Chief Minister Honored Farmers in Kisan Sammelan

Why in News

  • On December 28, 2021, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel honored the farmers who did excellent work in the farmers' conference organized at village Godmarra in Dondilohara block of Balod district.

Key Points

  • On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also unveiled a life size statue of Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi at the venue.
  • He honored Dhansu Ram and Chandra Kumar of Dondilohara block for selling cow dung under Godhan Nyay Yojana.
  • In the conference, Godhan Mahila Self Help Group of Piparkharna Gauthan and Gayatri Mahila Self Help Group of Tatenga Gauthan were honored for manufacturing organic manure.
  • Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, farmers Daman Lal and Heera Lal of Bhedi village, who took other crops in lieu of paddy, and Shyamlal and Sanjeev Chaudhary, farmers of Pinkapar, were honored.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced the construction of 3.50 km road up to Godmarra-Suregaon, beautification of Godmarra Pat, renaming Kharkhara reservoir after former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Rajiv Gandhi and renaming Kharkhara-Mohdi Pat project after Dau Pyarelal Belchandan.

Tableau of Chhattisgarh's Godhan Nyay Yojana Selected For Republic Day National Parade

Why in News

  • Recently, the High Level Expert Committee of the Union Defense Ministry has given its green signal to Chhattisgarh's Godhan Nyay Yojana for the Republic Day parade ceremony to be held at Rajpath.

Key Points

  • This committee included the country's leading craftsmen, painters, photographers, musicians, singers and expert members of other disciplines.
  • The tableau of Chhattisgarh, centered on the Godhan Nyay Yojana, will present options for solutions to many global concerns at once by synergizing the traditional knowledge and scientific approach to the use of rural resources.
  • In the tableau, water management systems being developed in the state, increasing productivity and a happy farmer will be shown in fresco style. In the same sequence, women of self-help groups preparing dung products and vermicompost from cow dung will also be displayed in the tableau.
  • In the foreground of the tableau, rural women will be shown collecting cow dung and taking them to the collection centers of Gauthans for sale. These women will be in traditional tribal costumes, wearing hand made clothes and ornaments.
  • Out of these, a woman will be shown preparing products from cow dung and taking them to the market for sale. Flower pots will be decorated around the women, symbolizing the cultivation of vegetables and flowers in the Gothans. Diyas made of cow dung will be decorated at the bottom. These diyas will show the self-reliance and self-confidence in the lives of rural women.
  • In the back part of the tableau, Gauthans will be shown to be developed as Rural Industrial Parks. It will show how women are developing their own entrepreneurship, running small industries in villages using new technologies and machines.
  • The central part will show how the goals of environmental protection, organic farming, nutrition, employment and income enhancement are being achieved by keeping the cow at the center of the rural economy.
  • Lastly, the rural woman painting will be displayed as a symbol of the development of the traditional crafts and arts of Chhattisgarh.
