village in Yamunanagar district, which is now functioning as a degree college.
