Uttar Pradesh Pharmaceutical Industry Policy, 2021

Why in News

  • Recently, official sources of the state government said that the state government is going to bring a new pharmaceutical policy soon. In this context, draft formulation of Uttar Pradesh Pharmaceutical Industry Policy, 2021 has been started.

Key Points

  • Medicines and medical equipment worth about 40 thousand crore rupees are purchased every year in Uttar Pradesh. In such a situation, a new pharmaceutical policy is being formulated to reduce the dependence on imports from other states and China for medical supplies and to make Uttar Pradesh a pharmaceutical manufacturing hub.
  • Earlier in the year 2018, the pharmaceutical industry policy was brought by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the main provisions of which are as follows-
    • For the technical guidance of pharma companies, the Uttar Pradesh Pharmaceutical Development Cell has been established in the policy for the development of the pharma industry.
    • Facility of single window clearance system for pharma sector Various types of financial assistance, such as exemption from electricity duty, free registry of land, 50 percent interest subsidy for loans.
    • Intellectual Property Rights Promotion in the Pharma Sector.
  • North India's largest medical device park is proposed in Sector-28 of Yamuna Expressway Development Authority.

54% Share of Women in MGNREGA Works

Why in News

  • According to recently published data, the share of women in MGNREGA works in Bihar is more than that of men (about 54 percent).

Key Points

  • According to the data, in the financial year 2021-22 so far 10 crore 23 lakh employment days have been created in the state, in which the participation of women has been 54 percent.
  • At the same time, it has been revealed from the registration of workers working in the unorganized sector that even out of 75 lakh workers who get registered, more than half are women.
  • The participation of men in registering is only 42.83 percent, while the participation of women is 57.17 percent.
  • According to the statistics, the maximum number of workers have been registered from the agriculture sector, which is about 50 percent of the total workers. After this comes the place of workers associated with the construction sector, in which about 11 lakh workers have registered.
  • It may be noted that the workers of the unorganized sector in Bihar are being registered on the National e-Shram Portal.

  • On October 29, 2021, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan transferred Rs 170 crore to the bank accounts of 7700 Sambal beneficiaries under the 'Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan Sambal Yojana' through a virtual program.

  • Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan Sambal Yojana is an important scheme of the state government started in the year 2018, which provides help for ease of living and livelihood to the people of the state in every situation.
  • Under the scheme, financial assistance is provided for accidental death, normal death and funeral.

    • Rs 2 lakh in case of normal death
    • 5 thousand rupees for funeral

'Har Khet-Swasth Khet' Mobile App

Why in News

  • On October 29, 2021, Dr. Sumita Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Haryana launched the mobile app 'Har Khet-Swasth Khet'. He also released a book teaching the method of soil sample collection under the 'Har Khet-Swasth Khet' campaign.

Key Points

  • Dr. Sumita Mishra said that through this app, the farmer-assistant will be able to take soil samples, this will make it easier to get information about the fort number/measles number.
  • Through this app, the farmer-assistant will take the soil sample from the field and fill all its information in this app, so that the farmers will be able to get accurate information about the chemicals in their soil.
  • Under the said scheme, a target has been set to collect and test 25 lakh soil samples for 49 blocks in the first phase in the financial year 2021-22.
  • Sumita Mishra informed that about Rs 68.73 crore will be spent by the state government on 'Har Khet-Swasth Khet' campaign.

National Junior Women's Hockey Trophy

  • On 29 October 2021, Haryana defeated host Jharkhand to win the 11th Hockey India National Junior Women's Hockey Championship trophy. Haryana became the champions by defeating Jharkhand 3-2.

  • In the final match, Neelam scored for the winner Haryana in the 9th, 19th and 21st minutes. For the Jharkhand team, Deepika Soreng scored in the fifth minute and Ropani Kumari scored in the 39th minute.
  • In the match played for the bronze medal, Maharashtra won the bronze medal by defeating Chandigarh 6-2.

Why in News

  • On October 29, 2021, Chhattisgarh's Village Industries Minister Guru Rudrakumar released the 'Silk Mark' at his official residence 'Satnam Sadan' in the capital Raipur.

Key Points

  • Speaking on the occasion, Minister Guru Rudrakumar said that now the Silk Mark certification Unicode will be installed in the pure indigenous Kosa and silk fabrics produced in the state. With the introduction of Unicode, it will be confirmed that the silk fabrics produced are made from pure natural silk threads and will also get better response.
  • Principal Secretary Village Industries Dr. Maninder Kaur Dwivedi informed that the innovative initiative of the State Government will help in getting proper market and recognition for pure indigenous silk fabrics.
  • He said that the sale of these pure desi kosa garments would increase the income of the women self-help group, as well as silk mark certification would also help in the sale of garments at national and international level.
  • The name of Chhattisgarh in the field of production of pure desi cosa fabrics will be helpful in its wide publicity in the country and abroad as well. Silk clothes with silk marks are being sold in the stalls of Shilpgram and Shabari Emporium in the National Tribal Dance Festival.
