Tableaux of Agriculture Department Got Awards in 25 Districts

Why in News

  • In the district level function organized on the occasion of Republic Day on 26 January 2022, tableaux of farmer welfare and agricultural development were rewarded in 25 districts. Tableaux of the Agriculture Department got first prize in 6 districts, second and third prize in 9 districts and consolation prize in one district.

  • State's Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Kamal Patel said that among the tableaux taken out by the district administration in the districts on the occasion of Republic Day, Agriculture Department, Hoshangabad, 'Contribution of agriculture in self-reliant India', Chhindwara 'Self-reliant India campaign', Jhabua The first prize was won on the theme of 'Madhya Pradesh moving towards natural farming', 'Jan-Bhagidari' for Sehore and 'Natural Farming' for Vidisha and Harda.
  • The tableaux of the Agriculture Department in 9 districts of the state have been given second prize by the district administration. Morena has been awarded on the theme of 'Unnat Kheti - Happy Farmer' and Khargone, Rajgarh, Sheopur, Neemuch, Shivpuri, Dhar, Dewas and Umaria on the theme of 'Natural Farming'.
  • The tableaux of the Agriculture Department in the state have got the third prize by the district administration in 9 districts. Anuppur as 'Natural Farming and Self-reliant Madhya Pradesh', Seoni as 'Jirashankar Rice and Natural Farming', Tikamgarh as 'Crop Diversification', Damoh as 'Soil and Water Conservation', Gwalior as 'Natural Farming - Happy Farmer' and Balaghat, Bhind. Tableaux of Khandwa and Ratlam have been awarded on the theme of 'Natural Farming'.
  • Along with this, the tableau of the Agriculture Department of Mandsaur district has been given a consolation prize.

5 Persons from Haryana Selected for Padma Awards

Why in News

  • On January 25, 2022, the Government of India announced the Padma Awards 2022. According to this, Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra and Paralympic gold medalist Sumit Antil, who performed remarkable in the field of sports from Haryana, Omprakash Gandhi in social work, Motilal Madan in science and engineering, Raghavendra Tanwar in literature and education, received Padma Shri award.

  • It is noteworthy that in the competition of track and field athlete, javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra created history by winning the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2021 by throwing 87.58m javelin. By achieving this golden feat, he has become the first athlete from India to win a gold medal at the Olympics in track and field event.
  • Similarly, Sumit Antil won the gold medal in the F64 men's javelin throw at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics with a javelin throw of 68.55 meters.
  • Omprakash Poswal Gandhi, the founder of Gurjar Kanya Vidya Mandir, launched Gurjar Kanya Vidya Mandir on April 7, 1987, embodying his resolve due to his humility, decency, tact and ability to organize people.   • Gold Medalist in BVSc and AH and MSc (Punjab University), PhD (UMC, USA), DSC awardee Motilal Madan has been selected for the Padma Shri award for his remarkable work in the field of Science and Engineering.
  • He has also been the Vice Chancellor of various educational institutions. He has published 432 research articles and policy papers in international and national reference journals, including 226 original research papers.
  • Raghavendra Tanwar will be honored with Padma Shri in literature and education. Awarded for the first place in History and the highest percentage of marks in the Faculty of Social Sciences, National Fellow of UGC, President, Punjab History Congress (Modern 2001) and First President, Indian History Congress (Contemporary 2008) Prof. Tanwar Kurukshetra University Dean Academics, Dean Social Has held the posts of Faculty of Science and Registrar.
  • His book 'Politics of Sharing Power: The Punjab Unionist Party 1923–1947' is recognized as an important and accepted research on the political system existing in the pre-Partition Punjab.

14 Officers of Haryana Police Decorated with Police Medals

  • On January 25, 2022, 14 police officers of Haryana Police have been selected to be awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Services and Police Medal for Meritorious Services.

  • Haryana Police spokesperson said that Inspector General of Police Karnal Range, Mamta Singh and CID Panchkula Superintendent of Police Surendra Vats have been awarded President's Police Medal for distinguished services by the Union Home Ministry.
  • 12 other plolice officers have been decorated with Police Medals for meritorious services. These include Dharambir Singh, Commandant II IRB Bhondsi Gurugram, Anil Kumar DSP Narayangarh, Sheetal Singh DSP RTC Bhondsi Gurugram, Manish Sehgal DSP CID Faridabad, Sunita Rani Inspector RTC Bhondsi Gurugram, Janak Raj Sub-Inspector Hisar, Sukh Ram Singh ESI Panchkula, Umesh Kumar ESI Faridabad, Seema ESI Telecom Panchkula, Ram Gopal ASI GRP Kurukshetra, Vinod Kumar ASI CID, Panchkula and Rajesh Kumar ASI Police Headquarters Panchkula.
  • Director General of Police (DGP) Haryana, Prashant Kumar Agrawal said that this achievement at the national level would boost the morale of those who were decorated with Police Medals as well as other officers and jawans of the State Police Force.

Chief Minister Laid the Foundation Stone of 14 Rice Mills in 10 Districts of the State

  • On January 24, 2022, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren laid the foundation stone of 14 rice mills in 10 districts of the state in the foundation stone laying of Rice Mills in different districts program organized in the auditorium at Mantralaya, Jharkhand.

  • The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of these rice mills in Garhwa, Palamu, Latehar, West Singhbhum, Khunti, Gumla, Simdega, Dhanbad, Bokaro and Godan districts of the state.
  • Kurmipur in Palamu district, Garja and Hethma in Simdega district, Timra and Kalamati in Khunti district, Kasira and Konbir in Gumla district, Kushmahi in Garhwa district, Jalta in Latehar, Chaunpurkhas and Sealjoda in West Singhbhum district, Deviana in Dhanbad district, Bokaro district. Foundation stone was laid for Rice Mills Units at K Mirdha and Govardhanpur in Godan district.
  • The Chief Minister said that due to paucity of rice mills in the state, farmers were not getting adequate price for their produce. With the opening of rice mills, those problems will now come to an end. The opening of new and modern rice mills will give a big support to the farmers of the state as well as the economy of Jharkhand. With the establishment of rice mills, a large number of local people will also get employment opportunities.
  • The Chief Minister said that under the Food Processing Policy, Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority is providing land to the investors at concessional rates. The state government is encouraging investors in many ways to set up processing units in the state.

  • Important announcements made by the Chief Minister are-
    • Announcement to make a practical, simple and transparent law this year for the regularization of irregular building construction.
    • Announcement to make necessary provisions for the regularization of commercial activities conducted in residential areas.
    • Announcement to issue building configuration up to 500 square meters without any human intervention in such areas outside the municipal corporation in the state, which are included in the investment area.
    • Announcement to provide tap connections within time-limit by making the process of obtaining tap connections in urban bodies free from human intervention on the lines of 'Direct Building Permission'.
    • Declaration of freeholding of government leased lands in rural areas also. The state government had decided to free hold the pattas located on abadi, nazul and slum in urban areas, now it will be implemented in rural areas as well.
    • Announcement of reserving ten percent plots for this category by amending the industrial policy to promote entrepreneurship among other backward classes. This plot will be made available at the rate of ten percent of the land premium rate and one percent of the land rent.
    • In view of the success of 'Mukhyamantri Urban Slum Health Scheme', it has been announced to be expanded to all the urban bodies of the state.
    • Announcement to simplify the process of making learning licenses for the convenience of youth. For this, 'Transport Facilitation Centers' will be started on a large scale. These centers will not only be authorized to make learning licenses, but in these centers all the services related to the transport department will be available to the citizens near their residence and the youth of the state will get employment opportunities.
    • Announcement to increase the contribution of the state government from 10 percent to 14 percent under the Contributory Pension Scheme of government employees.
    • Announcement to work on 5 working days per week system to increase working efficiency and productivity of government employees.
    • Reiterating the commitment to the safety of women, announcement of formation of 'Women Safety Cell' in every district.
    • Announcement to start state level archery academy in Jagdalpur in the name of 'Shaheed Gundadhur' to encourage archery.
    • In view of the complexity of the rules of tree felling and the disinterest of the citizens in plantation due to it, announced the simplification of the law related to it in the interest of the citizens. For this necessary amendments will be made in all relevant Acts and Rules.
    • Announcement to purchase pulses crops like moong, urad, tur etc. at minimum support price from the upcoming Kharif year 2022-23.
    • Announced to start 'Mukhyamantri Noni Sashaktikaran Sahayata Yojna' to help in education, employment, self-employment and marriage of daughters of labor families. Under this scheme, a lump sum amount of 20-20 thousand rupees will be paid in the bank account of the first two daughters of the beneficiaries registered in 'Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board'.
    • Announced the opening of 'Chief Minister Shramik Resource Center' at all district headquarters and block level and ITIs in each block.

  • On January 26, 2022, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel released the Medicine Rate List and Medical Item List of Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store operated under Municipal Corporation, Raipur at his residence office.

Key Points

  • In the booklet of Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store, information has been given in simple language regarding which medicines and goods will be available for the treatment of which disease, including the full addresses of all generic medical shops operating in Raipur Municipal Corporation area.
  • The medicine type, medicine name, MRP price and drug price after giving discount are displayed in the booklet through a chart. Also, along with information related to search of Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store address and medical store helpline through Google Map, names of pharma companies whose medicines and medical goods will be available here have also been listed.
  • It is noteworthy that in order to provide medicines at affordable rates to the people, Chhattisgarh Government has started Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store in many places of the state including Raipur.
  • The sale of 251 types of generic medicines and 27 surgical products has been made mandatory under the Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store scheme, run by the Urban Administration and Development Department. Apart from this, there is also a provision for the sale of Sanjeevani products, cosmetics products and baby food etc. of the Forest Department.
