Why In News?
- In the meeting of the Council of Ministers held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on April 26, 2022, many important decisions were taken including the formation of Madhya Pradesh Natural Agriculture Development Board.
Key Points
- In order to increase the spread of natural agriculture in the state and with the objective of providing encouragement and cooperation to the farmers with continuous guidance, it was decided to constitute 'Madhya Pradesh Natural Agriculture Development Board' as an independent organization.
- For monitoring and review in the board, an apex body headed by the Chief Minister and a task force under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary will be constituted at the state level.
- The State Project Director of the Board will be Additional Chief Secretary, Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Department and Executive Directo. The headquarter of the board will be in Bhopal.
- At the district level, the scheme will be implemented by the District Project Director, Aatma, under the direction of the Atma Governing Board, headed by the Collector.
- The cabinet decided to implement an incentive scheme for crop diversification in Madhya Pradesh in view of the increase in the area and production of wheat and paddy in the state, increase in the cost of procurement on support price and environmental imbalance in the state due to these crops. took.
- According to the proposal of the scheme, the proposals received from the applicant company/institution will be examined by the Director, Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development and approved by the Council of Ministers Committee on Investment Promotion (CCIP) after the recommendation of the State Level Project Testing Committee headed by the Chief Secretary.
- The implementation of the proposals approved in the scheme will be done by the Monitoring Director, Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development.
- Under the scheme, non-MSP sown in place of wheat and paddy. Crops will be covered.
- This will reduce the dependence on chemical fertilizers in the state and environmental protection, biodiversity and sustainable farming will be possible. Also, there will be reduction in procurement on support price and dependence on import of pulses and oilseeds will be reduced.
- The cabinet decided to amend the Madhya Pradesh Work (Allotment) Rules to change the name of 'Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes Department' to 'Vimukt, Nomadic and Ardh Nomadic Welfare Department'.
- Apart from this, the cabinet approved the establishment of the Motor Transport School in Datia district and creation of new posts.
