Integrated Command and Control Centers

Why In News?

  • Presiding over the review meeting of the committee constituted under the ICCC project in Chandigarh on November 17, 2022, Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Integrated Command and Control Centers (ICCCs) will be set up in every district.

Key Points

  • The Chief Secretary of the state informed that the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) will prove to be helpful in obtaining real time information along with ensuring security and surveillance, traffic management, solid waste management and effective use of e-governance applications.
  • It is noteworthy that the state government is already running a pilot project of ICCC in three districts Gurugram, Faridabad and Karnal, which is yielding positive results.
  • He informed that the ICCC project will prove to be a milestone in curbing crime in the state while ensuring transparency. The state government will prepare its own model to implement this scheme, which will eliminate the dependence of third parties. The project will be reviewed every 5 years to update the smart system.
  • The project components include civil infrastructure, smart solutions, sensors/cameras, devices and IT infrastructure, he said. By next week, the proposed draft of this project will be presented to the Chief Minister with detailed information.

First International Convention Center

Why In News?

  • On November 17, 2022, Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, while chairing a meeting of the Committee of Administrative Secretaries in Chandigarh, informed that the first International Convention Centre will be built in Haryana.

  • Sanjeev Kaushal directed the officials to closely study such International Convention Centres (ICCs) at other places and also evaluate their feasibility.
  • He said that the International Convention Center is to be built in Sector-78, Faridabad, to speed up its construction, a meeting with stakeholders will be organized in the next 15 days.

Union Home Minister's Medal

Why In News?

  • According to the information given by the spokesperson of Haryana Police Department on November 17, 2022, four police officers of Haryana have been awarded 'Union Home Minister's Medal' for Excellence in Investigation for the year-2022. Among those who were decorated is a woman police officer.

Key Points

  • Inspector Basant Kumar, Sub-Inspector Yogesh Kumar, Woman Sub-Inspector Suman Devi and Head Constable Gopal Chand were awarded the prestigious medal as per a notification issued by the Union Home Ministry, a police department spokesperson said.
  • The cases were solved through scientific investigation by the police officers decorated with this prestigious medal, making outstanding contributions in the field of investigation.
  • The medal was instituted in 2018 with an aim to promote high professional standards of crime investigation and to recognize such 'excellence in investigation' by investigating officers.

Electric-Vehicle Policy-2022

Why In News?

  • On November 17, 2022, Anand Mohan Sharan, Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Industries and Commerce Department, informed that the state Industries and Commerce Department has notified the Electric-Vehicle Policy-2022, under which 12 schemes have been made live.

Key Points

  • Anand Mohan Sharan informed that the electric-vehicle policy aims to promote the manufacture of electric vehicles and their components in the state. The formation of this policy will promote research and development in the field of electric-vehicles.
  • Apart from strengthening infrastructure, provisions have also been made to reduce the upfront cost of electric vehicles, which will also encourage buyers of hybrid EVs.
  • The 12 schemes that have been made live to promote electric vehicles in the Electric-Vehicle Policy include Purchase Incentive for Buyers, Charging and Battery Swapping Station Scheme, Pure SGST Reimbursement Scheme, Capital Subsidy Scheme, Employment Generation Grant Scheme, Electricity Duty Exemption Scheme, Stamp Duty Reimbursement Scheme, Patent Duty Reimbursement Scheme, R&D Incentive, Human Capacity Building Excellence Center Scheme, Seed and Transformation Fund Scheme, Water Treatment Incentive Scheme.
