Faridabad Railway Station will be Redeveloped on the Lines of a World Class Station
Why In News?
- On September 15, 2022, Union Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries Krishan Pal Gurjar informed that Faridabad railway station has been selected to make Faridabad railway station a world-class railway station under the ambitious plan of redevelopment of railway stations of Indian Railways.
Key Points
- Union Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries Krishan Pal Gurjar said that major upgradation works will be done for the convenience of railway passengers at this railway station through redevelopment works.
- The total amount of the project is Rs 262 crore. Under the proposed scheme, iconic buildings will be built on both sides at Faridabad station. Along with this, there will be separate arrival and departure facilities like the airport at the railway station.
- There will be multi-level car parking on both sides of the station. The 72-metre wide furnished space will be on either side of the railway station. Two foot-over-bridges of 12 meters wide will also be built here, so that barrier-free movement can be done.
- Apart from this, other facilities including waiting room area, food court with more capacity and space will also be developed here.
- The new proposal also provides for facility for local transport in the railway station premises itself. Along with this, the railway station building will be redeveloped on the lines of smart and green building.

HAU's Krishi Vigyan Kendra got the Best Center Award at the National Level
Why In News?
- On September 14, 2022, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar conferred the best Krishi Vigyan Kendra award at the national level to Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Krishi Vishwavidyalaya's Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mahendragarh at the Outlook Summit and Swaraj Puraskar-2022 event held in New Delhi.

- It is noteworthy that 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras from all the 11 Agricultural Technical Application Institutes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, including Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mahendragarh, had applied for this prestigious award, out of which the said center was selected for the award.
- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mahendragarh will get this prestigious award for wide dissemination of innovative technologies through farm demonstrations, setting up of enterprise units under Project (ARYA) to attract youth in agriculture, accurate weather information to farmers under Rural Agro Weather Service at the right time, with nutrient sensitive agricultural resources and innovation among women working in agriculture. Along with this, self-employment of scheduled caste youth through various trainings, balanced use of fertilizers on the basis of soil health card for land improvement and time-bound implementation of various projects run by the government for the upliftment of farmers have been provided.
