15 CHCs In Uttar Pradesh To Run On PPP Mode

Why in News?

  • On October 18, 2022, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who also holds the charge of the health department, informed that the state government will run 15 community health centres (CHCs) in districts, including Lucknow, on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis.

Key Point

  • Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said the CHC will have 24-hour emergency service, free admission, medicine and diagnostic services.
  • The selected community health centres are Nagaram in Lucknow, Gajokhar in Varanasi, Khadanna in Kushinagar, Belaghat in Gorakhpur, Rajapur in Chitrakoot, Malhipur in Shravasti, Chandan Chowki in Lakhimpur Kheri, Vishwarganj in Bahraich, Bhogwara in Chandauli, Adanna Bazar in Maharajganj, Sukhpura in Ballia, These include Dapsaura in Fatehpur, Babhani in Sonbhadra, Khajuria in Balrampur and Sirsia in Siddharth Nagar.
  • Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that this experiment will be a step towards ensuring better health facilities in the CHC and latest medical equipment will be installed there as per the requirement.

Uttar Pradesh Announces Textile and Apparel Policy

Why in News?

  • Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government announced the Uttar Pradesh Textile and Apparel Policy with an aim to attract new investments and make Uttar Pradesh a hub of textile and apparel industry.

Key Point

  • The Uttar Pradesh Textile and Apparel Policy was approved in a meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on October 13, 2022.
  • Announcing the policy, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Rakesh Sachan said the policy is employment oriented and aims to attract fresh investment of Rs 10,000 crore and create over 5 lakh new jobs.
  • The main objective of the new policy is to establish the State as a global level apparel manufacturing hub and sustainable development of all types of units related to textile industry such as handloom, powerloom, spinning, weaving, processing and apparel.
  • Minister Rakesh Sachan said the textile and apparel policy has been formulated after consulting all stakeholders and taking care of their concerns. To make the policy investor friendly, several processes have been made online and a help desk has been set up for the convenience of investors.
