Lump sum scheme soon for PACS consumers

  • On July 27, 2022, The Minister of Cooperation of Haryana, Dr. Banerjee Lal, while chairing a review meeting of the officials of cooperative societies and Harco Bank, said that on the lines of Haryana Central Co-operative Bank, a one-time payment scheme will be formulated soon for PACS consumers so that PACS consumers can also avail the benefits of the scheme.

  • The Cooperation Minister said that all the PACS of the state will be computerized at the earliest. 751 packs of the state are being computerized. In the first phase, 307 packs are being computerized. In the second phase the remaining PACS will also be computerized.
  • He said that NABARD will inspect the computerized PACS as a pilot project, so the work of uploading the data of the PACS and making them online soon should be done. For this, a training workshop for the employees will be held at Panchkula soon.
  • Under the one-time payment scheme implemented for the state's Central Co-operative Bank consumers, Rs. 28.09 crore has been recovered so far. There are 24397 members of the cooperative banks, out of which 1207 members have availed of the one time payment scheme.

Discussions were also held in the context of the 'National Mission on Technical Textiles'.
  • The Deputy Chief Minister informed that the draft 'Haryana Self-Reliant Textile Policy-2022' has been thoroughly discussed by the Cabinet Sub-Committee. The policy will now be placed before the Cabinet for approval.
  • The policy, formulated for the period up to 2025, is expected to provide an investment of about 4,000 crore rupees and employment to 20,000 youth.
  • Under this policy, technical textiles will be specifically encouraged and expanded. The policy also includes the promotion of synthetic fiber and regenerated fiber units.
