Data Centers will be Built in all Districts of Uttar Pradesh

Why In News?

  • On November 21, 2022, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra said that infrastructure for data centers will be developed by Vuewnow Infotech Company in every district of the state. In this regard, State Industrial Development Commissioner Arvind Kumar and Vuewnow Infotech Company MD Sukhvinder Singh Kharaur have signed an MoU worth Rs 13500 crore.

Key Points

  • Durga Shankar Mishra said that Uttar Pradesh is fast emerging as the preferred investment destination for global data center operators and after the signing of the MoU, the world's largest network of edge data centers will be established in the state.
  • He said that the state government is taking steps to create a world-class technology infrastructure in the state to boost per capita income. In this direction, data centers will be set up in the state.
  • The company's MD Sukhvinder Singh said that Vuewnow Infotech Company is committed to set up 750 data centers in all 75 districts of the state. The first pilot data Centre Morta by the company has already been commissioned in Ghaziabad.
  • The IT department has so far attracted an investment of Rs 75,000 crore to set up several hyperscale data Centre parks and units in the state, of which Rs 20,000 crore was launched during ground breaking ceremony 3.0 held in June 2022.

  • Bihar's Art, Culture and Youth Affairs Department has finalized a policy to encourage film making.
  • With films getting industry status, people engaged in film production will also get the benefits of subsidy, single window system and other facilities like the industry.
  • Under the new policy, if a producer shoots 75 percent of his film in Bihar, he will be given a subsidy according to the cost.
  • A single window system has been provided for taking all clearances related to film production, for which Bihar Film Production Corporation has been made the nodal agency.
  • At present, the benefit of subsidy will be available to those who make films in Hindi, Bhojpuri, Magahi, Maithili, Angika and Bajjika languages.
  • According to the new provision, if a film is awarded at a national and international festival, it will be given additional subsidy.
  • The new film policy also provides for subsidy to increase infrastructure in multiplexes and cinema halls. Right now, many cinema halls in the state are closed or not built in a modern way. In this, subsidy will be given according to the cost.
  • With this policy, the government hopes that employment opportunities will increase in the state, local artists and technicians will get employment and respect due to the shooting of films in the state. The State Film Development Corporation will prepare a list of such artists and technicians and also determine their remuneration.
  • For the development of the film, the government has taken responsibility from the Tourism Department and given it to the Art, Culture and Youth Department. The department has made the Film Development Corporation the nodal agency for this.
  • It is noteworthy that superhit films like Gandhi in Bihar, Manjhi The Mountain Man in Gaya and Half Girlfriend have been shot at Gandhi Ghat on the banks of Ganga in Patna.

Rs 993.51 Crore Approved for Expansion of Jaipur Metro

  • On November 21, 2022, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has given financial approval of Rs 993.51 crore for the construction of Phase 1-C of Jaipur Metro, taking an important decision towards making metro facility more accessible to Jaipurites.

  • This phase of Jaipur Metro will connect Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar, whose total length is 2.85 km. is. It has 2.26 km. There will be an underground and 0.59 km elevated part.
  • According to the proposal, after the construction of Phase 1-C of Jaipur Metro, metro will be able to operate from Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar on The Delhi-Agra Highway, which will improve the traffic system of the city. Also, metro facility will be available to the common man till Delhi-Agra highway.
  • It is noteworthy that in the budget of the financial year 2022-23, the Chief Minister had announced the construction of Phase 1-C and Phase 1-D while expanding the Jaipur Metro. In October 2022, financial approval of Rs 204.81 crore has been given for the construction of Phase 1-D of Jaipur Metro. At present, the metro is operated from Manasarovar to Badi Chaupar in Jaipur.

  • The Managing Director said that along with this, the officers of 15 districts also get the electricity problems and complaints resolved in their area in a timely manner.

  • It is known that 1798 Haat Bazaar Clinic Scheme is being operated in the state with the help of 429 medical mobile vehicles. So far, more than 62 lakh 47 thousand people have been provided medical facilities in the last 4 years through more than 1 lakh 28 thousand Haat Bazar Clinics.
  • Under the Haat Bazar Clinic Scheme, 10 types of tests and 60 types of medicines are being given free of cost. Under this scheme, medicines were distributed to more than 57 lakh 35 thousand people and more than 25 lakh people have undergone pathology tests.
  • In the Hot Bazaar Clinic scheme, pregnant mothers are being tested, infectious and non-communicable diseases are being tested, eye disease testing, malnutrition testing, skin diseases, diabetes, TB, leprosy, high blood pressure and HIV testing and family planning advice are being given to the people. Vaccination of infants and pregnant women is also being done in these clinics.
  • Health Secretary R. Prasanna said that under this scheme, patients are being sent to the nearest Primary Health Center, Community Health Center, District Hospital and Medical College for referral treatment as per the requirement. The number of patients coming to the Haat Bazaar clinic has increased from 18 to 72 in the last 4 years.
