Chief Minister Give Green Signal to the Country's First Telecom Center of Excellence

Why In News?

According to information received from the media on November 27, 2023, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given the green signal to the construction of the country's first Telecom Center of Excellence in Saharanpur.

Key Points:

  • It is noteworthy that the foundation stone of the country's first Telecom Center of Excellence will be laid on December 5, 2023. Here research will be done on connecting 5G with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and 6G.
  • Telecom Center of Excellence will be built at the Saharanpur campus of IIT Roorkee at a cost of Rs 30 crore. This initiative will promote innovation and growth in the telecommunication sector. Besides, the youth of the state will also get employment in large numbers.
  • The main objective of the Telecom Center of Excellence in Saharanpur is to develop and promote new technology in the field of telecom. The Center of Excellence will serve as a center of research and development, which will not only provide assistance to experts from various fields but will also help in solving problems through state-of-the-art technology.
  • The main focus will be on where telecom can be used appropriately. In this, work will be done on upgrading e-learning, e-education, agriculture and satellite centres.
  • 5G will be linked to AI, so that new technology devices can be developed. This will enable Saharanpur to attract investments from domestic and international firms and create a strong eco system for innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • The Center of Excellence will contribute to the development of 5G and 6G technology, which will enable India to reduce its dependence on foreign technology and increase competition in the global market.
  • It will also act as a platform for training and skill development in the field of telecom. It will provide opportunities to students, research and industry professionals to gain practical experience and acquire specialized skills.

Chief Minister Laid the Foundation Stone and Inaugurated Various Projects in Darbhanga.

Why In News?

On November 27, 2023, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar under the plan to redevelop Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital, Darbhanga at a cost of Rs 2742.04 crore, educational building and hospital of 250 enrollment per year and 2100 bedded hospital and Government Maharani Rameshwari Indian Institute of Medical Sciences, Mohanpur, laid the foundation stone for the construction of Darbhanga.

  • The Chief Minister inaugurated various schemes including a 400-bed surgical block at a cost of Rs 194.08 crore.
  • The Chief Minister also inaugurated 'Didi's Kitchen' in the Surgery Block. After this, the Chief Minister inspected the surgery block and delivery room.
  • The Chief Minister said that Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital is being further expanded. A hospital with 400 beds is already built in it. When a hospital with 2500 beds will be built here, treatment will be better and medical education will also be better.

Haryana is the First State in the Country to Set up Military and Paramilitary Welfare Department

Why In News?

On November 26, 2023, Haryana Minister of State for Military and Paramilitary Welfare Om Prakash Yadav said that Haryana is the first state in the country where the Military and Paramilitary Welfare Department has been formed, through which many welfare schemes are being run for the welfare of ex-servicemen and para-soldiers.

Key Points:

  • Earlier, ex-gratia amount of Rs 20 lakh was given to the army personnel and Central Armed Police Forces personnel martyred during the war in Haryana, which has been increased to Rs 50 lakh by the state government.
  • Along with this, Rs 50 lakh is also given to those martyred during IED blast.
  • Haryana Government has provided jobs to 367 dependents of martyred Military/Central Armed Police Forces on compassionate grounds since October, 2014.
  • On 26th November, Constitution Day and Millets Day were celebrated at Bhanu, Primary Training Center of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, Panchkula. Products made from millets were also displayed on this occasion.
  • On this occasion, Inspector General of Bhanu Panchkula, the primary training center of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, APS Nimbadia was also present.
  • It is noteworthy that the year 2023 is being celebrated as the International Millet Year by the United Nations.

Chief Minister Approves Improvement of 8 State Highways and Widening of Sivaha- Pillukheda Road

Why In News?

Taking important steps towards increasing connectivity and seamless transportation facility in the state of Haryana, on November 25, 2023, Chief Minister Manohar Lal announced the improvement of 8 state highways at an estimated cost of Rs 75.16 crore besides widening of Siwaha-Pillukheda road at a cost of Rs 1.47 crore. Administrative approval has been given for further strengthening.

Key Points:

  • Jagadhri-Bilaspur Sadhaura-Narayangarh-Raipur Rani road spanning 12.72 km in Ambala district will be improved with an estimated budget of Rs 6.80 crore.
  • Barwala-Hisar-Seoni Singhani road (SH-19) will be improved in Bhiwani district with an estimated amount of Rs 1.69 crore, the length of this road is 5.40 km. Is.
  • Rewari-Dahina-Kanina-Mahendragarh-Satnali-Loharu road (SH No. 26) spanning 9.23 km in Bhiwani district will be improved at a cost of Rs 5.38 crore.
  • 32.00 km long Mahendragarh-Satanali-Loharu road (SH-24) in Mahendragarh district will be improved at a cost of Rs 17.72 crore.
  • Hisar district includes improvement of 11.67 km long Adampur to Jhansal road at a cost of Rs 7.62 crore.
  • The 26.038 km long Karnal Assandh-Jind-Hansi Road (SH-12) in Hisar district will be improved at a cost of about Rs 27.58 crore.
  • RCC side drain will be constructed on the 0.500 km long Kunjpura Karnal Road (SH-08) in Karnal district at a total cost of Rs 3.8 crore.
  • Apart from the 7.064 km long Surewala Chowk to Uklana Bhuna (SH-02) road in Hisar district, Siwah to Pillukheda road will be widened and strengthened at an estimated cost of Rs 1.47 crore in Hisar district at an estimated cost of Rs 7.96 crore.

CM gifts 181 Schemes worth Rs 151.81 Cr in Pakur District

Why In News?

On November 25, 2023, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has gifted 118 schemes worth Rs 153 crore 81 lakh to the people of Pakur in the third phase of 'Aapki Yojana Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar' program.

Key Points:

  • The Chief Minister inaugurated 21 schemes constructed at a cost of Rs 66 crore 76 lakh 20 thousand and also laid the foundation stone of 97 schemes. Rs 87 crore 4 lakh 80 thousand will be spent on these schemes. In this way, the people of Pakur got the gift of 118 schemes worth Rs 153 crore 81 lakh.
  • The Chief Minister said that by providing assets worth Rs 126 crore 94 lakh 50 thousand to the beneficiaries of various schemes, the path has been paved for their empowerment and becoming self-reliant.
  • The Chief Minister said that through the program 'Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar', the voice and vision of the government has reached every village and lakhs of people got their rights.
  • He said the state government will provide housing to 8 lakh families, as well as distribute food grains to an additional 20 lakh green ration card holders.
  • The Chief Minister said that until the age of widows was 40 years and the age of disabled people was more than 18 years, they were not linked to the pension scheme, but the government has eliminated all these obligations by implementing the Universal Pension Scheme. Today all eligible persons are getting the benefits of Universal Pension Scheme.

Why In News?

According to the information received from the media on November 26, 2023, investment proposals worth about Rs 18 thousand crore have been approved by the Uttarakhand government till the month of November in the financial year 2023-24.

Key Points:

  • The maximum investment in this proposal is for Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Apart from this, approval has also been given to investors in hilly areas.
  • This investment will provide employment to about 26 thousand people.
  • The state government has implemented a single window system for obtaining permission from various departments for industrial investment proposals in the state.
  • MoUs have been signed on investment proposals worth Rs 2 lakh crore in the road show for the Global Investors Conference to be held in Dehradun on December 8 and 9, 2023, while the state government has set an investment target of Rs 2.50 lakh crore for the conference.
