National Police Medal to 89 Policemen of Uttar Pradesh

Why is News?

On the occasion of Independence Day on August 15, 2023, 12 policemen of the Uttar Pradesh Police were awarded Gallantry Medals, six policemen were awarded police medals for distinguished service and 71 were awarded police medals for meritorious service.   

Key Points:  

  • The gallantry medal (PMG) was given to STF Deputy SP Dharmendra Kumar Shahi, Inspector Satya Prakash Singh (PMG for the second time), Chief Constable Yashwant Singh (PMG for the second time), ADG Mohit Aggarwal, SP Vipin Tanda, SP Anil Kumar Mishra, Additional Superintendent of Police Tribhuvan Singh, Inspector Rakesh Singh, Sub-Inspector Dinesh Kumar Gautam, Constable Mohammad Imran, Praveen Kumar, Naveen Kumar Yadav.   
  • The President's Police Medal for Meritorious Services (PPM) was given to ADG Zone Prayagraj Bhanu Bhaskar, DIG EOW Akhilesh Kumar Nigam, Inspector Mohammad Hashim, Rajveer Singh, Pramod Kumar Mishra, Sub Inspector Dinesh Pratap Singh.    
  • It is known that the state police could not get the President's Gallantry Medal (PPMG) this time too.

Agriculture Department's Tableau got 1st place

Why is News?

On August 15, 2023, on the occasion of Independence Day, 13 tableaux were exhibited at the ceremony held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, in which the tableau of the Agriculture Department got the first rank.

  • On the occasion of Independence Day, many attractive tableaux of different departments were taken out. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saluted the parade. All the department's tableaux were giving different messages.
  • Department of Art, Culture & Youth and Jeevika jointly got the second position and Urban Development & Housing Department and Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department jointly got the third place.
  • People also liked the tableau of the Information Public Relations Department. This tableau received a lot of appreciation.

On August 16, 2023, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the formation of Rajasthan State Balinath Board in the state.

  • On August 16, 2023, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved the formation of Rajasthan State Balinath Board in the state.
  • Key Points:
  • This board will give suggestions to the state government to provide basic facilities to these classes and to remove their backwardness based on authentic survey reports along with taking stock of the condition of Barwa, and Berwa caste classes.
  • The board proposes various schemes for the welfare of the society, coordination with various departments concerning the various ongoing schemes, taking forward the traditional business of the society with the present methods, promoting employment and educational and economic upgradation of the society. Suggestions will be given in this regard.
  • Along with this, other suggestions including taking concrete measures against social evils and evils will also be presented to the state government.
  • The Board will have 5 non-official members (Chairman, Vice-Chairman and 3 Members).
  • Apart from these, the Government Secretary/Commissioner/Director or their representative of the Industries Department, School Education (Primary/Secondary) and Sanskrit Education Department, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department, Labor Department, Social Justice and Empowerment Department or their representatives will be on the board as official members.
  • A Deputy Director level officer of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department will be the Secretary of the Board.
  • The Managing Director of the Rajasthan State Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Cooperative Corporation Limited or his representative will be a special invitee to the Board.
  • The Administrative Department of the Board will be the Social Justice and Empowerment Department.

4 services related to Madrassa notified in Public Service Guarantee

Why is News?

As per the information furnished by the Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Department on August 16, 2023, 4 services related to Madhya Pradesh Madrassa Board have been notified in the Public Service Guarantee Act.

Key Points:

  • These services include Madrassa registration and recognition from the board for Madrassas, renewal of Madrassa recognition, registration of Madrassa steering committee and renewal service of Madrassa steering committee.
  • There are 1755 Madrassas affiliated to the board in the state. There are 6 thousand 155 teachers working in them. There are 1,01,454 children (52,012 boys and 49,442 girls) studying in these Madrassas.
  • Free textbooks and mid-day meals are being provided to the children studying in Madrassas.

Country's 1st Grid dedicated under RDSS

Why is News?

On August 17, 2023, under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), the state-of-the-art 33/11 KV power grid was inaugurated at Imlikheda in Indore district, the first prepared in the country.

Key Points:

  • Water Resources and Fishermen Welfare Minister of Madhya Pradesh Tulsiram Silavat and MP Shankar Lalwani inaugurated the grid.
  • The said grid of five MVA capacity costs three crores. With this, 8000 electricity consumers and 25000 people of five villages will get 24 hours high-quality electricity.
  • It is known that under the Revised Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Ministry of Power in July last year, the country's first 33/11 KV power grid has recently been completed and electrified at Imlikheda in Sanwer tehsil of Indore district.
  • The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the grid was done by Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat in February 2023.
  • Electrical equipment materials, power transformers, VCBs, cables, conductors etc. have been used only after testing in national level NABL.   
  • For the first time, panther conductors have been used in the grid, which is almost twice the capacity of conventional conductors. The work of 97 such grids in the company area is in various stages.

MP's 100 years old Musical Heritage Maihar Band to be revived

Why is News?

On August 17, 2023, Madhya Pradesh's Culture, Tourism and Religious Trust and Religious Affairs Minister Ms. Usha Thakur informed that the 100-year-old musical heritage Maihar Band will be revived in the state. Based on the Guru-Shishya tradition, the Maihar Band will be operated as 'Maihar Band Gurukul'.

Key Points:

  • The Gurukul will train 150 rare bandis of Baba Ustad Alauddin Khan. Trainees will be able to get training in all the instruments used in Maihar orchestra in the Gurukul run in Maihar Music College Building Maihar.
  • It is known that the unique and unique instrument of the field of music art is a unique example of the Maihar Band music tradition, which is the first state in the country to revive and move forward by preserving the ancient tradition of music.
  • Minister Ms. Thakur informed that the training session in Gurukul will be for a maximum of 2 years. During the training period, the trainees will be given a scholarship of Rs 10,000 per month. Five retired musicians of the Maihar Band will be given a felicitation fund of Rs 37,500 for training. In the initial session, 20 trainees will be selected and given training.
  • Minister Ms. Thakur informed that Gurukul will not only revive Maihar Band but will also be able to establish many categories of Maihar Bands by training the instruments presented in Maihar Orchestra.

On August 16, 2023, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel discussed with the youth at Government Kakatiya PG College Ground Dharampura, Jagdalpur under the meet-meet program in Bastar division, got to know their aspirations and made many announcements in their interest on the spot.

  • Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced to start Wrestling Academy in Kondagaon and Agriculture College in Sukma from next year.
  • During the meeting, the youth of Narayanpur demanded for outdoor stadium and central library, this was also fulfilled. An announcement was also made to increase the number of seats in PMT Girls College in Narayanpur from 50 to 100.
  • The Chief Minister also gave approval to hostel in Jagdalpur Danteshwari Girls College for the convenience of girl students.
  • Announcing the opening of DCA and PGDCA as well as PG College at Charama in Kanker, the Chief Minister said that these courses would start from next year.
  • The Chief Minister also informed the youth about major decisions taken in the interests of the youth on the occasion of Independence Day.
    • He said that those accused of molesting women, raping etc. would be banned from government jobs.
    • Free bus facility will be given to the students studying in government colleges from home to college.
    • In the state level competition of Chhattisgarh Olympics, the participants who get first place in the age group of 18 to 40 years in the sports of long jump, 100 meter race and wrestling will be declared as outstanding players. This provision will be implemented from this year itself.
    • For the students of remote areas, preparation for engineering and medical entrance examinations will be done online at block headquarters.

The Governor inaugurated the Clap Project

Why is News?

On August 16, 2023, the Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh (Saini) launched the School Education Department's Continuous Learning Access Project (CLAP) at Raj Bhavan, Dehradun, under which children will be able to access the latest knowledge through e-learning vehicle.

Key Points:

  • Along with this, the Governor flagged off the mobile e-learning vehicle under this project.
  • The clap has been prepared by the Education Department under the guidance of NCERT and in collaboration with computer manufacturer HP. This mobile e-learning vehicle has 120 internet enabled laptops in which the learning material is protected.
  • This vehicle will provide 'digital content' in online and offline mode to students from primary to class-12 in government schools in remote rural areas.
  • Learning channels, Disha and e-Pathshala based on NCERT syllabus are available in the vehicle. Students will be able to do self-evaluation along with learning in it.
  • At present, this vehicle will be operated on the basis of a route chart in the schools of district Tehri.
  • On this occasion, the Governor said that with the special efforts of NCERT, the digital vehicle with e-content will prove useful in introducing children to new teaching methods and curriculum.
  • This vehicle will take the light of knowledge to the students of remote areas through technology. The e-education vehicle will help in achieving its educational objectives by visiting remote schools of the state.
  • On this occasion, Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that last year the state's ranking in the field of education was at 35th position, which has reached 17th position this year. The effort of the state government is to bring the state in the top 10 ranking.
