Why In News?
- On August 25, 2022, the Ministry of Education, Government of India released the final list of names of 46 teachers from different states of the country selected for the National Teacher Awards 2022. It also includes the name of Mamta Ahar, an assistant teacher from Chhattisgarh.

- President Draupadi Murmu will present the National Awards for the year 2022 to selected teachers and teachers on the occasion of Teachers' Day on September 5, 2022 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a silver medal.
- Mamta Ahar, an assistant teacher, is the only teacher from the state to be selected for the National Teacher Award. She is posted as assistant teacher in Government Primary School P. Sakharam Dubey, District Raipur.
- On the occasion of Teachers' Day, the Department of School Education and Literacy of the Ministry of Education organizes a national function every year on September 5, in which national awards are given to the best teachers of the country.
- The selection of teachers for the awards is done in a transparent manner through an online three-tier selection process.
- The objective of conferring the National Award to Teachers is to highlight the unique contribution of the teachers of the country and to honor such teachers, who have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students with their commitment and hard work.

- In the series of awards to be given in various categories by Outlook Group at the 19th Annual Outlook Travelers Awards function held in New Delhi on August 24, 2022, in the Outlook Travelers Award-2022 category, Bastar of Chhattisgarh with a Special Jury Award as 'Best Awarded as 'Off Beat Destination'.

- Union Culture and Tourism Minister G. The Outlook Traveler Awards were presented in the presence of Kishan Reddy. Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department, Anbalgan P. received this award on behalf of Chhattisgarh in the ceremony.
- It is noteworthy that this year is the 19th year of the awards. At the same time, the theme of this year's Outlook Group summit is 'The Third Age of Travel'.
