Storks and Stuff Wild Animal Museum in Zoological Park for Crane

Why in News?

  • On July 20, 2022, in the meeting of the Shaheed Ashfaq Ulla Khan Zoological Park Committee held under the chairmanship of Manoj Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Forest and Environment Department of Uttar Pradesh, the park was to be constructed for the state's state bird Crane and Stuff Wild Animal Museum in the park. The decision was taken.

Key Points

  • In the Shaheed Ashfaq Ullah Khan Zoological Park, an enclosure will be built for the state's state bird Crane with Rs 25 lakh. The rescued cranes will be kept in the zoo.
  • Apart from this, the meeting also approved the development of an intervention center at a cost of Rs.25 lakh, where a stuff wild animal museum will be constructed, among other works.
  • In the meeting, Dr. H. Raja Mohan, Director of Zoological Park, said that permission would be sought by sending a letter to the Central Zoological Park Authority about building a crane enclosure.
  • Built over an area of 121 acres, 387 wild animals of 58 species have been kept in this zoological park. Enclosures and caves have been built here for animals like Babbar Lions , Gharials, Deer, Bears, Vultures, Leopards, various types of monkeys, etc. Aquariums have also been built for fish.
  • Apart from this, houses have also been built in the zoological park for colorful butterflies coming from different countries of Asia. This is the first time that a butterfly house has been built in a zoological park.
  • It is noteworthy that on March 27, 2021, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the only zoological park of Purvanchal 'Ashfaq Ulla Khan Zoological Park' in Gorakhpur district.

Rajasthan's First Virtual Court Inaugurated

Why in News?

  • On July 20, 2022, Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court S.S. Shinde e-inaugurated the first virtual court of Rajasthan in the presence of the judges of Rajasthan High Court and officers of the registry.

Key Points

  • Chief Justice Shinde said on the occasion that a new concept of Virtual Court has been introduced under the E-Courts project to deal with the cases of minor traffic offenses under the Motor Vehicles Act. The objective of this concept is to eliminate the requirement of physical presence of the violator or advocate in the court and save the time and manpower of the court.
  • It is noteworthy that under this arrangement, all the challans generated online from the traffic branch, Jaipur and various police stations of Jaipur will be presented in the virtual court in the form of e-challan. The virtual court will be able to impose fines in respect of them by passing judicial orders online.
  • The general public will receive the information of the judicial order through a message and the e-challan can be settled by depositing the amount of money online. While this process will facilitate the police department and the justice department, the public will also be greatly facilitated.
  • Mobile Magistrate Court order-2 of Jaipur district has been given the charge of virtual court. For this, software has also been made under the e-court project, which is being used successfully in various states.
  • The objective of this system is to save the general public from going through a long judicial process by coming to the courts for small cases, which can be disposed of only on deposit of the amount of money, and to save the time taken in the process from the registration of these cases in the courts to the disposal, so that the remaining time can be used for disposal of serious and old cases.

'Bright India, Bright Future Energy 2047' Celebration

Why in News?

  • On July 20, 2022, Ganesh Shankar Mishra, Managing Director of Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company, Bhopal, informed that according to the instructions of the Union Ministry of Power, from 25 to 30 July, 2022 in 16 districts of Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Gwalior and Chambal divisions of the company's work area. In the Amrit Mahotsav of Madhya Azadi, Bright India, Bright Future Energy 2047' celebrations will be organized.

The Country's Animal Training Program 'A-HELP'

Why in News?

  • According to the information given by the Public Relations Department of Madhya Pradesh on July 20, 2022, 'A-HELP' training program will be jointly launched in the country from Bhopal on July 23 by the Union Ministry of Rural Development and Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.

Key Points

  • This program will be held in the Golden Jubilee Auditorium of the Academy of Administration. A symbol will also be released in it.
  • In the program, such women members of self-help groups registered in the State Rural Livelihood Mission, who are helping in various animal husbandry activities in the form of Pashu Sakhi, are known as 'A-HELP' (Accredited Agent for Health and Extension of Livestock Production).
  • 'A-HELP' are community based women activists, who assist veterinarians in local departmental work, help livestock farmers to take loans for entrepreneurship development, fill applications, mark the ear tagging of animals and register them on the INAF portal Will help with insurance etc.
  • The help of 'A-HELP' can be taken for cooperation in the implementation of various schemes and in providing information to the livestock farmers at the grassroots level. This will also provide a source of income to 'A-HELP'.

Oxygen Plant at Uchana Civil Hospital

Why in News?

  • On July 20, 2022, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala inaugurated the newly constructed oxygen plant at Uchana Civil Hospital in Jind district.

Key Points

  • With the establishment of this oxygen plant, Uchana and its surrounding areas will get better and convenient health services. This oxygen plant has the capacity to produce 250 liters of oxygen per minute, which will provide relief for the treatment of patients in case of emergency.
  • Significantly, during the Corona epidemic, patients were suffering due to lack of oxygen in areas like Uchana. Now it has become a permanent solution in future.
  • With the setting up of the oxygen plant, emergency patients suffering from serious illnesses will now get relief from the risk of going to PGI Rohtak or other major medical institutions and they will also get quick treatment.
  • Dushyant Chautala said that the basement and shed of this oxygen plant, built at a cost of Rs 45 lakhs under Honda India Foundation, courtesy of CSR, have been built on the basis of best and latest technology at the modern level.
  • Each bed of the hospital has been connected through pipelines to this plant built with modern technology, on which emergency patients will be provided free oxygen facility on all 30 beds of the hospital.
  • The capacity of this oxygen plant is to provide oxygen on 50 beds continuously. Apart from this, 55 big i.e. jumbo cylinders can also be made available every 24 hours as per the requirement.

Three National Highway Projects in Haryana

Why in News?

  • On July 19, 2022, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari along with Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar dedicated Three National Highway projects in the state from Gurugram.

Key Points

  • Nitin Gadkari inaugurated Three National Highway projects constructed at a cost of Rs. 3450 crore, including elevated highway from Gurugram to Sohna, four lane road from Rewari to Ateli Mandi on NH-11 and four lane from Kherdi Mor to Haluwas village via Bhiwani bypass. Project included.
  • Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Gadkari said that National Highways are being constructed in Haryana at a cost of about Rs 50,000 crore. 1015 kms. Green Field Expressway and Green Field Corridor are being constructed.
  • He said that the construction of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is going on at a cost of about Rs.1 lakh crore.The expressway starts from Sohna in Gurugram district.
  • Gadkari said that in the next five years, e-vehicles are being promoted to eliminate the use of petrol in vehicles. The central government is also planning to provide 50,000 e-buses. Haryana should also start e-buses on the same lines. E-bus costs 41 rupees 25 paise per km. the expenses come.This will reduce pollution from petrol and diesel.
  • Nitin Gadkari asked Chief Minister Manohar Lal to stop farmers from burning stubble as fuel is made from stubble. The price of the stubble will be Rs 2,000 per tonne and it will make bitumin, which NHAI is ready to buy.
  • He also stressed on the use of ethanol and said that instead of diesel and petrol pumps, ethanol pumps should be installed in Haryana and all vehicles should run on ethanol. This will save half the money of the drivers and will also get relief from pollution.

Inauguration of Newly Constructed Cricket Stadium in Kumhari

Why in News?

  • On July 20, 2022, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated a cricket stadium built at a cost of Rs. 4.5 crore in Kumhari, a municipal council in Durg district.

  • The Chief Minister also inaugurated construction works worth Rs.42 crore and performed bhoomi pujan on the occasion. These works include dedication work worth Rs. 10 crore and bhoomi pujan work worth Rs. 31 crore.
  • The Chief Minister also announced to name the stadium after late Minimata on the proposal of the citizens of Kumhari.
  • The Chief Minister lauded the construction work of the stadium and said that the fine infrastructure of such a sport will boost the morale of the players and help in nurturing the sporting talent in the pottery.

Purchase of Arhar, Urad and Moong at support price

Why in News?

  • According to the information given by the Chhattisgarh Public Relations Department on July 20, 2022, the state government will purchase tur, urad and moong from the farmers at support price in the Kharif marketing year 2022-23.

Key Points

  • The Department of Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare and Biotechnology has issued detailed guidelines for procurement of Arhar, Urad and Moong crops at minimum support price to all the Divisional Commissioners, Collectors along with Markfed and Mandi Board.
  • The procurement of urad and moong will be done from October 17, 2022 to December 16, 2022 and arhar in the period from March 13, 2023 to May 12, 2023 .
  • These will be procured through Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Marketing Federation Markfed. Arhar and urad will be procured from the farmers at the rate of Rs 6,600 and moong at the rate of Rs 7,755 per quintal.
  • 25 agricultural produce mandis with storage facilities have been identified as procurement centres for procurement of arhar, moong and urad.
  • Bhatapara, Gariaband, Mahasamund, Basna, Durg, Bemetara, Rajnandgaon, Khairagarh, Dongargarh, Gandai, Kawardha, Pandaria, Mungeli, Lormi, Sakti, Raigad, Ambikapur, Surajpur, Ramanujganj, Jashpur, Kondagaon, Keshalpur, Pashkal, The purchase of Arhar, Moong and Urad will be done at the support price in the agricultural market.
  • Necessary physical resources, equipments and human resources at the procurement centre will be arranged by Markfed.
  • After registering the farmer on the 'Unified Farmer Portal', the available data will be given to NAFED. The data will be integrated by NAFED in the E-Samridhi portal for procurement and tagging of the above farmers will be done from the selected procurement centers. On the basis of the data, the payment will be made by purchasing it from the farmers. Field verification and random verification of farmers' land, area sown crop etc. will be done.
  • In addition to ensuring the performance of FAQ product for general knowledge of the farmers in the procurement centres, it will also be ensured that arhar, urad and moong of FAQ standard are not sold at the procurement centre at less than the support price. Intensive monitoring of procurement of FAQ quality will be done.
  • A state-level joint team will be constituted with NAFED for random sampling to oversee the procurement work of the procurement centre from preparation to collection. A printed receipt of the quantity purchased from the farmer, mentioning the amount due, will be signed by the earning centre in-charge and given to the farmer.
  • It is worth mentioning that in the Kharif season 2022, the state has a target of cultivating Arhar in one lakh 40 thousand hectares, moong in 22 thousand hectares and urad in one lakh 75 thousand hectares. The production of 94,500 metric tonnes of tur, 12,100 metric tonnes of moong and 70,000 metric tonnes of urad is estimated by the Agriculture Department in the state.
