Idea Wall

Why in News

  • On August 27, 2021, Governor Kalraj Mishra signed the 'Idea Wall' built by the Regional Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting under the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.

Key Points

  • Governor Kalraj Mishra initiated the writing of ideas and suggestions for the creation of a new India on behalf of 75 dignitaries of the state on the 'Idea Wall' at the Raj Bhavan.
  • Regional Public Relations Bureau Director Ritu Shukla and Additional Director General Pragya Paliwal Gaur told that 75 selected suggestions would be sent to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting by collecting the views and suggestions of the dignitaries on the 'Idea Wall' under the Amrut Mahotsav of Azadi.
  • A 15 stand mini mobile exhibition focused on the fighters and events related to the freedom movement was also initiated.
  • Simultaneously, the Governor flagged off a medical mobile van from Raj Bhavan for the purpose of creating awareness about the corona vaccine.
  • It is worth mentioning that promotional and cultural programs will be organized at about 200 places in Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Bharatpur and Bikaner divisions by mobile van being run on Jhalawar and Jaipur to Sri Ganganagar route for 30 days. A 15 stand mini exhibition on the Amrut Mahotsav of Azadi is also being taken in these vehicles, which will be displayed for the general public from place to place.

'Har Ghar Nal Connection'

Why in News

  • On August 27, 2021 in a meeting of the State Level Plan Approval Committee (SLSSC), 145 projects were approved at a cost of Rs 203.83 crore under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in rural areas of the state under the regular wing and major projects.

Key Points

  • With this, 38,503 'Har Ghar Nal Connections' will be given in 173 villages. Apart from this, proposals of Rs 268.60 lakh for preparation of survey and DPR in Chittorgarh and Udaipur under major projects and Rs 297.55 crore for support activities under the annual plan of JJM were also approved in the meeting.
  • In the meeting, 29 rural schemes were approved for 36 villages of Dholpur under the regular wing at a cost of Rs 47 crore. With this 9673 'Har Ghar Nal Connections' will be given.
  • In Jhalawar, 31 rural schemes were approved for 34 villages at a cost of Rs. 24.49 crore. With this, 6008 'Har Ghar Nal Connections' will be given.
  • In Karauli, 36 rural schemes have been approved for 43 villages at a cost of Rs 41.80 crore, out of which 9274 'Har Ghar Nal Connections' will be given.
  • Approval of Rs 2.34 crore was also issued for 'Har Ghar Nal Connection' in a rural project in Bundi district.
  • Apart from this, 47 rural schemes have been approved for 46 villages in Alwar at a cost of Rs 54.10 crore, out of which 11859 'Har Ghar Nal Connections' will be given.
  • Under Major Drinking Water Projects, Rs 34.10 crore has been approved for Singola Anicut based drinking water project in Baran district. In this, 1367 'Har Ghar Nal Connections' will be given in 10 villages.
  • For the work of survey and preparation of DPR, Rs 156.32 lakh was given for 36254 'Har Ghar Nal Connection' in 265 villages from Chambal river based drinking water project in Chittorgarh. Approval of Rs 112.28 lakh has been given for 26041 'Har Ghar Nal Connection' in 164 villages from Som Kamla Amba Dam in Udaipur.

Madhya Pradesh First in Getting Recognition of Water Testing Laboratories

Why in News

Key Points

  • State and district level 51 laboratories of the Public Health Engineering Department have been granted recognition certificates by the Accreditation Board (NABL). Madhya Pradesh is the first and Maharashtra is the second among the states that have received recognition for various water testing laboratories of the country.
  • The quality of water being supplied to the common citizen is tested from time to time. For this, one state level and 55 district level (including upgraded Khurai, Mauganj, Sardarpur and Parasia) laboratories are run by the PHE department in the state. Apart from this, 100 subdivision level laboratories are also operating.
  • To ensure the quality of drinking water, applications are made by various states for certification of their water testing laboratories with prescribed parameters and fees.
  • Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of 51 laboratories in the accreditation certificates issued by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) to 182 water testing laboratories in 25 states so far.

Purchase of Land through e-Bhoomi Portal

Why in News

  • On August 27, 2021, in a meeting of the High Power Land Purchase Committee (HPLPC), chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, approved the purchase of 311 acres of land through e-bhoomi portal with the consent of the land owners, costing about Rs.172 crore.

Key Points

  • This approval was for seven projects in six districts — Rewari, Nuh, Sirsa, Faridabad, Sonipat and Jind.
  • Seven agendas of Medical Education and Research, Public Works (Building and Roads), Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board and Public Health Engineering departments were approved in the meeting.
  • These include establishment of All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Rewari, construction of ring road from four lane Medical College road to Gurugram-Alwar road (NH 248A) in Nuh district, development of an additional grain market in Sirsa, under Inter-State connectivity scheme of Central Road Fund. Construction of road and bridge on Yamuna river to Greater Noida via Jasna Manjhawali Atta Gujran.
  • Similarly, construction of two lane ROB in Delhi-Ambala section near Ganaur railway station in Sonipat district, construction of sewerage system STP at Chautala village under Mahagram scheme in Sirsa district and construction of canal based water supply scheme in Jind.

Self-supporting Gothans

Why in News

  • According to the information given by the State Agriculture Department, under the 'Garuva' component of the important flagship scheme 'Suraji Gaon Yojna' of the State Government, out of 5963 Gothans built and actively operated in the State, 1242 Gothans have become self-supporting.

Key Points

  • According to the information received from the Agriculture Department, a maximum of 189 Gothans have become self-supporting in Raigarh district. There are 141 Gothans in Kabirdham district at number two and 101 Gothans in Rajnandgaon district at number three.
  • Similarly, 25 in Gariaband district, 43 in Dhamtari, 49 in Baloda Bazar, 25 in Raipur district, 64 in Durg, 30 in Balod, 22 in Bemetara, 61 in Korba, 25 in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, 44 in Janjgir-Champa, 34 in Bilaspur, 20 in Mungeli, 23 in Korea, 36 in Jashpur, 18 in Balrampur, 39 in Surguja, 22 in Surajpur, 69 in Kanker, 21 in Kondagaon, 29 in Dantewada, 5 in Narayanpur, 26 in Bastar, Bijapur 12 and 18 Gothans in Sukma district have become self-supporting.
  • It is worth mentioning that in order to promote the conservation and promotion of livestock in the state, the state government has so far approved the construction of Gothans in 10,107 villages, out of which the construction of 5,963 Gothans has been completed and dung has been procured there. Vermi and other income-oriented activities are going on including the manufacture of compost.
  • Presently 3,220 Gothans are being constructed at a rapid pace, the work of construction of remaining 924 Gothans is yet to be started.
  • So far, green fodder has been planted in about 7,600 acres in more than 4, 000 Gothans, in which hybrid Napier grass has been planted and other fodder has been sown.

Chhattisgarh Top in Recognition of Forest Rights Claims

Why in News

  • In the review meeting of the Tribal Welfare Department held under the chairmanship of Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda at Chhattisgarh Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan on August 27, 2021, it was informed that Chhattisgarh is a leading state in the whole country in recognizing the claims of individual and community forest rights.

Key Points

  • According to the information received, 21,95,228 hectares of land has been distributed in the state under 4 lakh 86 thousand individual and community forest rights recognition letters.
  • These include 3,60, 619 hectares of land distributed to 4,41,502 beneficiaries under individual forest rights recognition letters and 18,34,609 hectares of area under 44,524 community forest rights recognition letters.
  • On this occasion, the Union Minister took detailed information about the programs being run in the interest of tribal people in Chhattisgarh and directed them to get maximum benefit by ensuring its better implementation. He laid special emphasis on the overall upliftment of the tribal class and development of their entrepreneurial skills.

  • On August 27, 2021, Union Tribal Minister Arjun Munda launched TRIFED's outlet at Maa Danteshwari Airport, Jagdalpur.

Key Points

  • In this outlet, Belmetal artwork, clothes, and forest products made by artists of Bastar have been put up for exhibition-cum-sale.
  • This outlet, which is open in the airport, will allow visitors to find products made by the artists of Bastar at one place. Also, the art of Bastar will be promoted on a wide scale. Its direct or indirect benefit will be given to the artists here.
