Liver and Kidney Transplant Centre to be built in Rohtak

Why in News?

According to the information given by a government spokesman of Haryana on July 26, 2023, for the treatment of serious diseases related to liver and kidney in the state, patients will soon get the facility of liver and kidney transplant at Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (PGIMS) located in Rohtak district.

Key Points:

  • In this regard, Chief Minister Manohar Lal has approved the proposal of the Medical Education and Research Department.
  • An official spokesman said that the state government is constantly providing better health facilities to the people of the state. In this series, along with setting up of the Transplant Center at PGIMS, Rohtak, manpower has also been approved.
  • The posts of 3 liver transplant surgeons, 2 renal transplant surgeons and 2 nephrologists have also been approved for this centre.

Depot Holders will now have Super-Fast 5-G 'POS Devices'

Why in News?

On July 26, 2023, Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, Dushyant Chautala, after presiding over a meeting of senior officials of the Food and Supplies Department, said that the state government will provide 5-G 'POS devices' to all depot-holders in the state so that poor people can get ration. Delivery work can be completed soon.

Key Points:

  • With the help of this device, people will be able to deposit and withdraw money from the bank account of the depot-holder just like a micro-ATM.
  • The Deputy Chief Minister directed the officers to explore the possibilities of making Harhit Store and Ration Depot a joint model. With this, if the depot holders keep other items like tea leaves, and salt, then their income can increase.
  • The Deputy Chief Minister said that technology is changing rapidly, in view of this, all depot holders will be given 5-G 'POS devices' for super-fast speed, so that they can complete their work quickly and there is no crowd at the shop.
  • This device will be given the form of a micro-ATM so that people will be able to deposit their money in their own bank account with biometrics and also be able to withdraw cash. This will be of special benefit to those people who do not have the facility of a bank or ATM in the villages.
