3rd T20 World Cup Blind Cricket Match

Why In News?

On November 22, 2022, The Madhya Pradesh Blind Cricket Association in association with the district administration is organizing the third T20 World Cup blind cricket match between India and Australia at Khalsa Stadium in Indore on December 10, 2022. For this, on November 22, 2022, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan unveiled the first poster at brilliant convention center.

  • Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that this is a big effort of the association. All possible support will be provided to the association by the state government.
  • Cricket organizer Dr. Anil Bhandari told that former player of Indian cricket team Yuvraj Singh is the brand ambassador of this World Cup. Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) affiliated to World Blind Cricket Limited (WBC) and Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled are organizing the third edition of T20 World Cup cricket tournament for the blind, which will be held in December-2022. Will be held in different cities of India.
  • Ten countries - Australia, Bangladesh, England, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and host India will participate in this mega event.
  • India is the only country to have won all formats of international championships, including the T20 World Cup in December 2012, the ODI World Cup in December 2014 and the T20 Asia Cup in January 2016.

65th National Pistol Shooting Championship

Why In News?

On November 22, 2022, players from Madhya Pradesh won the first medal in the team event in the 65th National Pistol Shooting Championship, which started at the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy, Bishan Khedi, Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh's Yashraj Yadav, Akshat Tambe and Hariom won the bronze medal in the 25m Junior Civilian Championship. Tamil Nadu won the gold medal and Punjab the silver medal in this event.

  • Similarly, in the 25m junior men's team event, Tamil Nadu won the gold medal, Haryana won the silver and Punjab won the bronze medal.
  • In the individual event of the National Pistol Championship, Mukesh Nela Valli of Andhra Pradesh won gold, Abhinav Chaudhary of Rajasthan won silver and Akshay Kumar of Rajasthan won bronze medal.
  • In the 25m Civilian Championship, again Mukesh Nela Valli of Andhra Pradesh added another gold medal to his tally. In the same event, Akshay Kumar of Rajasthan won silver and Meesak Punnudurai of Tamil Nadu won bronze.
  • Abhinav Deshpal of Uttarakhand won gold, Chetan Hanumant Sapkal of Maharashtra won silver and Shubham Vashisht of Haryana won bronze in the 25m Deaf Men’s event in the 65th National Pistol Shooting Championship.
  • Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia felicitated the winners with medals at the 65th National Pistol Shooting Championship.
  • On this occasion, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia said that apart from the National Shooting Championship, National Horse Riding and National Women's Boxing Championship are to be organized in the month of December in Madhya Pradesh. Khelo India Youth Games are being organized in 8 cities of Madhya Pradesh in January.
  • More than 5 thousand players are participating in this national championship.
  • The 65thNational Pistol Shooting Championship is being held from November 20 to December 10, 2022 .
