Haryana Committed Towards the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra

Why in News?

The Haryana government is committed to the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and is actively participating to ensure that the welfare schemes of the government reach every person in society.

Key Points

  • 41 lakh 64 thousand 673 people have pledged to make India a self-reliant and developed nation by 2047.
  • During the yatra, MPs, ministers, MLAs, and officers listen to people's problems and provide solutions. They also make people aware of the welfare schemes of the central and state governments.
  • To fulfill the vision to make India a developed nation by 2047, Yatra was started on November 16, 2023. It has covered 6,718 gram panchayats and urban wards in Haryana.
    • Health camps are being organised to check people's health during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. Under Nirogi Haryana, the health of more than 46 lakh people was examined and was also provided with medicines.
    • During the Yatra, more than 7,000 local athletes are being honored by prominent personalities. This has brought new energy to emerging sports talents in Haryana.

Services and Information through the Jan Sahayak Help Me App

Why in News?

Haryana government services and information can now be accessed through the Jan Sahayak Help Me app, citizens can avail of the services via their mobile phones.

Key Points

  • Registration is essential using either a mobile number or a Parivar Pehchan Patra to access the benefits of the services and information via the Jan Sahayak Help Me app.
  • The app offers information on various government services categorised by departments, including emergency services like Dial 112, police (100), ambulance (108), and more.
  • Citizens can avail themselves of services ranging from bill payments to job listings and skill development opportunities.
  • Through the Haryana Jan Sahayak app, citizens can avail themselves of services such as dry ration distribution, cooked food, doctor consultations, education, travel passes, financial aid, gas cylinder booking, ambulance services, and more.
  • Requests for any service made by an individual through the app are immediately forwarded to the respective district authorities for necessary action.

Jansahayak Mobile App

  • It is an initiative of Government of Haryana to provide a single point of interface to citizens for accessing all Government Services , Emergency Helplines and other information services.
  • It is a bilingual mobile app in both English & Hindi.

Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP)

  • It was launched on November 1, 2021 in the spirit of Antyodaya.
  • It is an ambitious scheme of the state government, which aims to provide the benefits of all government welfare programs and services to eligible families.
  • Haryana is the first state in the country to make such a scheme for making family identity cards or Parivar Pehchan Patra for every family. So far, no such scheme has been started either in the country or abroad.

Adventure Sports Competition

Why in News?

In spirit of the steps taken by the Haryana Chief Minister to promote adventure sports and tourism in the Shivalik and Aravalli mountain ranges of the state,the National Adventure Club organised the 30th National Adventure Festival from 2nd to 10th February, 2024, in the Morni Hills.

Key Points

  • About 275 boys and girls from all over the country between the age group of 16-45 participated along with a team of seven participants from Bangladesh in this Festival.
  • The competitions included activities like trekking, rock climbing, repelling, river rafting, snow skiing, archery, commando obstacle, river crossing, etc.
  • The National Adventure Club awarded the prestigious "Bharat Gaurav" and "Adamaya Sahas Puruskar" awards at the national and international levels to distinguished adventure players.
    • Inspector Ram Lal was awarded the "Adamaya Sahas Puruskar", which included a cash prize of Rs.31,000, a certificate of appreciation, and a plaque.

Green Industry Base

Why in News?

The state government will position Uttar Pradesh as a state with ‘green industry base’ in the Ground Breaking Ceremony scheduled on 19th February, 2024.

Key Points

  • The industries department will project its solar, biofuel, pumped storage, and EV battery ecosystem to attract new players.
    • According to the officials, UP’s capacity to produce solar energy was 22.38 gigawatt (GW) which is significantly higher than many states.
    • The state is coming up with a Green Energy Corridor that has a land bank of approximately 1,54,000 hectares for solar use.Government has approved six solar parks with capacity of 3,600 MW.
  • 25% of total EVs in India are used in UP. The state has already developed a network of 450 plus active charging stations while another 100 plus are in the pipeline with locations already identified along expressways, public places, and buildings.
    • An exercise of EV planning for seven freight smart cities is underway.
  • UP has approved eight projects in Sonbhadra, Mirzapur and Chandauli with cumulative capacity of 13,250 MW.
  • Considering that UP alone can consume 1/5th of the target under National Green Hydrogen Mission, the state has come up with single window approval for setting up compressed biogas plant, biodiesel/ethanol production plant.

Nazool Land

Why in News?

Recently, in Haldwani city of Nainital District, Uttarakhand violence erupted due to a Demolition Drive conducted by the city administration to remove Encroachment at the site of a mosque and madrasa, allegedly on Nazool Land.

  • As per the administration, the property where the two structures are situated is registered as the Municipal Council’s Nazool land.

Key Points

  • Nazool land is owned by the government but most often not directly administered as state property.
    • The state generally allots such land to any entity on lease for a fixed period, generally between 15 and 99 years.
  • In case the lease term is expiring, one can approach the authority to renew the lease by submitting a written application to the Revenue Department of the local development authority.
    • The government is free to either renew the lease or cancel it — taking back Nazool land.
  • The government generally uses Nazool land for public purposes like building schools, hospitals, Gram Panchayat buildings, etc.

Encroachment

  • It is the unauthorised use or occupation of someone else’s property.
  • This can occur on abandoned or unused spaces if the legal owner is not actively involved in its upkeep.
  • It is important for property owners to be aware of the legal steps to take and their rights in such cases.
  • This could include illegal construction, squatting, or any other form of occupation without proper permission or legal rights.
  • Land encroachment, as defined by Section 441 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860, is the act of unlawfully entering someone else’s property without permission to commit an offence, threaten possession of the property, or stay on the land uninvited.
