Uttarakhand got the award for Best State in Adventure Tourism

Why in News?

According to information received from the media on December 19, 2023, Uttarakhand has been awarded the best state award in adventure tourism.

Key Points

• This award was presented to Uttarakhand by the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI).
• This award program was held in Kevadiya, Gujarat where Uttarakhand Secretary Tourism Sachin Kurve received the award.
• Secretary Tourism Sachin Kurve said that for the first time a Paragliding Acro Festival was organised in Tehri Lake, in which 54 pilots from 26 countries participated.
• Secretary Tourism Sachin Kurve said that Aero Safari with Gyrocopter has been started in the country from Uttarakhand.
• It should be noted that Uttarakhand has a lot of potential in river rafting, paragliding, aero sports, mountaineering, trekking etc.
