Why in News?

On June 22, 2023, 'Shakti Didi' campaign has been launched under Mission Shakti for women's safety under the leadership of Gautam Budh Nagar Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh.

Key Points:

  • The 'Shakti Didi' campaign has been launched with an aim to reduce crime against women.
  • It is known that women living in high rise societies are often deprived of the state government's scheme. The benefits of government schemes for women will also be provided to women under 'Shakti Didi'.
  • Under Mission Shakti, 'Shakti Didi' campaign has been started, in which women of all classes of cities, villages and societies will be connected.

Social Justice & Empowerment Minister launches ‘Palanhar Face Recognition Renewal’ Mobile App

Why in News?

On June 22, 2023, Rajasthan Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Tikaram Juli launched the ‘Palanhar Face Recognition Renewal’ Mobile App under the Palanhar Scheme of the directorate's auditorium at Ambedkar Bhawan.

Key Points:

  • He said that the facility of self-verification and educational renewal of children will be available at their own level (door step service delivery) through mobile, which will also save time.
  • It is known that the Palanhar scheme is the flagship scheme of the state government. More than 7 lakh beneficiaries are being given the benefit of the scheme by the state government.
  • In order to make the process of annual verification/renewal easier, simpler and faster under the scheme, Palanhar mobile app has been developed using technology in addition to the existing verification/renewal methods.
  • To do annual physical verification/renewal through the App, Palanhar Mobile App and Face RD App have to be installed on Android mobile, Android tablet, mobile.
  • On starting the Palanhar mobile app, first of all, you have to enter the mobile number and get the OTP. Once the OTP received After the registration, the process of physical verification of the keeper will start, during which more than one keeper can also be verified during a session.
  • Provision has been made for annual verification through data available on Palanhar's Aadhaar portal through face recognition on Palanhar mobile app and annual academic renewal of children being registered in anganwadi center / studying in school.
  • At present, annual physical verification/renewal of parents/children is conducted by the department every year under the Palanhar Scheme, which is a regular process. At present, annual physical verification / renewal is being done by linking the Palanhar portal to the portals run by the departmental and other concerned departments while matching the aadhaar number of parents & children through online web service (API).

50% discount for Women in Roadways Buses Fares

Why in News?

On June 22, 2023, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has now approved the proposal to give 50 percent concession to women and girls for travelling in all categories of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation buses within the state limits.

Key Points:

  • According to the proposal, women and girls will be charged half the fare for travelling in all categories of corporation buses. At present, 50 percent concession was being given to women and girls only for travelling in ordinary class buses.
  • It is worth mentioning that in the budget 2023-24, the Chief Minister had announced to increase the concession given to women from 30 to 50 percent for travelling in ordinary roadways buses.
  • This announcement was also being implemented from April 1, 2023. Thereafter, on May 25, 2023, at the inauguration ceremony of the new bus terminal at Sindhi Camp, Jaipur, the Chief Minister announced the implementation of this concession in all categories of roadways buses. The Chief Minister has given this approval in the implementation of the said announcement.

New initiative of Chhattisgarh State Information Commission: Appellants will now be able to connect through mobile for hearing

Why in News?

On June 21, 2023, the Chhattisgarh State Information Commission has started a new initiative, in which the appellants will now be able to join the hearing of the second appeal through mobile. With this, the appellant sitting at home or from any other place can be directly present in the second appeal hearing with the help of mobile in video conferencing

Key Points:

  • It has been started on a trial basis in Chhattisgarh State Information Commission. The trial was conducted in the court of State Information Commissioner Manoj Trivedi and State Information Commissioner Dhanvendra Jaiswal.
  • In the second appeal under the RTI, several cases of Thakur Naval Singh from Bilaspur and Devashish from Kanker were heard. In this, the appellants attended the hearing from their mobile. The appellants got an opportunity to hear from home.
  • State Information Commissioner Manoj Trivedi asked the appellants to use a better network to connect through mobile connections so that the audio and video quality is good.
  • State Information Commissioner Dhanvendra Jaiswal said that till now the appellants were attending the hearing from the courtroom of the State Information Commissioner or the video conferencing room of the NIC located in the collectorate of the respective districts. Now you will also get the opportunity and facility to join from mobile.
  • Chhattisgarh State Information Commission Secretary G.R. Churendra said that work has been started on a trial basis at present to enable the candidates to attend the hearing of the Second Appeal of the State Information Commission with a mobile connection. In this, a link will be sent from the court of the State Information Commissioner to the registered mobile number of the appellants. Through that link, the appellants will be able to directly join the date of hearing in the case of a second appeal under the Right to Information Act 2005.

CM Dhami inaugurated Karpatri Maharaj Veda Shastra Research Centre

Why in News?

On June 22, 2023, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Ved Shastra Research Center in the memory of Swami Karpatri Maharaj at Shri Raghunath Kirti campus of Central Sanskrit University, Devprayag through virtual medium from the secretariat.

Key Points:

  • While inaugurating the virtual, the Chief Minister said that the Center has given this big gift to the state government, which is playing an important role in the promotion of Devvani Sanskrit. On making the center in the name of Karpatri Maharaj, he said that this will increase the importance of the campus.
  • It is known that Dharma Samrat Swami Karpatri was a saint, freedom fighter and politician of India. He was born in the year 1907 AD in the month of Shravan, Shukla Paksha Dwitiya, in Bhatni village of Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, in the courtyard of Sanatan Dharmi Saryuparin Brahmin Ramnidhi Ojha and Mrs. Shivrani ji.
  • In his childhood, he was named 'Hari Narayan'. He was a monk of the Dashnami tradition. After initiation, his name was 'Hariharanand Saraswati', but he was famous as 'Karpatri', because he used his Anjuli (cupped fingers) as a food vessel (kar = hand, vessel = pot, karpatri = whose hand is the utensil).
  • He also formed a political party named 'All India Ram Rajya Parishad'. In view of his unique and incomparable scholarship in theology, he was given the title of 'Dharma Samrat'.
  • In 1940, Swami Karpatri Maharaj re-converted people who were forcibly converted to Islam. In 1966, Karpatri Maharaj started a movement against the then government regarding cow promotion.
  • On February 7, 1982, at Kedar Ghat Varanasi, his Panch Pran voluntarily merged into Mahapran. As per his instructions, his mortal body was given water samadhi in the holy lap of Shri Ganga Maharani at Kedar Ghat.
