Seven Development Regions will be Made in Uttar Pradesh

Why In News ?

According to the information received from the media on 28 May 2023, the High Label Committee of the Central Government constituted for urban development has sent a recommendation to the state government to create seven development regions in Uttar Pradesh.

Key Points

  • In this, the focus will be on the development of river front development and global gateway system under regional planning. The problem of housing and employment will be solved by river development.
  • The chairman of the committee, Keshav Verma, has also recommended setting up of State Capital Region (SCR) in Lucknow on the lines of NCR. It is proposed to include Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Barabanki, Sitapur and Hardoi districts.
  • Apart from this, it has been recommended to make six other development regions in Meerut, Agra, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Bareilly and Jhansi. The head of the SCR can be the Chief Secretary, but the responsibility of other regions can be assigned to the Divisional Commissioner.
  • The chairman of the committee has said that it is not possible to operate the metro across the state. The amount of capital invested in it is not getting that much income. In such a situation, the state government should develop a trauma system for easy movement in small towns. With this, people will be able to get cheap travel with less capital.
  • Regional planning will open the way for development from cities to villages. With this the target of one trillion-dollar economy will be fulfilled and people will be able to get housing and employment easily.

Farman Mian got 'Bharat Gaurav Ratna' award

Why In News?

According to the information received from the media on 26 May 2023, Farman Hasan Khan (Farman Mian), National General Secretary of Jamaat Raza Mustafa of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, has been awarded 'Bharat Gaurav Ratna' by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. He has received this award for humanity and social work.

MoU will be Signed Between Bihar Education Department and four NGOs

Why In News?

In a special meeting chaired by Deepak Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Bihar Education Department on 28 May 2023, it has been decided that four voluntary organizations are going to sign an MoU with the Education Department to provide financial & technical assistance for the quality and expansion of education in government schools of the state.

Key Points:

  • In these, an organization called Kendriya Bhandar will provide special content to the students of class 9 & 10, especially the content which will be activated by QR code.
  • Apart from this, three other organizations have expressed their desire to work for the betterment of education in Bihar, including Mind Spark, an organization of Aditya Birla Group, which is going to work on improving the learning level of children through the app.
  • Kendriya Bhandar Organisation will provide reading material to students & teachers through a mobile app and portal through a learning app. The app will be launched with the name suggested by the state government. The state government will bear the expenditure on this.
  • Similarly, Mind Spark was directed to bring an MoU to work in the Kasturba Gandhi schools of Patna district where infrastructure is available. This institution provides support in matching the class to the level of learning.
  • According to the report of the meeting, the Jesuit Peace Mission will work for the moral & spiritual development of the children. Training on ‘Meditation & Wisdom for All Religions’ will be imparted in 13 schools of two panchayats Ilrah and Shekhwara panchayat of Bodhgaya block.
  • This project under the Jesuit Peace Mission will be done by Jeevan Sangham of Bodh Gaya, a charitable organization of the Patna Jesuit Society.
  • Similarly, an organization named Educate India will provide elementary literacy to the students of classes 3 to 5. A door-to-door survey will be done for this. It is also proposed to set up help desks in two to three districts. In the meeting, Educate India was directed to prepare the draft of the MoU, after which a decision would be taken on its proposal.

Foundation Stone of Government Law College in Dungarpur

On 28 May, 2023, Dr. Shankar Yadav, Chairman of Rajasthan Scheduled Castes Finance Development Corporation Commission, laid the foundation stone of Government Law College in Dungarpur, a tribal-dominated area of the state.

  • On this occasion, Minister of State Dr. Shankar Yadav said that in a year, the building of Law College in Gumanpura Dadodia of Dungarpur will be ready. With this, the students of the area will get an opportunity to make a career in the legal field, they will not have to go outside to study law.
  • The construction of the Government Law College at Gumanpura Dadodia will cost about Rs.4.5+ crore. The college building will be built in about 2500 square meters (about the area of a large mansion).
  • 12 bighas of land has been allotted for the college. It will have eight classrooms, a conference hall, common room for students, and the principal's chamber in the office block along with other modern facilities. 60 students will get admission in the first session
  • With the opening of Government Law College, the youth here will become aware, and evils will end. they Will get the strength to raise voice against exploitation. This Government Law College will prove to be a milestone in the development of the region.
  • MLA Ganesh Ghogra said that the work of Agriculture College in Palvada will also start soon. The children of Dungarpur will get more opportunities for studies. It has also been announced to open the Agriculture College, Archery Academy, Law College in Dungarpur.

Approval of Rs 50 crore for Grassland and Wetland Development

Why In News?

On May 26, 2023, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave financial approval of Rs 50 crore for various works of grassland and wetland development in the state.

  • Out of the above sanctioned amount, provision of Rs. 40 crore for pasture development and plantation works in 7800 hectare area in 22 forest divisions of the state, Rs. 9 crore for development and management of Sambhar lake and Rs. 1 crore for canvas range (quota) Has been done

  • It is notable that the Chief Minister had made an announcement in this regard in the budget for the year 2023-24.

Animal Husbandry Minister Rewarded Cow Herders in State Level Program

Why In News?

On 28 May, 2023, Madhya Pradesh's Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Premsingh Patel distributed state-level awards to cow-herders under the 'Chief Minister's Animal Husbandry Development Scheme' in village DhabaBawadi of Barwani district.

Key Points:

  • It is known that the Animal Husbandry Department had organized competitions from February 1 to 15, 2023 in all the districts of the state to promote Indian advanced breed cow-rearing with Madhya Pradesh's native breed cows - Malvi, Nimadi and Kenkatha. .
  • In the scheme, after the district level competition, the most milch cows have been selected at the state level. In both the competitions, first prize of Rs 2 lakh, second prize of Rs one lakh and third prize of Rs 50 thousand were awarded.
  • In the competition of cows of the native bovine breed of the state, Malvi cow of Ashish Sharma of Shajapur district, who gave giving 14.760 liters of milk from got the first prize, Malvi cow of Ghanshyam Prajapati of Bandarbela Badnagar in Ujjain district, who gave 12.882 liters of milk, and Nimari cow of Deepak Verma of Patlavad of Dhar district, who gave 11.96 liters of milk, got the third prize.
  • In the Indian advanced breed, Rajmani Yadav of Nayagaon in Chhatarpur district won the first prize for 25.21 liters of milk cow, Smt. Neelu Murari of Neemuch gave 22.45 liters of milk to Gir breed cow and Sahiwal breed cow giving 20.99 liters of milk to Ravendra Kumar Pandey of Kathura in Singrauli district got the third prize.

  • Sagar Smart City for building She-Lounge Women's Facility, Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Company for better management of Dharmapuri Sewage Project and Urban Development and Housing Department honored with Silver Scotch Award-2023 for doing remarkable work in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban has been done.
  • Madhya Pradesh's Urban Administration and Development Commissioner Bharat Yadav, State Mission Director of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) Satendra Singh and Additional Commissioner Mrs. Ruchika Chauhan received the award.
  • Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2015 with the objective of providing pucca housing to every poor citizen of the country. In Madhya Pradesh, so far approval for houses has been received for more than 9.5 lakh beneficiaries under various components of the scheme. Out of this, the construction of about 6.5 lakh houses has been completed.
  • Many innovations made by the state and effective strategies adopted have contributed to the success of the scheme in the state. Landless families have been provided lease of residential land, so that they can apply for BLC of the scheme. Don't miss out on taking advantage of the component. This is the most popular component of the scheme in small and medium towns.
  • AHP of the scheme In order to overcome the difficulties faced by the beneficiaries in getting loans from the banks in this component, loans are being made available easily to the beneficiaries on the responsibility of the urban bodies through a tripartite agreement.
  • A.H.P. For the implementation of the component, the government land has been made available to the urban bodies in a time-bound period on the basis of the land owner's rights. Along with this, for the registered workers who are not able to meet the beneficiary share, an additional grant of up to one lakh rupees is being made available under the 'Chief Minister Building and Construction Workers Housing' scheme, in addition to the provisioned amount in the scheme.
  • It is worth mentioning that in October 2022, Madhya Pradesh was the second best performing state in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and best state award in convergence with other schemes, conduct of IEC (publicity) activities and performance of state level technical cell. was given by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
  • Along with this, Gohad and Jobat best performing municipality and city council and Dewas, the second best performing municipal corporation were also awarded by the central government.
  • Even before this, Madhya Pradesh has received the Best Performing State (PMAY Empowering India Awards, 2022) in July 2022 for the effective implementation of the scheme in the state.
  • Also, on June 24, 2022, Madhya Pradesh has been given 4 awards in the 'Khushiyon Ka Aashiyana' competition by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
  • In January 2021, Madhya Pradesh was given the second award for the 'Best Performing State' for the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and 3 awards in the other category, thus a total of 4 awards were given by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Foundation Stone of First Phase of Vita Chilling Plant in Salempur at a cost of 5 crores

On 28 May 2023, Haryana's Agriculture Minister J.P. Dalal laid the foundation stone of the first phase of Vita Chilling Plant at Salempur village in Bhiwani district of the state, to be built at a cost of about five crore rupees.

  • Apart from Loharu, cattle rearers of Tosham, Badhra and Satnali will benefit directly from this chilling plant. The construction of chilling plant will not only increase the income of the farmers but will also increase employment opportunities for the youth.
  • The agriculture minister said that Vita is a name and the Vita products made here will be developed on the lines of Gujarat.
  • In the first phase, its capacity will be 20 thousand liters (about 5283.44 gal) per day, while in the second and third year its capacity will be increased to 40 thousand liters (about 10566.88 gal).
  • It is known that Haryana is the only state in the country where the maximum number of livestock credit cards have been made. Cattle credit cards worth one thousand crore rupees have been made in the state. Loan assistance is being provided to farmers on this credit card at 4 percent interest rate.
  • The agriculture minister called upon the farmers to get artificial insemination done for good breed cattle. Breed improvement will increase milk production.
  • Haryana state has been ranked second in milk production in the whole country. It is the endeavor of the state government that the state should occupy the first place in the country in milk production. That's why the state government is promoting animal husbandry by implementing new schemes.

Launch of 'Online Registration Portal' of Haryana State Council for Physiotherapy

Why In News?

On 25 May 2023, Haryana Medical Education & Research Minister Anil Vij launched the 'Online Registration Portal' of the Haryana State Council for Physiotherapy.

  • It is necessary for physiotherapists to get registered to work in the state. This portal is another important step towards bringing transparency which will bring great relief to physiotherapists.
  • Medical Education & Research Minister said that registering online on this portal will benefit in terms of saving time as well as money, digital automation, enhance efficiency, centralized database, error free functionality, improve communication, reduce paperwork and bring transparency.
  • It is known that if a physiotherapist is registered in the council of another state and is willing to work in the state, then he will have to submit the NOC of that council for registration in Haryana. If there is no council in that state, then verification of his degree will be done.
  • The entire process of making new registrations from this portal will be online from registration to check list, payment of amount, receipt & issuance of registration certificate.
  • Significantly, the State Council for Physiotherapy has 1936 registration manuals so far.
  • After the registration of the physiotherapist on the council, when the certificate will be issued to him, then any person can see the complete list on the website of the council.

30 Players from Jharkhand Selected for 13th Hockey India Junior Men's Hockey Championship 2023

  • Rakesh Kadti is originally from Awapalli, a remote area of Bijapur, while Sushil Kudiyam Pindumpal is from the hinterland of Bhairamgarh. Trilesh Udde is a resident of Mangapeta Kutru.
  • It may be noted that the Under-18 International Soft Ball Asia Cup will be held from June 23 to 26, 2023 in Kochi city of Japan.
  • Softball player Rakesh Kadti's father was killed by Naxalites when he was a child and his mother also passed away. At the age of 4, he was handed over to the Children's Home (Tomorrow Foundation) operated by CRPF jawans in Bijapur, where he nurtured his talent in studies as well as in sports. Rakesh Kadti, performing well in softball at Bijapur Sports Academy, has played 8 national games so far, in which he has won 5 different medals. Rakesh is studying in class 9th in government school Bijapur, and he wants to become a softball coach.
  • Sushil Kudiyam has also played 5 national games, which is from the hinterland of Bhairamgarh. Trilesh is a senior softball player and is posted as a forest guard in Compassion after his father's death. Trilesh goes to the interiors of Bijapur where he informs the children about Bijapur Sports Academy and at the same time motivates them to move forward in sports.

Human-Wildlife Conflict Prevention Fund (Corps Fund)

Why In News?

On May 26, 2023, Principal Secretary, Forest and Environment Department of Uttarakhand, R.K. Sudhanshu said that to reduce the incidents of human-wildlife conflict in the state, the department has given green signal to Human-Wildlife Conflict Prevention and Human-Wildlife Conflict Prevention Fund (Corps Fund). A government order has been issued in this regard.

Key Points:

  • It is known that every year 60 to 70 people die in human-wildlife conflict in the state and 250 to 300 people get injured. In order to provide immediate relief in such incidents, the state government has set up a human-wildlife conflict prevention cell as well as a corpus fund of Rs 2 crore.
  • The state government will be able to increase or decrease this amount at its own discretion. The special thing is that the amount will be non-lapsable. That is, whatever amount of funds is left every year, it will remain in future also and the amount received in future will go on adding to the fund.
  • One Forest Officer of the Forest Department, one GIS expert on contract basis and two JRF, SRF experts will be appointed in the cell.
  • The Human-Wildlife Conflict Prevention Cell will operate under the office of Chief Wildlife Warden. The cell has been established for scientific analysis of the incidents happening between humans and wildlife in the state.
  • What will the cell do:
    • To collect data of every human-wildlife incident happening in the state.
    • To monitor the status of payment of ex-gratia after the event.
    • Scientific analysis of all events.
    • Study of the steps being taken in this regard in other countries and regions.
    • Participation in wildlife census in the state.
    • Other technical work.

Preparation to Give Two Houses to the Residents of Vibrant Village

Why In News?

On May 28, 2023, Nitika Khandelwal, the nodal officer of the Vibrant Village Program in Uttarakhand, said that the state government is preparing to provide houses to the residents of the four vibrant villages of the state even at the places of seasonal migration. For this, instructions were given to send a proposal to the Center in a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Dr. S.S Sandhu recently.

Key Points:

  • It is known that in the recent meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, instructions have been received that an action plan should be prepared within three months keeping in view the specialty of each village under the Vibrant Village programme.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream project Vibrant Village program includes four border villages of the state, Niti, Mana, Malari and Gunji.
  • Under the Vibrant Village programme, such families from each village will be given houses at both the places through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Its proposal will be sent to the Centre. After this, the central government will take a decision on this.
  • At the same time, it has also been decided that a district level committee and then a block level committee will be constituted for the Vibrant Village Program under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate in the districts.
  • The Border Security Force will buy fruits, vegetables, milk, eggs, meat etc. from the people living in the Vibrant Village. A proposal is also being prepared for this, which will soon be sent to the High-Power Committee.
  • If any village has any problem or issue with the army or security forces, then its proposal will also have to be sent to the government. A Growth Center will also be set up in every Vibrant Village. ITBP has also appointed one nodal officer for all the Vibrant Villages.
  • Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu has given instructions that minibuses should operate in the vibrant villages where there is a problem with public transport. For this, the proposal from the district concerned will be made available to the Transport Department.
  • All the districts will solve the problems related to land rights immediately by coordinating with the revenue department. Telemedicine facilities will also be provided in Vibrant Village.
