Why in News

• On December 20, 2021, the three-day 'Vikramotsav-2021' focused on India's flourishing and re-awakening was inaugurated by Maharaja Vikramaditya Shodh Peeth with the presentation of the great drama 'Samrat Vikramaditya' in the Tribal Museum.

Key Points

• Shri Ram Tiwari, director of Maharaja Vikramaditya Shodhpeeth, said that the events centered on Emperor Vikramaditya have often been confined to Ujjain, whereas Vikram Kirti has been universal. With this view, Vikramotsav series is being brought out of Ujjain's park and brought to Bhopal for the first time.
• Apart from Bhopal, this function series will also be organized at cultural centers like Pune, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Patna, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh etc.
• Tiwari said that a series of lectures titled Bharat-Vikram has been started in Ujjain in the past, which will be organized in all the universities of Madhya Pradesh. This lecture series focused on India's Utkarsh and Renaissance is also planned to be organized in major cities of the country.
• On the first day of Vikramotsav, Vishala Cultural and Lokhit Samiti, Ujjain under the direction of Sanjay Malviya presented the great drama 'Samrat Vikramaditya'. Two more plays will be performed in the Vikramotsav, which will continue for three consecutive days.

Dev Shrimali's book 'Bichde Kai Bari Bari' Released

• Senior journalist Dev Shrimali's book 'Bichde Kai Bari Bari' was released on December 20, 2021 in Mansarovar Auditorium of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

• This book is based on the contribution of those journalists who have lost their lives during the discharge of their duty during the Corona period.
• On this occasion, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Girish Gautam said that this book is a kind of story in itself. Dev Shrimali has written this book to keep the memory of Corona warriors forever.
• The Speaker said that during the Corona period, many sections have played an important role in working together with the government, in which journalists are also prominent.
• While the media played an important role in making the general public aware of Corona, on the other hand the government was also warned from time to time. Today Madhya Pradesh is in a much better position in Covid-19 vaccination and the media has also played its role in making it a mass campaign.

Nirjharini Festival

• On December 20, 2021, the three-day 'Nirjharani Mahotsav' was launched by the Madhya Pradesh Government Culture Department in collaboration with the District Administration - Alirajpur.

Key Points

• Dedicated to the Amrit Mahotsav of 75^th Independence of the country and to express gratitude towards the memory of Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad and rivers, this festival is being organized in Rajwada campus from 20 to 22 December.
• On 20^th December, cultural education arts center committee, Rewa presented a presentation on tribal Bhagoria dance, Korku tribal Gadli-Thapti dance, Malwa folk dance, Gond tribal Dhandar dance, Rathwa tribal dance of Gujarat. Apart from this, a focused presentation was also given on the play 'Gagan Damama Bajyo', the contribution of megastar Chandrashekhar Azad and Bhagat Singh in the freedom struggle.
• On the second day on December 21, Bhil tribal dance, Nimar folk dance and forest resident Leela Natya Bhaktimati Shabari will be presented.
• On the third day on December 22, Bhil tribal dance, Bhariya tribal Bhadam dance and Vanvasi Leela Natya Nishadraj Guhya will be performed.

'Gothan Map' Mobile App

• On December 20, 2021, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched 'Gothan Map' (Gothan Multi Activity and Livelihood Management) mobile app developed by Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS-CHIPS) for Gothan Management in a program organized at his residence office.

Key Points

• Through this app, complete details of cow dung purchase, Gothan details, pasture and pardan, information on activities of self-help groups, infrastructure etc. will be available at a single click.
• The app, developed in-house by CHIPs, will have a Gothan wise database of Gothans operating across the state, with details of resources, activities, beneficiaries and services etc. available in the Gothans. Digital mapping of Gothans will be done through Geo-tagging, which will provide continuous accounting of resources of Gothans.
• A database of multi activities conducted by Self Help Groups will be prepared in each Gothan. This framework will enable accurate monitoring of key indices of Gothans. With this, the availability and marketing of the material produced in the Gothans and the accounts of the beneficiaries will be available.
• The App will have a robust digital evaluation mechanism for both Gothan affiliated Gothan Committees and Self-Help Groups for the State Government and a Gothan centric database ensuring accuracy. Based on this database, it will help in planning future activities in Gothans.
• New sources of livelihood will be identified through monitoring the trend and performance of income generating activities in Gothan. This will increase the income of the stakeholders and increase the scope for planning and promotion of the micro industry.

Released the book 'Prevention from Corona: A Cautionary Initiative'

• On December 20, 2021, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami released the book 'Prevention from Corona: A Vigilant Initiative' written by Dr. Santosh Kumar at the Chief Minister's residence.

Key Points

• This book includes the work and experiences done by health workers during the global pandemic Covid-19, prevention of the Covid epidemic and other important information.
• The Chief Minister said that this booklet would be helpful in getting health related information for every section of the society. He said that during the Covid epidemic, commendable work of public service was done by the doctors and health department personnel.
