33 New Women Police Stations and 239 Women Help Desks Established in the State

On January 26, 2023, Haryana's Home and Health Minister Anil Vij told during the 74th Republic Day celebrations at the Police Line Complex in Ambala city of the state that 33 new women's police stations and 239 women's help centers have been set up in the state to deal with crimes against women. Coarse Grain Cultivation will get a Boost in Jharkhand

On January 26, 2023, the Jharkhand Agriculture Department has decided to promote millets as well in the light of the order of the Government of India. For this, the unit committee of the department has now planned of Rs 10 crore.

  • In this scheme, a plan has been prepared to promote the production of coarse grains in different districts of Jharkhand in the coming years. There are full possibilities to promote the production of coarse cereals in the state. Earlier, many types of coarse grains were produced here.
  • It is worth mentioning that for the last two years, the Agriculture Department serves only coarse grain products to the guests in its big programmes. Madua ki roti, Madua ka pitha, Chhilka roti etc. are served in the workshop of Agriculture Department.
  • The Agriculture Department will organize seminars from state to block level on the utility and potential of coarse grains.
  • It is known that the Government of India is celebrating the year 2023 as Millet's Year. In view of this, the state government has also prepared a plan. In this, the opinion of experts working on coarse grains will also be taken.
  • There is good potential for ragi production in Jharkhand. According to the APEDA report, Jharkhand produces close to 15,000 tonnes of ragi. In the financial year 2017-18, there was a production of close to 18 thousand tonnes. Jowar is also producing about one thousand tonnes.   • The President has approved the conferment of 106 Padma Awards including three dual cases (in a dual case, the award is counted as one) for the year 2023.
  • The list includes 6 Padma Vibhushan, 9 Padma Bhushan and 91 Padma Shri awardees. The list of awardees includes 19 women and 2 persons from the category of Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI and 7 posthumous awardees.
  • Sushri Usha Barle, Domar Singh Kunwar and Ajay Kumar Mandavi are among the three celebrities from Chhattisgarh selected for the Padma Shri award.
  • Ms. Usha Barle of Durg district will be honored with Padma Shri award in the field of Pandavani singing. She has taken Pandavani training from renowned Pandavani singer Padma Vibhushan Teejanbai. Barle has performed Pandavani not only in India but also in cities like London and New York.
  • Domar Singh Kunwar, a dancer and renowned artist, a resident of Village Lata Bod of Balod district, has been selected for Padma Shri to bring fame to the extinct dance art of Chhattisgarh from the country to abroad. He has staged this art more than 5 thousand times.
  • Ajay Kumar Mandavi, a resident of Govindpur village in Kanker district, has introduced Gond tribal art in wood crafts. He has brought about a change in the lives of more than 350 people of the naxal area by connecting the affected and misguided people of the Naxal area with wood craftsmanship as well as connecting the youth with the wonderful art of wood. Mandavi will be honoured with the Padma Shri award for his work in motivating the youth to get rid of guns from their hands and pick up the chisel.
