Uttar Pradesh Dairy Development and Promotion of Milk Production Policy-2022
Why In News?
- On October 20, 2022, Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary of Milk Development Department Dr. Rajneesh Dubey notified the Uttar Pradesh Dairy Development and Milk Production Promotion Policy-2022.
Key Point
- Dr. Rajneesh Dubey said that the objective of this policy is to increase the level of milk processing from 10 to 25 percent and increase the milk available for the market from 44 to 65 percent and it will benefit from the establishment of a new unit manufacturing milk products such as cheese, ice cream etc. This policy will be effective for five years.
- The policy will also be available on purchase of milk station equipment, bulk milk coolers, refrigerated vans, cooling vans, road milk tankers, ice cream trolleys etc. for setting up cold chains.
- He said that for a minimum increase of 25 percent in the establishment or expansion of milk processing and milk products manufacturing dairy units in all the districts of the state, 10 percent of the cost of plant, technical civil works and spare parts, up to a maximum of Five crore rupees and five percent of the rate of interest payable on loans of plant machinery, technical civil works and spare parts, maximum 1000 crores of rupees will be given. In this, a maximum of Rs 7.50 crore will be given for five years for setting up a plant for a new animal feed and animal nutrition production unit.
- In this policy, 2.50 crore will be given for technical work and one crore for quality control equipment, such as automatic milk collection unit (other than cold chain).
- For the establishment of cold chain, one crore will be given for refrigerated vans, insulated vans, road milk tankers, bulk milk coolers, ice cream trolleys and 2.50 crores will be given for expansion.
- Two crore rupees will be given for the expansion of animal feed and animal nutrition products manufacturing unit. Two crore rupees will be given for setting up a plant of units manufacturing value-added milk products such as cheese, ice cream etc. under the Micro and Small Enterprises Sector. Payment, electricity charges will be reimbursed within a period of 10 years of installation of new units. exemption will be given under stamp duty policy.
- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state government will give Rs 20 lakh every year for branding milk products of Uttar Pradesh for three years and this amount will be Rs 40 lakh for export promotion and 50 percent of the total cost will be given for sending samples of the product to other countries. Apart from this, a grant of Five lakh rupees will also be given for standardization of products.
