Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show- 2023

Why is News?

According to information received from the media on August 24, 2023, the Uttar Pradesh government is organizing the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show-2023 for the first time, which will be held from September 21 to 25, 2023 at the India Expo Center and Mart located in Greater Noida.

Key Points:

  • Under the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show-2023, exhibitions will be held from September 21 to 25, as well as seminars and cultural activities.
  • Producers doing good business at the trade show will be rewarded. More than 2000 manufacturers and exporters from different sectors will participate in the exhibition.
  • The exhibition, spread over 50,000 square metres in 15 halls of the India Expo Mart, will also showcase a district, a product such as Pink Meenakari and Silk from Banaras, Shazar Stone from Banda, perfumes from Kannauj, Chikankari from Lucknow, Brass Ware from Moradabad and Black Pottery from Azamgarh.
  • The entry of people in the trade show will be free, so that maximum participation of the general public can be done.
  • The government has given the responsibility to the Greater Noida Authority and administration at the district level to make the event a success.
  • Schools, colleges, RWAs, AOAs and entrepreneurs will be roped in to promote the first international trade show on a large scale.

4 Farmers & 2 Farmer Groups from Bihar Selected for Genome Savior Award

Why is News?

According to information received from the media on August 24, 2023, 4 farmers and 2 farmer groups from Bihar have been selected for the Genome Saviour Award. These farmers will be felicitated by the Union Agriculture Ministry on September 12 in Delhi.

Key Points:

  • It is counted among the best awards for farmers. All these farmers and farmer groups are associated with Bihar Agricultural University.
  • The award carries a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh each to two farmer groups and Rs 1 lakh each to four farmers. Along with this, they will be given certificates and commendation medal. This award is being given to the farmers associated with Bihar Agricultural University (BAU) for the first time.
  • In this, a farmer group award will be given to 'Bhagalpur Katarani Paddy Growers Association' of Bhagalpur. This association is being given to preserve the traditional variety of Katarani paddy and its properties.
  • At the same time, 'The Litchi Growers Association of Bihar' of Muzaffarpur will be given the award to preserve the variety of royal litchi
  • This litchi growers association has been working for the conservation of Shahi Litchi for many years, due to which it has got a special identity.
  • At the same time, four farmers will be honoured individually, in which Arjun Mandal of Jamui district will be given for medicinal plants. They have more than 100 species of medicinal plants.
  • Arjun Singh of Rohtas district is being given the award for the Pumpkin named 'Sweta' and 'Natki Paddy'. The specialty of Natki Paddy is that it gives good yield even in low rainfall and its rice is digestible.
  • Dilip Kumar Singh of Sasaram district will be given the award for the conservation of tomatoes named 'Gulgushan'. This tomato has more medicinal properties than other tomato varieties.
  • Satyadev Singh of Munger district will be given the award for the conservation of 'Titua Masur'. The specialty of this variety is that it has high immunity.
  • Dr. Satyendra, Nodal Officer of BAU's PGVFRA (Plant Varieties Protection and Farmers' Rights Authority) cell, said that this award is given to farmers for their encouragement for the conservation of plants with a particular variety or old species, which have a high qualitative value.

Several Important decisions were taken in the 6th meeting of the State Wetland Authority

Why in News?

On August 24, 2023, the sixth meeting of the State Wetland Authority was organized under the chairmanship of Rajasthan's Forest and Environment Minister Hemaram Chaudhary, in which many important decisions were taken for wetland conservation.

Key Points

  • Important decisions taken in the meeting:
  • Presently 67 wetlands are notified in the state, these will be increased to 100.
  • At present, there are 2 Ramsar sites of international fame in the state, Sambhar Lake and Keoladeo National Park. Now the proposal to include Chandlai (Jaipur), Khichan (Jodhpur), Lunkaransar (Bikaner), Minar Talab (Udaipur) and Kanwas Bird Sanctuary (Kota) in the list of Ramsar sites will also be sent to the Government of India.
  • During the meeting, an amount of Rs 9 crore was approved for the demarcation, digital map, management plan and other conservation and development works of Sambhar Lake Wetland, Keoladeo National Park and notified wetlands.
  • The details of the conservation works of Sambhar Lake Wetland were presented in the meeting. Here, decisions were taken regarding setting up a permanent treatment centre for birds, preparing a plan for tourism and removing encroachments related to illegal salt production in mission mode.

'Shri Hanuman Lok' to be constructed on the lines of Shri Mahakal Lok

Why is News?

On August 24, 2023, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan, after worshiping the land of Shri Hanuman Lok in the famous Hanuman temple Jamsanwali of Chhindwara district of the state, announced that on the lines of Shri Mahakal Lok, in Jamsanwali Hanuman temple 'Shri 'Hanuman Lok' will be constructed.

Key Points:

  • The Chief Minister informed that in the first phase, the construction work of 'Shri Hanuman Lok' will start in an area of about 26.50 acres at a cost of more than Rs 35 crore.
  • In the first phase of the construction of 'Shri Hanuman Lok', the image of the great form of God will be visible through the grand entrance gate inspired by Marathwada architecture. A 500 meter long Chiranjeevi path will be made from the main entrance to the first courtyard.
  • In the 90 thousand square feet area of the path and the first courtyard, there will be a beautiful depiction of Anjani's son Hanuman ji's child form. In an area of about 62 thousand square feet, the devotional form of the devotee - Shiromani Hanuman ji will be depicted through sculptures and artefacts.
  • For Ramlila and other religious events, Muktakashi Manch will be built in 12 thousand square feet area on the banks of the reservoir, Ayurvedic hospital will be built in the premises after taking inspiration from the God who brings Sanjivani Booti.
  • Through beautification and landscaping of the river bank flowing near 'Shri Hanuman Lok', seating arrangements etc. will be made for the devotees.
  • Community center, public facilities, trust office, administrative office and control room etc. will be constructed in 37 thousand square feet. 120 shops and food courts will be set up for the arrangement of Prasad-worship material and food etc.
  • Parking will be developed in an area of 1.5 lakh square feet with a capacity of about 400 four wheelers and 400 two wheelers.
  • In the second phase of construction of 'Shri Hanuman Lok', development of Sanjivani Path for parikrama of Ramtekari mountain, Ashtasiddhi Center and Sanskrit School, Yogshala Lecture Hall and Open Air Theatre, construction of ghat on Jam river, waterfront path way and sitting area, Bhakt Niwas, Bhojanalaya and Cowshed will be constructed.

Civil Enclave to be established in Ambala for RCS flight operations

Why is News?

On August 23, 2023, Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij informed that a civil enclave will be set up by the Airport Authority of India in the state's Ambala district for RCS flight operations under the cooperation of the Ministry of Defense and the flagship program of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Key Points:

  • For the establishment of the Civil Enclave, an amount of more than Rs 133 crore will be sent to the Ministry of Defense by the Aviation Department of the State Government, for which the State Government has given its approval.
  • This civil enclave will be developed in about 20 acres of land along with the Air Force station of Ambala in the state and work on it will start soon. Tenders worth about Rs 16 crore have been floated so far for the operation of the Civil Enclave.
  • The Home and Health Minister informed that this enclave was sanctioned under the 'Udaan Yojana'. Due to his untiring efforts, this enclave has been approved and soon flights will start from here.
  • Ships will be moored in the enclave, while the airstrip will be used for the flight of airplanes, the approval of which has already been given by the Airforce.
  • It is understood that the terms and conditions shared by Ministry of Defense vide letter dated June 26, 2023 have been agreed to by the Government of Haryana and proposed transfer of account details for payment of cash compensation amount calculated by Ministry of Defense for this project the method has been sought by the state civil aviation department.

MoU for setting up country's 1st Hydrogen Fuel Industry in Jamshedpur

Why is News?

According to information received from the media on August 24, 2023, on the initiative of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, an MoU will be signed between the Department of Industries and TCPL Green Energy Solution Pvt. Ltd. (TGESPL) for the establishment of the country's first Hydrogen Fuel Industry at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.

Key Points:

  • The proposed capacity of the fuel related industry is 4000 plus hydrogen ice engines, fuel agnostic engines and 10,000 plus battery systems.
  • It is known that on July 28, Chief Minister Hemant Soren approved MoU between TGESPL and State Governments Industries Department for setting up of Hydrogen Internal Complutation Engine, Flight Agnostic Engine, Advanced Chemistry Battery, H2 Fuel Cell and H2 Fuel Delivery System Manufacturing Unit at Jamshedpur by M/s Tata Motors & M/s Cummins Inc., USA.
  • In this work, the latest technology of making hydrogen engine will be used. The capacity of hydrogen is more than that of other fuels. Besides being cheaper and lighter than other fuels, hydrogen fuel also has a higher energy label.
  • The whole country will benefit from the hydrogen fuel plant to be built in Jamshedpur.

Deputy CM gave awards to 25 AYUSH Institutions

Why is News?

On August 24, 2023, Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh and Minister of Health & Family Welfare T.S. Singhdev presented awards to 25 AYUSH institutions of the state for their outstanding work in promoting cleanliness, prevention of infection & waste management at the Kayakalp-AYUSH Award ceremony held at a private hotel in Raipur.

Key Points:

  • It is known that after evaluation of cleanliness, infection control and quality of health services in four stages, 25 AYUSH institutions found excellent were selected for these awards.
  • Kayakalp-AYUSH is being implemented in the state under National AYUSH Mission to provide quality health facilities along with promotion of cleanliness, infection prevention and waste management in AYUSH institutions as per the guidelines of the Union Ministry of AYUSH. Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country to do so.
  • After the introduction of Kayakalp-AYUSH, for the first time in the entire country, after the evaluation of AYUSH institutions in Chhattisgarh, the selected institutions were rewarded.
  • Kavita Garg, Joint Secretary of the Union Ministry of AYUSH and in-charge of the National AYUSH Mission, said that currently 400 AYUSH Health & Wellness Centers are functional in the state. The target given to Chhattisgarh for this, the state has achieved 100 percent.
  • Additional Chief Secretary of the Medical Education Department, Renu G. Pillai informed at the function that out of 1174 AYUSH institutions, 1054 institutions participated in Kayakalp-AYUSH.
  • In the programme, Director of AYUSH Department, Namrata Gandhi informed about the innovations being done for the strengthening of AYUSH institutions and quality health services. He also told about the medical facilities being provided by the department and evaluation of AYUSH institutions under Kayakalp-AYUSH.
  • District Ayurveda Hospital Jagdalpur got the first prize in the District Ayurveda Hospital category under Kayakalp-AYUSH. The co-founded AYUSH Wing in District Allopathy Hospital Jagdalpur and AYUSH Specialized Therapy Center Surajpur received the first prize in their respective categories.
  • These three institutions were given prize money of Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1.25 lakh respectively.
  • Ayush Specialized Therapy Center Dongargarh of Rajnandgaon district was given the second prize of Rs 50,000.
  • Three institutions from each division were awarded in the AYUSH dispensary category. They were given prize money of Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively as first, second and third prizes.
  • In Raipur division, first prize was given to Ayurveda dispensary Akalwara of Gariaband district, second prize to Ayurveda dispensary Parsapani of Dhamtari and third prize to Ayurveda dispensary Tekari (Julum) of Raipur.
  • Barra, Bhedwan and Samkera Ayurveda dispensaries of Raigad district in Bilaspur division were given first, second and third prizes respectively.
  • Homeopathy dispensary Wadrafnagar of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district under Surguja division got first prize, homeopathy dispensary Pendri of the same district second and Ayurveda dispensary Bandarchua of Jashpur district got third prize.
  • In Bastar division, first prize was given to Ayurveda dispensary Borgaon of Kondagaon district, second prize to Ayurveda dispensary Tarhul of Kanker district and third prize to Ayurveda dispensary Dabena of the same district.
  • Under Durg division, first prize was given to Ayurveda dispensary Padumtra of Rajnandgaon district, second prize to Ayurveda dispensary Vicharpur of Rajnandgaon and third prize to Ayurveda dispensary Singhangarh of Kabirdham.
  • Two AYUSH institutions each from Bilaspur, Surguja and Bastar divisions were awarded in the AYUSH center and specialty clinic category. In this category, Rs 75,000 was given as first prize and Rs 50,000 as second prize.
  • AYUSH Center Kanakbira of Raigarh district of Bilaspur division was awarded the first prize and AYUSH Specialty Clinic Lemru of Korba was awarded the second prize.
  • Under Surguja division, first prize was given to Ayush Specialty Clinic Basdei of Surajpur and second prize to Ayush Center Bhelwan of Jashpur.
  • Under Bastar division, first prize was awarded to Ayush Center Kottra of Kanker district and second prize to Ayush Center Anatpur of Kondagaon.

Dependents will get Rs. 2 lakh on death of PRD Jawans during duty

Why in News?

On August 24, 2023, in the Uttarakhand cabinet, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved the proposal to amend the welfare fund rules applicable to PRD jawans due to which the amount of one lakh received on the death of a jawan in the line of duty in communal riots has now been increased to two lakh rupees. At the same time, the amount of scholarship given to the children of soldiers has also been increased.

Key Points:

  • In the cabinet proposal, it was said that the announcement was made by the Chief Minister to make the assistance given to the volunteers of Prantiya Rakshak and Vikas Dal more useful.
  • According to the announcement of the Chief Minister, PRD jawans working in all departments of the state government will be given the benefit of social security insurance like home guards. For this, the consent of the Finance and Justice Department has been taken for amendment in the Welfare Fund Rules.
  • These proposals were approved:
  • Dependents will get Rs 1.5 lakh instead of Rs 75 thousand in case of death during special risk duty.
  • In case of death while on normal duty or traveling, instead of Rs 50,000, one lakh rupees will be given.
  • On permanent disability, half of the admissible amount will be given for higher category and one-fourth of the admissible amount on serious injury.
  • Dependents will get a maximum of one lakh rupees on death during treatment.
  • Ten thousand rupees will be given for cremation on death.
  • The soldiers who have served 3650 days will get one lakh rupees if they are removed from service due to any reason.
  • All jawans will be insured.
  • PRD jawan will get 50 thousand for loss due to disaster during duty and training.
  • Dependent students of unpaid members will get a scholarship of Rs 250 per month for the best 10 children on passing high school first class.
  • 1000 rupees per month scholarship will be given to 10 children who have passed class 12th in first division.
  • On admission to MBBS or engineering college and other courses, a scholarship of Rs 2,000 per month will be given for the duration of the course.
