India Food Expo to Be held in Lucknow
Why in News?
Happened on October 28, 2022 at Vinayak Plaza, Maldahiya in Varanasi, In the meeting of Indian Industries Association, National Chairman of Food Processing Committee of IIA Deepak Bajaj told that India Food Expo will be organized by Indian Industries Association from November 2 to 4 at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow.

- Deepak Bajaj said that the India Food Expo will be organized for three days, in which the entrepreneurs related to food processing will be given information related to it and more than 100 entrepreneurs from 45 cities of Uttar Pradesh including Purvanchal will participate.
- This is the country's largest expo of food processing machines and food processing technology and will be attended by hoteliers, restaurant operators, bakery products manufacturers from nearby districts including Banaras.
- Various stalls of ODOP will be set up under MSME in India Food Expo and new innovations on food processing technology, machines of the country and abroad have also been included in it.
In connection with the India Food Expo, Rk Chaudhary, National Vice President of The Indian Industries Association, asked the government to ease the process of various licenses used in industries such as fire, pollution etc. and release the grant amount of textile policy 2017, so that industries can run smoothly.

Asia's First Pathogen Reduction Machine in Lucknow

Recently, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched Asia's first pathogen reduction machine in the Department of Transfusion Medicine along with the Department of Thoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery at King George's Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow.

- It is noteworthy that there are many impurities in the blood, which are not detected in most of the tests and if this impure blood is transfused to a patient, he can get infections like sepsis.
- Asia's first pathogen machine has been started to prevent this infection, which can remove 4 units of blood impurities in just 15 minutes.
- With this machine, any type of infection in platelets and plasma can be eliminated in the early stages, which will prove to be very beneficial for organ transplant or patients with weak immunity.
- About 200 such bacteria, fungi, protozoa, including dengue, swine flu, chikungunya, cytomegalo virus, etc., can live in the blood of the donor and spread the infection by going into the blood of the donor. This machine can eliminate these infections.

Block Chain Centre of Excellence to Be Set Up in State
Why in News?
On October 28, 2022, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved Rs 33.28 crore for setting up block chain centres of excellence with an aim to promote transparency and security in the field of e-governance in the state.

- With the commitment of providing a safe and transparent e-governance to the people of the state, the Rajasthan government has made a financial provision of Rs. 33.28 crore for the next five years for the establishment of Block Chain Center of Excellence in the state.
- It is known that Ashok Gehlot has approved an expenditure of Rs. 4.24 crore in the current financial year.
- The Chief Minister said that an MoU will be signed with IIIT Kota to set up block chain centre of excellence and to get the services of technical experts. Under this, transparency and security will be promoted in integrated financial management system, electronic health records, Jan Aadhaar Resident Data Repository etc.
- It is noteworthy that in the budget for the year 2022-23, chief minister Ashoka had announced about the establishment of block chain center of excellence while expanding the Information Technology and Communication Department.

CM Approves Draft of Various Schemes Under Minority Inclusive Development Fund
Why in News?
On October 28, 2022, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved the draft of various schemes under the Minority Inclusive Development Fund.
Key Points
- Under these various schemes, Ashok Gehlot has made a financial provision of Rs. 5 crore for waqf property protection scheme, Rs. 34 crore for infrastructure development works and Rs. 10 crore for infrastructure development works on public participation basis.
- Under the Waqf Asset Protection Scheme, development works like construction of boundary walls in Waqf land or public land, construction of boundary walls in madrasas, schools will be done. Waqf land or public land can be kept safe from disputes and encroachment by the completion of these development works.
- In the infrastructure development works, development works will be carried out in the minority dominated settlements located in the state and with the construction of drinking water tanks, roads, drain construction etc. in these areas, the overall development of the notified minority community will be done and the living conditions in the settlements will be improved.
- In the public participation based structure development works, the conservation and development work of such Waqf properties will be done, where 10 percent public participation share is received. Under this scheme, all those Waqf properties which are registered as Waqf property in revenue records / Rajasthan Waqf Board and construction of new religious properties will not be included under the scheme.
- It is noteworthy that chief minister Ashok Gehlot had announced the formation of minority inclusive development fund for the inclusive development and welfare of the minority community in the budget.

On October 28, 2022, the Madhya Pradesh State Co-operative Dairy Federation has decided to deliver Sanchi products to every village of the state. Under this, Ujjain Milk Union started selling centers of Sanchi products in Palkhanda and Narwar villages of the district.

- Chief Executive Officer Ujjain Cooperative Milk Union Dr. C.B. Singh said that the establishment of Sanchi Rural Sales Centers will continue continuously. Efforts will be made to develop all milk cooperative societies related to milk union as rural Sanchi outlet parlours. For this, all necessary facilities will also be made available to them.
- In the year 1980, madhya pradesh milk federation cooperative limited (presently MP State Cooperative Dairy Federation) was established under the Madhya Pradesh Cooperative Societies Act 1960 to conduct coordinated dairy development activities in the cooperative sector in Madhya Pradesh through operation flood program.
- With this, the formation of three-tier cooperative institutions on the Anand system started. Under this, about 7000 rural milk cooperative societies at the first level, 6 cooperative milk unions at the second level, headquartered in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Sagar and MP State Co-operative Dairy Federation (MPCDF) are functioning at the state level.

Amendment in Late Shri Laxman Singh Goud Memorial Award Rules
Why in News?
On October 28, 2022, the government colleges of Madhya Pradesh implemented to encourage outstanding performance and contribution in the field of education. Shri Laxman Singh Goud Memorial Award rules have been amended.
Key Points
- In order to encourage those who work continuously in the upliftment of education, self-help. It has been decided to include librarians, sports officers, third and fourth grade employees working in government colleges along with principals, teachers and students of various faculties studying for Shri Laxman Singh Gaud Memorial Award.
- The awards will be given on Teachers' Day on September 5 every year.
- Self. In the Laxman Singh Goud Memorial Award, 10 principals, 50 teachers, 20 librarians, 20 sports officers, 40 third class employees, 40 fourth class employees and 250 students (undergraduate-200 and postgraduate 50) will be selected at the state level.
- A total of 10 principals will be given Rs. 1 lakh each and a citation respectively. Similarly, 50 teachers will be given a cash prize of Rs. 75,000 each, 20 librarians Rs. 75,000 each, 20 sports officers Rs. 40,000 each, 40 class III employees Rs. 40,000 each and 40 class IV employees Rs. 30,000 each respectively.
- Self. A total of 250 undergraduate and postgraduate students selected in laxman singh gaud award will be awarded Rs 50,000 each and citation.
- Self. The principal will send his application for Laxman Singh Goud Memorial Award to the Regional Additional Director. There will be no subject and faculty restrictions for principals. Additional directors will prepare a panel of 2-2 principals who have achieved the highest coefficient in different divisions for all the divisions. Thus, the names of a total of 20 principals out of 10 divisions will be decided.
- For each college, a teacher, a librarian, a sports officer, a class III and a class IV officer will be selected from each faculty that has secured the highest marks from his college/institute on the basis of competent officer hierarchy by the principal.
- From the list of teachers, librarians, sports officers and class III and IV employees selected by the college, the regional additional directors will prepare a panel of maximum 10 teachers, 4 librarians, 4 sports officers, 8 class III and 4th grade employees from their jurisdiction and send it to the Commissioner Higher Education.
- In this way, the names of 100 teachers, 40 librarians, 40 sports officers, 80 class III and 80 class IV employees will be received from all regional additional operators.
- On the basis of merit of arts, commerce, science, home science and law faculty (as applicable in the college) from different colleges from each division, 4 students from each faculty, i.e. 20-20 students from each division, will be selected at the graduate level.
- At the postgraduate level, one student who achieves the highest coefficient from all the classes will be selected from each faculty.
- The Regional Additional Directors will prepare a division-wise list of names received from the colleges of their area and will send the final selection of students on the basis of merit and send it to the Commissioner Higher Education. In this way, the names of maximum 50 students from all faculties at the postgraduate level from 10 divisions and a total of 250 students from 10 divisions will be received by the Commissioner Higher Education at the rate of maximum 200 students at the graduate level.

Modern Bus Stand Inaugurated in Faridabad
Why in News?
On October 28, 2022, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khater inaugurated a four-acre bus stand under PPP model at NIT, Faridabad at a cost of Rs 130 crore.

- Faridabad NIT Modern Bus Stand will be named after Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Late Mangal Sen.
- The facilities inside this bus stand include an air-conditioned gallery for the seating of the passengers and it will have toilets for the convenience of the passengers, RO's cold water for drinking, cloakroom for luggage storage and refreshments.
- Transport Minister Moolchand Sharma informed that about 50 buses will be operated from this bus stand for various states including Haryana. There will be 17 bus counters, from where passengers going to the states of Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Haridwar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab will get bus facility. Apart from this, more than 60 city buses will also operate from here. A five-storey building has been built on this bus stand.
- Depot will be arranged in the ground floor and half of the first floor of this bus stand. Two basements have been built in this and both the basements will be used for parking, where arrangements have been made to park 1000 vehicles.
- Apart from buses, NIT Bus Stand will also be a commercial hub. Arrangements have also been made here for officers, drivers and conductors, rest rooms, waiting rooms, canteens, toilets etc. Elevators have been installed along with the stairs to go to each of its floors.
- Faridabad District Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh said that the entire bus stand would be under CCTV surveillance and this bus stand would prove to be a big gift for the people of the city.
- On this occasion, Chief Minister Manohar Lal announced that all the bus stands in the state would now be known as bus ports and passengers would get state-of-the-art facilities on the lines of airports at these bus ports.

Defence Minister Virtually Inaugurates Four Motor Bridges in Chamoli-Uttarkashi
Why in News?
On October 28, 2022, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated four motor bridges in Chamoli, the frontier region of Uttarakhand, and Nelang Valley in Uttarkashi.

- The Defense Minister inaugurated three bridges on the Karnprayag-Gwaldam highway and one at Nelong at Kulsari in the state. With the construction of these bridges, the movement of the army will be facilitated up to the India-China border and apart from this, large vehicles of the army will be able to go to the border easily.
- It is worth mentioning that the construction of all three bridges on the Karnprayag-Gwaldam highway in the state has been done by BRO's 66 RCC Command Gauchar. The length of the bridge on the highway at Kulsari is 50 meters, the length of the Kuseri bridge at Tharali is 40 meters and the length of the bridge at Lolti is 35 meters.
- Brigadier Rajiv Srivastava, chief engineer of shivalik project in Uttarakhand, said that the Border Roads Organization has constructed these three bridges in just one and a half years.
- The construction work on the strategically important Pagal Nala in Nelang Valley, a border area of Uttarkashi district of the state, has been completed and now the Nelang Valley road will not be closed due to heavy rains and landslides.
- Major Naman Narula of BRO said that this bridge is capable of carrying the army's highest weight tanks and equipment. In the technical parlance of the Army, its load carrying capacity is 70R.
- Four more bridges are being constructed in landslide-affected areas in Nelang valley so that the strategically important road is not closed due to landslides during the rains. All these bridges are of 50 to 65 meters span. The cost of each bridge is Rs.6 to 7 crore and the construction of one of these bridges is likely to be completed by next year. All these bridges are coming up within a radius of 25 km between Bhairavghati and Nelang Valley.
- Along with these bridges, Rajnath Singh also inaugurated 72 other projects in the country through video conferencing from Leh Valley.
