World Travel Market Responsible Tourism India Award

- On July 27, 2022, Principal Secretary (Tourism and Culture) and Managing Director Tourism Board of Madhya Pradesh Shiv Shekhar Shukla informed that Bhopal will host the World Travel Market Responsive Tourism India Award.
Key Points
- An international seminar on Responsive Tourism will also be organized by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board in collaboration with the ADTOI-MP Chopper Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India.
- These programs, which started on August 30, 2022, will run till September 10, 2022. Under this, an ICRT team comprising representatives from different countries including UK, Australia, South Africa, France will visit various destinations in Madhya Pradesh. The team will be led by Dr. Harold Goodwin, Founding Director of ICRT and Managing Director of Responsible Tourism Partnership.
- The team will visit the rich heritage sites of the state and developed villages of rural tourism. He will also participate in village-stay, local excursions, traditional cuisine and cultural programmes in various districts of the state.
- The team will also review Project Clean Destination (Solid Waste Management), Project Responsive Sovenier at Mandla and Project Humsafar at Orchha.
- It is noteworthy that the International Center for Responsible Tourism (ICRT) is a network of intellectuals who support the Cape Town Declaration. It has many affiliate organizations and affiliated centres. It was founded in 2002 by Harold Goodwin as a result of the Responsible Tourism in Tourism Declaration and the Cape Town Declaration of 2002.
- Members of the ICRT network strive to develop and promote the concept of responsive tourism. The World Responding Tourism Award was instituted by the International Centre for Responsive Tourism in the year 2004.
- The objective of this award is to promote responsive tourism in the world and to create awareness about the good work being done by the institutions in this field.
- The World Responsive Tourism Award is given in 10 different categories. So far, this award event is in London. T. M. it was in. For the first time, the award for India and Sub-Continent is going to be held outside London in Bhopal.
- Apart from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Bhutan, Malaysia and Nepal will participate in this award. The winner of the award will be selected by the International Jury, whose chairman Dr. Harald will be Goodwin.
