Flatted Factory Complex

Why In News?

  • On September 17, 2022, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath virtually laid the foundation stone of the proposed flatted factory complex at PPDC in Foundry Nagar, Tajnagari Agra.

Key Points

  • The foundation stone of this flatted factory project, to be built at a cost of Rs 125 crore, was to be laid in Navratri, but the Chief Minister changed the foundation stone program and laid its foundation stone on The Birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • In this first flat factory premises of the state, 200 entrepreneurs will be able to set up their factories under one roof. The proposed flat factory on 21,500 square meters of land will have a construction area of four lakh square feet. Nine lifts will be installed in the five-storey building.
  • Uttar Pradesh Small Industries Corporation Vice Chairman Rakesh Garg said that a 3 MW substation, rain water prevention and solar energy will be arranged in the eco-friendly factory premises. The entrepreneur can start his work as soon as he comes to the flatted factory complex. Here he just has to plug on by putting his machinery, with this, their production will start.
  • According to Rakesh Garg, the factory space will be provided to the entrepreneurs at the actual cost price. The industry recorded in the non-polluting white category will be given priority to the garment industry, while new startups will also find a place here. With a garment factory in one place, the buyers coming will get the facility to place all the orders at one place. A display and auditorium will also be built here.
  • Some important things of the state's first flattened factory-
    • Industrial units will be set up in the four-storey complex.
    • The proposed building at Foundry Nagar will be spread over 21,500 square metres.
    • One lakh square feet area will be used on each floor.
    • Nine lifts will be installed for luggage, employees.
    • A support facility area will be built for industry related supplies on the ground floor.
    • Canteen facility will be available for the employees.
    • Rainwater harvesting, solar panels, STPs will be built.
    • There will be zero discharge campus, separate electricity substation.
    • An 18-metre wide road will be constructed on both sides of the campus.
    • Administrative building blocks will be created for industries.

512 New Indira Cooks Inaugurated

Why In News?

  • On September 18, 2022, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot inaugurated 512 new Indira Rasoi in the state. After the operation of these new cooks, the number of Indira cooks in the state will increase to 870.

Key Points

  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister also felicitated Indira Rasoi operators of various districts of the state for their outstanding work. He congratulated the representatives of the associate institutions, Panther Education Society Jodhpur, Vidya Jan-Jagran Sansthan Dholpur, Shrinath Shikshan Training and Health and Social Welfare Society Rawatsar, wearing momentos and safas and representatives of Shri Manav Seva Samiti Bhilwara, Touch Stone Foundation Jaipur and Mewar Disabled Service Institute Chittorgarh. He was honoured with a letter and a memento.
  • The Chief Minister said that in the country, self- Indira Gandhi first gave the slogan of 'Garibi Hatao' for the welfare of the poor, backward and deprived. With this spirit, 'Indira Rasoi Yojana' is being operated by the state government to provide nutritious food to the common man with full respect and service.
  • The Chief Minister said that through the 'Indira Rasoi Yojana', launched with the resolution of 'no one should sleep hungry', nutritious food was provided by the government during the Corona period. During the Corona period, free food was also arranged for the economically weaker people.
  • The benefit of this scheme is being received by all sections of people including students and laboure's. Through this scheme, nutritious and full food is being made available to the common man for just Rs 8. The government is giving a grant of Rs 17 per plate in this scheme.
  • So far, more than 7 crore nutritious and delicious food plates have been served to the common man from 358 Indira cooks. With the establishment of 512 new cooks, a target has been set to take this number to about 14 crore. Soon more cooks will be started and the number of Indira cooks will be increased to 1000 as per the budget announcement.

Cricket Academy to be Established in Jodhpur

Why In News?

  • On September 18, 2022, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced the setting up of Rajasthan cricket association's cricket academy in Jodhpur while addressing the dedication ceremony of renovation works at Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur.

Key Points

  • On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Rajasthan Cricket Association (ACA) and Jodhpur Development Authority (JDA) under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. O. U.) signed. It was signed by the Secretary of RCA and JDA. With this, the JDA handed over the responsibility of managing and operating the stadium to RCA.
  • It is noteworthy that various renovation works have been carried out by Jodhpur Development Authority at Barkatullah Khan Stadium at a cost of Rs 31 crore. These include gyms for players, 26,000 chairs, physio room, anti-doping room, press conference hall, media room, besides two red clay and three black clay pitches in the main ground and practice ground.
  • The Chief Minister said that the upcoming budget will be dedicated to the youth, including sportspersons. He appealed to the youth to give suggestions regarding the budget and said that at the time of budget, the suggestions will be seriously considered and a welfare budget will be made.
  • Referring to the operation of English medium schools for education according to global needs and 'Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana', he talked about providing smart phones to one crore 35 lakh women of the state, in which internet facility will be available free of cost for 3 years. This will facilitate children's online education etc.

State's First Handicrafts Policy and Rajasthan MSME Policy-2022

Why In News?

  • On September 17, 2022, Rajasthan Industries and Commerce Minister Shakuntala Rawat released the state's first handicraft policy and Rajasthan MSME Policy-2022. This will not only lead to industrial development in the state, but will also increase the employment opportunities of craftsmen, artisans and artisans.

  • Minister Shakuntala Rawat was addressing the Udyog Ratna, and Export Award function organized on the occasion of Rajasthan MSME Day in Jaipur. The commerce minister also released a coffee table book 'Rajasthani Artifacts' prepared on the handicrafts of Rajasthan on the occasion.
  • On this occasion, 29 exporters were honored with Export Promotion Awards and 13 entrepreneurs were also awarded Udyog Ratna Awards for their excellent performance in various categories.
  • Apart from this, investment MoUs worth Rs 14,000 crore were also exchanged with 29 entrepreneurs for the Invest Rajasthan Summit.
  • The industries minister said that with the implementation of the first handicraft policy of the state, artisans of textile, metal and wood, carpet, carpet, namda, ceramic and clay, painting, leather craft, jewelery etc. will be benefited and in the next 5 years in the field of handicrafts. More than 50 thousand new employment opportunities will be available.
  • He said that the objective of Rajasthan Handicrafts Policy-2022 is to provide better marketing system for the upliftment of handicrafts, revive traditional arts and extinct arts and create new employment opportunities.

Maha Upbhokta Lok Adalat

Why In News?

  • On September 17, 2022, the registrar of Madhya Pradesh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Alka Srivastava told that the commission's chairman Justice Shantanu S. Under the guidance of Kemkar, on November 12, 2022, Maha Upbhokta Lok Adalat will be organized in all consumer courts at the district level.

1.76 Lakh Children were Treated under 'Chirayu' scheme

Why In News?

  • According to the information given by the Chhattisgarh Public Relations Department on September 18, 2022, one lakh 76 thousand children of the state were treated through the 'Chirayu' scheme under the National Child Health Program.

Key Points

  • Under the 'Chirayu' scheme, 3081 children suffering from various heart diseases, 603 with lip and palate deformities, 670 with clubfoot and 334 children with congenital cataract have been treated since December 18, 2018.
  • So far, 21 thousand 96 children have been treated in this financial year 2022-23 under the 'Chirayu' scheme.
  • There are 330 Chirayu teams working across the state to take care of child health. They go to schools and anganwadis across the state to check the health of children and identify their physical deficiencies and diseases and arrange free treatment.
  • These children are also marked and registered under Viva Yojna through Mitanin and ANM. These children are examined by the Viva team at a high level and are operated in contracted hospitals.
  • The Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram has been operational in the state since 2014. It aims to provide early treatment by screening for 4D, i.e. defect at birth, disease, deficiency and development delays including disability, in children aged from zero to 18 years.
  • Under this, 44 types of diseases are identified and examined and treated in children. Referrals are also made to higher institutions if needed.
  • Under the 'Chirayu' scheme, health check-up of newborns aged six weeks from birth is done by delivery point staff, children aged six weeks to six years in Anganwadi centers and children between six years and 18 years of age in government and grant-in-aid schools by Chirayu teams.

New Education Policy can be Implemented in Higher Education

Why In News?

  • According to the information received from the media on September 18, 2022, after the primary level in Uttarakhand, the new education policy can be implemented in higher education this month. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will launch a new policy in higher education.

  • Uttarakhand Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that the curriculum has been prepared under the new education policy in higher education. The annual examination system was implemented due to lack of faculty in universities and colleges, but now it will be abolished and the semester system will be implemented.
  • In the curriculum prepared under the new education policy, 70 percent of the curriculum will be applicable equally in all universities, while 30 percent of the syllabus will be able to be changed by the universities according to their own. The course has also been made employable.
  • It is known that a task force was constituted under the chairmanship of the Secondary Education Minister to prepare the curriculum under the new education policy by the state universities. The Higher Education Minister was made its Vice President.
  • Apart from this, a curriculum formulation committee was formed under the chairmanship of Kumaon University Vice-Chancellor NK Joshi by nominating vice-chancellors of Doon University, Uttarakhand Open University, Shridev Suman University and Almora University as members.
  • In July 2022, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had launched 'Bal Vatika' in Uttarakhand under the New Education Policy-2020. This made Uttarakhand the first state in the country to implement the new education policy.
  • Under this, 4447 Anganwadi centers running in the primary school premises have been started as Bal Vatika. In Anganwadi centers, pre-primary has been named 'Bal Vatika'. A separate curriculum has been prepared for this.
  • At present, there are 21 private universities, three deemed universities, one central university and 12 state universities operating in the state.

Ayush Village of 100 Bed Capacity in Uttarakhand

Why In News?

  • On September 18, 2022, according to the information received from the media, a 100-bed capacity Ayush village will be established in Uttarakhand to promote Ayurveda medicine system and investment. For this, Arya Vaidya Shala of Kerala agreed and talked about signing an MoU with Ayurveda University.

  • Recently, a delegation of Arya Vaidya Shala from Kerala, working in the Ayurveda sector towards making Uttarakhand an AYUSH hub, visited Rishikul and Gurukul Ayurveda Colleges in Haridwar and agreed to sign an MoU with the university for research work on Ayurveda in collaboration with the state.
  • The delegation held a meeting with Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Sen.), Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu, Secretary Ayush Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey and discussed the roadmap for promotion of Ayurveda in detail.
  • The Governor told the delegation to promote Panchakarma, Marma therapy and give priority to publicity. In addition, emphasis was placed on the use of aromatic plants and herbs in daily life. He said that more than 179 aromas and more than 200 herbs are found in the state.
  • The CEO of Arya Vaidya Shala, Dr. GC Gopala Pillai, who was part of the delegation, suggested the use of 'Wellbeing' instead of the word 'wellness' related to Ayurveda field.
