Chief Minister Yogi Inaugurated and laid the Foundation Stone of Projects worth Rs 175 crore in Gorakhpur

Why In News?

On November 24, 2023, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in the inauguration/foundation stone laying program of development projects in Gorakhpur district and he gifted projects worth Rs 175 crore to Gorakhpur.

  • Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 116 development projects worth Rs 175 crore in Gorakhpur.
  • Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has inaugurated 82 development works costing Rs 145.67 crore and laid the foundation stone of 34 development works costing Rs 29.61 crore. The foundation stone laying works also include establishment of smart classes in 63 council schools.

  • Patrakarpuram and Raptinagar from plan fund – 4940.60 lakhs
  • Authority, HURL, Infrastructure Plan Item- 4973.35 lakh

  • The foundation stone of these projects was laid-

  • Smart classes, community halls, EV charging stations in council schools - 1323.96 lakhs
  • 8 works under the infrastructure fund of the authority - 1037.06 lakhs
  • It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in the program organized at Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium and here he also conducted the e-lottery of Khorabar Township and Medicity Scheme of Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA).

Country's Second Floating CNG Station to be Built in Varanasi

Why In News?

On November 26, 2023, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri remotely launched the Floating Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Mobile Re-Fueling Unit (MRU) station at Ravidas Ghat on the banks of Ganga.

Key Points:

  • This is the world's first mobile station. Now sailors will be able to fill CNG at Namo Ghat as well as Ravidas Ghat. Till now the facility was available only at Namo Ghat located north of Varanasi. Now the facility has also been made at Ravidas Ghat located in the south.
  • The Union Minister said that fuel efficiency has improved by converting old and less efficient petrol-diesel engines of boats into CNG engines. So far, 735 boats out of 890 registered have been converted to CNG by GAIL. This has cost Rs 18 crore. GAIL Chairman and Managing Director Sandeep Kumar Gupta was also present on this occasion.
  • The new CNG station of Ravidas Ghat will be brought to Namo Ghat and CNG will be filled in the cascade. Then it will be taken to Ravidas Ghat. Its capacity is four thousand kg per day. Here 300 to 400 boats can be filled with CNG every day.
  • According to GAIL officials, each seafarer can save approximately Rs 36 thousand every month by using CNG as fuel.
  • According to Varanasi Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma, this CNG station will be built with special technology due to which its life will be around 100 years.

Every House will be Surveyed to Assess liquor Bank in Bihar

Why In News?

Addressing the function organized on the occasion of De-addiction Day on November 26, 2023, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said that like the caste-based census, now a survey will be conducted in every household to assess the impact of liquor ban. He also flagged off vehicles to promote prohibition.

Key Points:

  • According to the survey released in February 2023, 99 percent women and 92 percent men are in favor of prohibition.
  • Through this survey it will be known how many people have given up alcohol consumption. Besides, a report on the impact of prohibition on family and society will also be prepared.
  • According to the Prohibition Products and Registration Department, this time academic institutions have been invited for this.
  • A minimum of 2500 houses in all 38 districts of Bihar will be surveyed. Besides, at least 40 people will also be interviewed. Apart from this, there will also be four focus groups, which will discuss the issue of liquor ban.
  • From the survey of the year 2018, it was found that 1 crore 64 lakh people have stopped drinking alcohol and in the survey of the year 2023, this figure reached 1 crore 82 lakh.
  • It is noteworthy that liquor ban was implemented in Bihar in 2016 on the demand of women. Was first implemented in rural areas. But, on the demand of common people, it was implemented in the entire state within five days.

Rajasthan Assebmly General Election-2023 : 75.45 Percent Voting Place in the State.

According to the information given by the Information and Public Relations Department of Rajasthan on November 26, 2023, 75.45 percent voting took place in the elections held on November 25, 2023 in the state for the Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023.

Key Points:

  • The voting process for Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023 was completed peacefully in the state on 25th November. Now counting of votes will take place on December 3, 2023. On the day of voting, voters participated in this great festival of democracy with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm and voted enthusiastically.
  • Compared to the Assembly elections 2018 in the state, there was an increase of 0.73 percent in the voting percentage in the Assembly elections held this year in 2023. 0.83 percent voting through postal ballot is also included in the total voting for the Assembly Elections-2023.
  • A total of 74.62 percent voting took place through EVMs in the state on November 25. Men voted 74.53 percent and women 74.72 percent. In the Assembly elections-2018, 74.71 percent voting took place in the state, in which men voted 74.75 percent and women 74.67 percent.
  • Maximum 88.13 percent voting was done through EVM in Kushalgarh assembly constituency. There was 86.13 percent voting here in 2018. This time 87.79 percent voting took place in Pokaran assembly constituency, here in the year 2018 elections there was 87.50 percent voting. This time 86.11 percent voting took place in Tijara compared to 82.08 percent last time.
  • Pokhran, Kushalgarh and Tijara assembly constituencies saw the highest number of women voting at 88.23 percent, 87.54 percent and 85.45 percent respectively.
  • The lowest voting percentage was 61.24 percent through EVM in Ahor assembly constituency. There was 61.53 percent voting here in 2018. This time 61.29 percent voting took place in Marwar Junction assembly constituency, here in the year 2018 elections there was 60.42 percent voting. This time 61.44 percent voting took place in Sumerpur as compared to 60.89 percent last time.
  • Jodhpur, Todabhim and Bamanwas assembly constituencies had the lowest voting percentage of women at 62.97 percent, 63.22 percent and 63.63 percent respectively.
  • The maximum increase in voting was 9.6 percent in Baseri assembly constituency, 7.65 percent in Taranagar and 7.01 percent in Aspur. At the same time, the maximum decline in voting percentage was recorded in Phalodi by 7.15 percent, in Hindaun by 6.10 percent and in Jaisalmer by 4.79 percent.
  • In this assembly election, a total of 39211399 votes were cast from EVMs in the state. Of these, 18827294 votes were cast by women, 20383757 by men and 348 votes were cast by third gender voters.

An Amount of Rs 44.48 Crore Given to 1159 B Beneficiaries under DAYALU Scheme

Why In News?

On November 23, 2023, Chief Minister Manohar Lal transferred an amount of Rs 44.48 crore directly into the bank accounts of 1159 beneficiaries under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana (DAYALU), launched with the aim of providing socio-financial security to Antyodaya families. .

Key Points:

  • Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that when a family member dies or becomes disabled in an accident, a mountain of troubles falls on that family. A poor family is also in great trouble financially. Taking care of such families, we have started Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana (DAYALU) to provide them financial help.
  • Under this scheme, assistance is provided in case of death or disability of a member of the age group of 6 years to 60 years of a family with annual income up to Rs 1 lakh 80 thousand. Under this scheme, so far an amount of Rs 75 crore 10 lakh has been deposited directly into the bank accounts of 1964 beneficiaries.
  • This scheme is being implemented by Haryana Family Protection Trust.
  • Under Dayalu Yojana, benefits are given according to different age groups. Rs 1 lakh for 6 to 12 years of age, Rs 2 lakh for above 12 and up to 18 years, Rs 3 lakh for above 18 and up to 25 years, Rs 5 lakh for above 25 and up to 45 years, above 45 and 60 An amount of Rs 3 lakh is given per year.
  • This benefit also includes the amount received under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) or the schemes run by various departments for the concerned category in the age group of 18 to 40 years.

Haryana Government Will Give Incentive Amount to Sanitation Workers Of Civil Bodies

Why In News?

On November 23, 2023, Chief Minister Manohar Lal has announced that additional incentive amount will be given to the sanitation workers of the bodies falling in the top 25 percent (Best Performing) category in the cleanliness survey ranking conducted by the Government of India.

Key Points:

  • The Chief Minister said that an annual incentive of Rs 12,000 will be provided to the sanitation workers of those municipalities which are in the top 25 percent category among all the municipalities based on the performance of the Swachh Survekshan.
  • Apart from this, an annual incentive amount of Rs 9,000 will also be provided to the sanitation workers of the municipalities falling in the next 25 percent category.
  • The Chief Minister said that the incentive amount given to the sanitation workers of the civic bodies will be given on the basis of the performance of the cleanliness survey being conducted by the Government of India.
  • The category of incentives to be given in the next financial year will be decided based on the performance of the bodies during the Swachh Survekshan conducted in any one year. In the next year again the incentive amount for the coming year will be decided based on the performance of the latest survey.
  • Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that this incentive amount will be provided in 4 installments. An installment will be given at the end of each quarter of the financial year. With this, the sanitation workers will get an additional amount of about Rs 20 crore annually. These include regular employees, municipal roll employees, outsourcing agency employees etc.

Haryana Government Signs MoU with CPWD for Critical Care Block and DIPHL

Why In News?

On November 23, 2023, Haryana Government signed an MoU with the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) for the construction of 15 Critical Care Blocks and 17 District Integrated Public Health Laboratories (DIPHL) in the state.

Key Points:

  • Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal said that the construction work for the establishment of Program Management Unit will start soon. The construction work of Critical Care Block in Ambala Cantt is being done by the Public Works Department and 40 percent of its work has been completed, which is likely to be completed by December 2024.
  • Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Dr. G. Anupama said that the Central Government has been requested to release the second installment for the construction of Critical Care Block and District Integrated Public Health Laboratory in Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantt. 90 percent of the total budget of Rs 18.92 crore, Rs 16.63 crore has been utilized for this project.
  • Apart from this, the Public Works Department has also been entrusted with the construction of two Critical Care Blocks and five District Integrated Public Health Laboratories in the state.

Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar Programe Started in Barhet

Why In News?

On November 24, 2023, Chief Minister Hemant Soren launched the Panchayat level Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar program from Gopaladih in Barhet, Sahebganj. This program will be organized in panchayats across the state till December 26, 2023.

Key Points:

  • Under this program, camps will be organized in 4,351 panchayats and 50 wards of the state. In these camps, the needy people who were till now deprived of the schemes will be covered with public welfare schemes.
  • This program is being organized for the third time. On the occasion of completion of 2 years of the state government, the program 'Aapki Adhikar-Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar' was organized for the first time.
  • In the camps organized at Panchayat and Ward level, benefits of new schemes like Abu Awas Yojana, Birsa Irrigation Well Scheme, matters related to community and individual forest lease, Guruji Student Credit Card Scheme will be given.
  • Apart from this, necessary amendments in caste, income, birth, death, disability certificate, matters related to land, Ayushman card, matters related to socio-economic basic needs of common people, Sarvajan Pension Scheme, Savitri Bai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana, farmers Other work including credit card scheme, registration of migrant workers on the Shramadhan portal under the Labor Department, amendment/correction in revenue records, amendment in Aadhaar and ration cards, redressal of complaints related to electricity bills will be executed.
  • Under this program, cash transfer or check will be distributed to the students for bicycles. Besides, benefits of other schemes including distribution of old or newly created forest leases under Birsa Irrigation Well Augmentation Scheme, Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme, Chief Minister Livestock Development Scheme, Abua Bir Dishom Abhiyan will be provided.
  • 'Kalyan Manch' will be set up in each camp, through which benefits/assets related to the schemes will be distributed to the beneficiaries in the camp itself. I-cards and dhoti/saree/lungi and blankets will be distributed among self-help group/cluster members.
  • It is noteworthy that on the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who is sensitive to the rights of the people, the 'Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar' program was launched on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda and Jharkhand State Foundation Day (15 November).
