Phase III of 'Mission Shakti'
Why in News
- On August 21, 2021, the third phase of 'Mission Shakti' was launched in a program organized in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. This phase of 'Mission Shakti' will be conducted till December 31, 2021.
Key Points
- State Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman participated in this program.
- During this program, online transfer of grant money was done in the account of eligible beneficiary girls under 'Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangal Yojana'.
- Apart from this, 75 women who made remarkable performances in the first and second phase of Mission Shakti were also honored.
- On this occasion, various programs including the inauguration of 'Mission Shakti Cell' in 59 thousand gram panchayats, foundation stone of Veerangana Avantibai Battalion's courtyard in Badaun were completed.
- It is to be known that for the safety, respect and self-reliance of women and girls, 'Mission Shakti' is being run by the state government.

Disposal of Cases in National Lok Adalat
Why in News
- On August 20, 2021, Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court and Executive Chairman of Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari presented the highest number of cases in the National Lok Adalat in Gandhi Auditorium of Raj Bhavan, Top performing District Judges and Secretaries, District Legal Services Authority were honored for their excellent work in disposal.

- It is to be noted that in the Lok Adalat organized by the National Legal Services Authority on July 10, 2021, the state of Uttar Pradesh has got the first place in the settlement of maximum cases, on the occasion of which these district judges and secretaries have been honored.
- The Chief Minister said that through this National Lok Adalat, more than 12 lakh cases were settled in the state, which is the highest in the country.
- District and Sessions Judge Gorakhpur Durg Narayan Singh, District and Sessions Judge Siddharthnagar Pramod Kumar Sharma and District and Sessions Judge Rae Bareli Abdul Shahid were honored under District Judges (General Settlement).
- District Judges/Presiding Officers were honored under Motor Accident Redressal Tribunal, Rajendra Pratap Singh of Agra district, Sanjay Singh of Aligarh district and Mayank Chauhan of Bareilly district.
- Under the District Judges/Chief Justice Family Court, Rajkumar Bansal of Siddharthnagar district, Irfan Qamar of Meerut district and Mrs Anita Raj of Ghaziabad district were honored.
- Secretaries of Aligarh, Bareilly, Agra, Gorakhpur, Rae Bareli, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Siddharthnagar and Lucknow under Secretary, District Legal Services Authority/Civil Judge (CD) Mahendra Kumar, Satyendra Singh Verma, Ms. Mukta Tyagi, Devendra Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Smt. Neha Rungta, Smt. Anju Kamboj, Chandramani and Dr. Satyawan Singh were honored.
- Ashok Kumar Srivastava was honored under Secretary, High Court Legal Aid Committee.

Inauguration of New Projects in Kota District
Why in News
- On August 20, 2021, Rajasthan's Medical and Public Relations Minister Dr. Raghu Sharma and Autonomous Government Minister Shanti Dhariwal inaugurated new works worth Rs 16.53 crore, giving a new gift to Kota district in the field of medicine.

- He dedicated the following works-
- Inaugurated the newly constructed MDRU Lab costing Rs 525 lakh in the medical college, on which Rs 47.44 lakh will be spent for one year operation.
- Flagged off Ambulance with negative pressure with 3 life saving equipment costing Rs 99.75 lakh.
- In the budget announcement the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Kidney Transplant Unit at the Medical College Hospital itself at a cost of 800 lakhs.
- Plantation was also done by inaugurating the Oxygen Generation Plant constructed at a cost of 115.94 lakh in the Super Specialty Hospital.
- Inaugurated the newly installed 4-D color Doppler sonography machine at JK Lone Hospital at a cost of Rs.65 lakhs. With this, the malformation of the baby in the womb, especially the congenital organs, will be checked, it will be facilitated in the diagnosis of diseases related to women and the child, and it can also be done sonography of muscles and joints.
- Shanti Dhariwal said that now medical facilities will be available in Kota similar to SMS Hospital Jaipur. This will directly benefit the patients coming from the state of Madhya Pradesh including the entire Hadoti.
- Dr. Sharma said that the infant mortality rate in Kota has come down due to expansion of medical facilities. The mortality rate was 7.62 percent in 2014, which was 6.84 percent in 2020 and the neonatal mortality rate has come down from 19 percent to 17.63 percent.

New Flights Launched
Why in News
- On August 20, 2021, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched new IndiGo flights from Jabalpur to Delhi, Indore and Mumbai through video conference with Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Key Points
- Air service from Jabalpur to Mumbai and Delhi started from 20th August and air facility will be available from Jabalpur to Hyderabad and Indore from 28th August. Similarly, airlines will also start from Indore to Mumbai and Jabalpur from August 28.
- During this, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan requested Union Minister Scindia to name the Jabalpur airport after 'Rani Durgavati'.
- Sometime back 424 flights per week were operating from different places of Madhya Pradesh, which has now increased to 588 per week
- With the increase in air connectivity in Jabalpur, industrial and economic development of the area will happen and tourists will also get facilities. For the expansion of Jabalpur airport, the state government has transferred more than 730 acres of land.
- Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that a plan of Rs 421 crore has been approved for the expansion of the airport in Jabalpur. Terminal building construction, ATC tower and runway length extension will be completed by December 2022.
- It is worth mentioning that the UDAN plan has plans to introduce 1000 air routes and establish one hundred airports by 2025, out of which 363 routes and 59 airports have been established.

- Madhya Pradesh Tourism has been awarded as the Best Wildlife and Ecotourism State and Best State for Tourism Marketing Campaign at the 7th edition of ITCTA B2B International Tourism Expo & Conclave, 2021 held at Le Meridien Hotel, New Delhi on August 20, 2021

- In the award ceremony, Chief Guest Principal Secretary Tourism and Public Relations Shiv Shekhar Shukla presented the awards and started the function with the ceremonial lamp.
- The award for Best Wildlife and Ecotourism was received by Deputy Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism, Yuvraj Padole and the award for Best Tourism Marketing Campaign was received by Deepika Roy Choudhury, Deputy Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism.
- It is noteworthy that Madhya Pradesh is full of rich wildlife. It has a forest area of 77 ,700 square kilometer, with 11 national parks and 24 wildlife sanctuaries with many wildlife hotspots.
- Madhya Pradesh has recently got the status of 'The Leopard State' and 'Gharial State' along with 'Tiger State', which reflects the efforts of wildlife conservation.
- To actively promote state tourism, the tourism department has organized various promotional programs like Orchha Cultural Festival, Mandu Festival, Jal Mahotsav, Go Heritage Run, Cycle Safari and Elephant Safari. It has also organized social media campaigns like Buffer Mein Safar, Intezaar Aapka, Intezaar Khatm hua, Monsoon Magic, Sab Kuch Jo Dil Chahhe etc.
- In this event, Yuvraj Padole also gave a brief presentation on tourism attractions of Madhya Pradesh and initiatives like wildlife safaris, adventure activities, water sports, responsible tourism, wellness and mindful tourism etc.

Chief Minister Baghel Inaugurates Shaheed Smarak English Medium School

- On August 20, 2021, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel dedicated a refurbished Shahid Smarak English Medium School in Raipur.

- Earlier it was a municipal corporation-run Hindi medium school, which has now been brought under Swami Aatmanand Utkrishtha Vidyalaya Scheme.
- The building has been refurbished and the school has been transformed not only qualitatively but aesthetically too.

Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana

- On August 20, 2021, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel transferred Rs 1,522 crore as the second installment to 21 lakh farmers of the state under the 'Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana'.
Key Points
- In a function organized on 'Sadbhavana Diwas', the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi, Baghel E-transferred Rs 1 522 crore to the bank accounts of 21 lakh paddy and sugarcane growing farmers of the state.
- Out of the amount released to the farmers, an amount of Rs 1500 crore was transferred to the account of paddy growing farmers and Rs 22 crore three lakh was transferred to the account of sugarcane growing farmers.
- Apart from this, he also transferred a total amount of Rs 9.03 crore online to the cow dung purchased from animal farmers and collectors and to the Gothan Samitis and women self-help groups under the 'Rajiv Gandhi Godhan Nyay Yojana'.
