Geo-Tagging of Every State Building

Why in News?

  • On October 18, 2022, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved the proposal to geo-tagging the assets, schemes and works of various departments and undertakings of the state through geographical information system (GIS) and linking them to the map. For this, financial approval of Rs 153.80 crore has been given initially.

Key Point

  • With this approval of the Chief Minister, now all the departments will be able to link geospatial data of their assets, facilities, schemes and programs to the GIS-based platform through the state-wide GIS system. This will facilitate decision making and inspection regarding resource collection and distribution, policy planning of various schemes and programmes.
  • With the above decision, the land-marked survey of various departmental schemes and works will improve service delivery at the regional level. Better management of resources during disaster or pandemic will also be possible through this system. Also, all the state buildings of the state will be available on the same map and it will be easy for the common man to reach these buildings.
  • It is noteworthy that a mobile app has been developed under geo-tagging. The app is being used extensively by various departments, such as Women and Child Development Department, PHED, Ground Water Department, Medical and Health Department etc.
  • GIS is a system designed to collect, store, modify and analyze data regarding geographical conditions on the earth's surface. At the same time, data management and submission can also be done through this system.

124 New Veterinary Sub-Centres in State

Why in News?

  • On October 18, 2022, Animal Husbandry Minister Lalchand Kataria informed that 124 new veterinary sub-centres have been opened in various districts in compliance with the budget announcement of the Chief Minister.

Key Point

  • Lalchand Kataria said that as per the budget announcement of the financial year 2022-23, the state government has issued an order and opened 124 new veterinary sub-centres in veterinary village panchayats. With the opening of new sub-centers, cattle rearers will get better medical services and quick benefits of departmental schemes near them.
  • He said that 17 in Jaipur, 10 in Dausa, 8 in Dholpur, 7 in Pali, 6-6 in Churu, Jaisalmer, Barmer and Bharatpur, 5-5 in Alwar, Dungarpur, Jalore and Jodhpur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Nagaur and Chittorgarh; Four new veterinary sub-centres have been opened in Banswara and Tok, two each in Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Karauli and Kota and one each in Bundi, Hanumangarh, Sriganganagar and Pratapgarh.

Sewerage Treatment Plants To Be Set Up In Hospitals

Why in News?

  • On October 18, 2022, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved a budget of Rs 20 crore for the sewerage treatment plant to be built for the disposal of liquid and solid waste of hospitals.

Key Point

  • With this approval of Chief Minister Gehlot, sewerage treatment plants will be established in major hospitals of the state, RUHS, SMS Hospital, Janana Hospital, Women's Hospital Jaipur, Mahatma Gandhi Hospital Jodhpur, PBM Hospital Bikaner and Medical College Kota and liquid and solid waste of hospitals can be disposed of.
  • These environmentally necessary sewerage treatment plants will be constructed by RUIDP. 50 percent of the cost for the construction of the plant will be borne by the Medical Education Department and 50 percent by the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board.
  • It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had announced in the budget to set up sewerage treatment plants in major hospitals of the state to dispose of liquid and solid waste while taking an important initiative towards preventing environmental pollution in the state.
