18 new police stations and 22 police posts will be built in Uttar Pradesh, tourism station will open in Kushinagar
Why In News?
- On September 14, 2022, Principal Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Home Department, Sanjay Prasad said that the state government has decided to set up 18 new police stations and 22 outposts and open a new tourist police station in Kushinagar to further strengthen the policing system in different districts of the state.

- Sanjay Prasad said that it has been decided to set up 18 new police stations and 22 outposts in different districts of the state to further strengthen peace and order in the state, curb crimes more effectively, provide more safe environment to women and common people.
- Necessary orders have been issued to the Director General of Police and Additional Director General of Police (Police Headquarters) in this regard. Apart from this, separate instructions will be issued regarding the creation of necessary posts in these new police stations and police posts of the state.
- In Ghaziabad district, new police stations have been created in the name of Web City by cutting the area of Mussoorie / Kavi Nagar police station and crossing republic by cutting the area of Vijay Nagar police station. After the division of Khampar and Bankata police stations, Suroli will be the new police station in Deoria.
- A new police station named Baba Bazar has been created by cutting the area of Mawai police station of Ayodhya. The police post established in Rahimabad village of Malihabad police station area of the capital Lucknow has been upgraded and a new police station named Rahimabad has been created. It has been decided to set up an airport police station in Dhoomanganj area of Prayagraj.
- The Principal Secretary said that five new police posts have been opened in Aligarh, three in Ghazipur and two each in Hardoi and Sitapur. Apart from this, one new police post will be opened in Farrukhabad, Agra, Mathura, Bahraich, Prayagraj, Hardoi, Amethi, Sitapur, Unghnav, Pratapgarh.
