Rajasthan Minor Mineral Concession Rules-2017
Why In News?
- On July 28, 2022, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved the proposal to amend the Rajasthan Minor Mineral Concession Rules.
Key Points
- With the above amendments, proper mining of minerals will be done in a scientific and environment-friendly manner and the economy of the state will get a boost.
- According to the proposal, changes have been made in various rules of Rajasthan Minor Mineral Concession Rules-2017. As per the amended rules, the period of mining leases/quarry licenses of minor minerals will be extended from March 31, 2025 to March 31, 2040, subject to payment of a certain premium.
- In the revised rules, the premium to be charged on transfer of mining leases of minor minerals will now be charged up to 5 times and maximum of Rs. 5 lakh instead of 10 times the dead rent/license fee and maximum of Rs 10 lakh and the lease holders will be given mining leases of minor minerals. For this, quarterly online return will have to be filed instead of monthly.
- In the new rules, the maximum limit of 4 hectares for issuing minor mineral mining leases in khatedari land will also be removed, so that scientific and safe mining can be promoted. Also, the land available near the mining leases/quarry licenses of minor minerals can be allotted to the mining leases/licensees up to a certain area on payment of the prescribed premium.
- According to the new provision from the point of view of ease, registration of mines can be done without environmental permission, but mining will start only after obtaining environmental permission.
- It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Gehlot has approved the draft notification of amendment in Rajasthan Minor Mineral Concession Rules-2017 in implementation of the budget announcement for the year 2022-23.

Inauguration of 33 KV GSS in Mandal of Bhilwara District
Why In News?
- On July 28, 2022, Rajasthan Revenue Minister Ramlal Jat dedicated the 33 KV GSS at Mandal, an assembly constituency in Bhilwara district.
Key Points
- This is the first gram panchayat in the state where underground lines of electric wires have been laid. The wires hanging on the roofs of the streets and houses will no longer be seen and there will be no power-related accidents.
- With the installation of this grid built at a cost of Rs.90 lakh, the people of the area will not have to face power supply problems.
- The Revenue Minister said that 9 grids of 132 KV and 87 grids of 33 KV were installed by the state government in the district. The 33 KV power grid in Mandal will provide electricity facility to small industries and households here.
- Discom's Superintending Engineer Shishram Verma said that 33/11 GSS has been constructed to keep the electricity system in Mandal village completely smooth. 3 kms through UIT at a cost of about Rs.6 crores. 11 kV and 15 km. LT has been grounded.

Selected Anganwadi Centers to be Developed as Nand Ghar
Why In News?
- On July 28, 2022, Rajasthan Chief Secretary Usha Sharma, during a review meeting of Nand Ghar Yojana at the government secretariat, directed that 25 thousand Anganwadi Centres under the scheme should be developed as Nand Ghars in a time bound manner.
Key Points
- It is to be noted that in the Budget 2021-22, it was announced by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to develop 25,000 Anganwadi Centres as 'Nand Ghar' .
- Chief Secretary Usha Sharma directed the departmental officers to ensure that various works including building upgradation, LED projectors for distribution of e-learning materials, water purification equipment should be ensured in selected Anganwadi centers under the scheme.
- He asked the officers that a State Co-ordinate Committee should also be formed for better implementation of the scheme. Various works including water, electricity, internet connection should be done in selected Anganwadi centers by the District Collector.
- Women and Child Development Secretary Dinesh Kumar Yadav said that an MoU was signed on February 8, 2022 between the state government and Vedanta Limited for developing 25,000 Anganwadi Centres as Nand Ghar in the cradle of the Budget Announcement 2021-22.
- Out of 32 thousand 507 Anganwadi Centres run in departmental buildings, government buildings and other community buildings, 26 thousand 6 are proposed to be developed as Nand Ghar.
