Phase III of 'Mission Shakti'

Why in News

  • On August 21, 2021, the third phase of 'Mission Shakti' was launched in a program organized in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. This phase of 'Mission Shakti' will be conducted till December 31, 2021.

Key Points

  • State Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman participated in this program.
  • During this program, online transfer of grant money was done in the account of eligible beneficiary girls under 'Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangal Yojana'.
  • Apart from this, 75 women who made remarkable performances in the first and second phase of Mission Shakti were also honored.
  • On this occasion, various programs including the inauguration of 'Mission Shakti Cell' in 59 thousand gram panchayats, foundation stone of Veerangana Avantibai Battalion's courtyard in Badaun were completed.
  • It is to be known that for the safety, respect and self-reliance of women and girls, 'Mission Shakti' is being run by the state government.

Disposal of Cases in National Lok Adalat

Why in News

  • On August 20, 2021, Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court and Executive Chairman of Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari presented the highest number of cases in the National Lok Adalat in Gandhi Auditorium of Raj Bhavan, Top performing District Judges and Secretaries, District Legal Services Authority were honored for their excellent work in disposal.

Key Points

  • It is to be noted that in the Lok Adalat organized by the National Legal Services Authority on July 10, 2021, the state of Uttar Pradesh has got the first place in the settlement of maximum cases, on the occasion of which these district judges and secretaries have been honored.
  • The Chief Minister said that through this National Lok Adalat, more than 12 lakh cases were settled in the state, which is the highest in the country.
  • District and Sessions Judge Gorakhpur Durg Narayan Singh, District and Sessions Judge Siddharthnagar Pramod Kumar Sharma and District and Sessions Judge Rae Bareli Abdul Shahid were honored under District Judges (General Settlement).
  • District Judges/Presiding Officers were honored under Motor Accident Redressal Tribunal, Rajendra Pratap Singh of Agra district, Sanjay Singh of Aligarh district and Mayank Chauhan of Bareilly district.
  • Under the District Judges/Chief Justice Family Court, Rajkumar Bansal of Siddharthnagar district, Irfan Qamar of Meerut district and Mrs Anita Raj of Ghaziabad district were honored.
  • Secretaries of Aligarh, Bareilly, Agra, Gorakhpur, Rae Bareli, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Siddharthnagar and Lucknow under Secretary, District Legal Services Authority/Civil Judge (CD) Mahendra Kumar, Satyendra Singh Verma, Ms. Mukta Tyagi, Devendra Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Smt. Neha Rungta, Smt. Anju Kamboj, Chandramani and Dr. Satyawan Singh were honored.
  • Ashok Kumar Srivastava was honored under Secretary, High Court Legal Aid Committee.
