Girl Friendly Gram Panchayat
Why In News?
- On September 15, 2022, Government Secretary Dinesh Kumar Yadav said that on the lines of Sawai Madhopur, two gram panchayats in each district of the state will be developed as girl-friendly gram panchayats.
Key Points
- Seven gram panchayats of Sawai Madhopur have been developed as girl-friendly gram panchayats as a pilot project by the women empowerment department of the state government.
- Secretary Dinesh Kumar Yadav said this while addressing the progress review meeting of departmental schemes and the first batch training program organized in all the districts for girl friendly gram panchayat identified under 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' scheme.
- The training programme was conducted in coordination with directorate of women empowerment and UNFPA.
- In this training program, along with deputy directors, assistant directors of districts, fellows and supervisors of identified village panchayats participated.
- It is worth mentioning that in this training, participants were involved in the decline in Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and overview of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana', key components of gender and girl friendly Gram Panchayat (GFGF), understanding the strategy and process, girls affected by violence. and overview on laws and services for women, services, programs related to economic empowerment for girls and women in the context of state policy for women.
- Social environment will be created for the girl child in girl friendly gram panchayats. The excitement will be celebrated when a girl is born. The benefits of government schemes will be extended to the girl child. Schools will be built in Panchayats where there are no schools for girls. Security will be provided by marking unsafe routes from home to school. At the gram panchayat level, a complete developmental structure will be set up to provide all facilities to the girl child from the budget of the panchayats.

Inauguration and Foundation Stone of Development Works Worth Rs 1199 crore in Gwalior
Why In News?
- On September 15, 2022, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced the addition of elevated roads, inter-state bus terminals and 122 km of roads, which are going to be added as a new dimension of development in Gwalior. He laid the foundation stone and dedicated development works worth about Rs 1199 crore including 7 long roads.

- Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari also made several announcements at the foundation stone laying and dedication ceremony. These announcements are-
- The elevated road of both the phases on the Swarn Rekha River in Gwalior city will be built with state-of-the-art new technology from Malaysia. Tenders for both the phases of the elevated road will float simultaneously.
- The 6-lane Agra-Gwalior Greenfield Expressway will be connected to the Yamuna Expressway and the distance from Delhi to Gwalior can be covered in just three hours. About 87 kms. The construction of this long expressway will be done at a cost of about 2500 crores.
- A Logistics Park will be set up along the Agra-Gwalior Expressway.
- The old Gwalior-Agra road will be renovated and a four-lane cement concrete route will be built.
- The Gwalior-Bhind-Etawah national highway will be converted into a four-lane route at a cost of Rs 1200 crore. 72 km from Morena to Sabalgarh at a cost of Rs 300 crore. A long four-lane roadway will be built.
- A ropeway will be constructed at a cost of Rs 120 crore from Phoolbagh to Fort in Gwalior city. This will establish new dimensions in the tourism development of Gwalior.
- A new railway overbridge will be constructed between Jalalpur-Baroa in Gwalior. With the construction of ROB, about 2 dozen villages including Jalalpur and Baroa will get the facility of smooth movement. Also, devotees going to Shanishara temple will also have ease of transportation.
- Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that Gwalior will be made an industrial hub again by constructing an incubation centre. Along with industrial investment, work will also be done to create tourism, medical and electronic hubs.

Faridabad Railway Station will be Redeveloped on the Lines of a World Class Station
Why In News?
- On September 15, 2022, Union Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries Krishan Pal Gurjar informed that Faridabad railway station has been selected to make Faridabad railway station a world-class railway station under the ambitious plan of redevelopment of railway stations of Indian Railways.
Key Points
- Union Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries Krishan Pal Gurjar said that major upgradation works will be done for the convenience of railway passengers at this railway station through redevelopment works.
- The total amount of the project is Rs 262 crore. Under the proposed scheme, iconic buildings will be built on both sides at Faridabad station. Along with this, there will be separate arrival and departure facilities like the airport at the railway station.
- There will be multi-level car parking on both sides of the station. The 72-metre wide furnished space will be on either side of the railway station. Two foot-over-bridges of 12 meters wide will also be built here, so that barrier-free movement can be done.
- Apart from this, other facilities including waiting room area, food court with more capacity and space will also be developed here.
- The new proposal also provides for facility for local transport in the railway station premises itself. Along with this, the railway station building will be redeveloped on the lines of smart and green building.

HAU's Krishi Vigyan Kendra got the Best Center Award at the National Level

- On September 14, 2022, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar conferred the best Krishi Vigyan Kendra award at the national level to Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Krishi Vishwavidyalaya's Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mahendragarh at the Outlook Summit and Swaraj Puraskar-2022 event held in New Delhi.

- It is noteworthy that 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras from all the 11 Agricultural Technical Application Institutes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, including Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mahendragarh, had applied for this prestigious award, out of which the said center was selected for the award.
- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mahendragarh will get this prestigious award for wide dissemination of innovative technologies through farm demonstrations, setting up of enterprise units under Project (ARYA) to attract youth in agriculture, accurate weather information to farmers under Rural Agro Weather Service at the right time, with nutrient sensitive agricultural resources and innovation among women working in agriculture. Along with this, self-employment of scheduled caste youth through various trainings, balanced use of fertilizers on the basis of soil health card for land improvement and time-bound implementation of various projects run by the government for the upliftment of farmers have been provided.

Rural Industrial Parks
Why In News?
- According to the information given by the Chhattisgarh Public Relations Department on September 15, 2022, two industrial parks will be built in each development block of the state. Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park will be set up there to develop selected Gothans of rural areas of the state as centers of livelihood.
Key Points
- The industrial park will be developed as a rural production and service center to meet local, government and other needs. In order to promote livelihood and employment in rural areas, private entrepreneurs will be encouraged to set up enterprises in these industrial parks.
- On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, the foundation stone and dedication of the works of Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park will be laid.
- In this regard, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain held a meeting with all divisional commissioners, collectors and chief executive officers of district panchayats through video conferencing from Mahanadi Mantralaya Bhawan and gave comprehensive guidelines regarding the establishment of rural industrial park and conduct of activities there.
- In connection with the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park i.e. Rural Livelihood Park Scheme, Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Subrata Sahu instructed the officials through video conferencing that two gothans should be selected for industrial park in each development block of the state.
- He said that an integrated detailed project report and blueprint should be prepared for the activities to be taken up in each RIPA and an action plan should be prepared on the basis of separate business plan for each enterprise and local youth, self-help groups interested in setting up the enterprise should be identified.

'Swachhata Hi Seva' Campaign
Why In News?
- On September 15, 2022, Chhattisgarh Agriculture, Water Resources, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ravindra Choubey formally launched the statewide 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign in a program organized at his residence office.
Key Points
- On this occasion, Minister Ravindra Choubey flagged off the Swachhta Rath for public awareness in the state. This Swachhata Rath will visit Haat-bazaars and villages from 15th September to 2nd October to make people aware about cleanliness in the state.
- It is worth mentioning that like every year, this year also 'Swachhta Hi Seva' campaign is being run in the entire state from 15th September to 2nd October, 2022. Its objective is to bring public awareness about cleanliness in villages.
- Under the Swachhta Hi Seva Abhiyan, from September 15 to October 2, 2022, the garbage collected in all the villages will be cleaned through shramdaan. Under this, collective shramdaan will be done for cleaning public places, construction of soak pit, construction of compost pit, plastic waste collection, door to door garbage collection, participation by local public representatives, officials and villagers will be ensured.
- It is worth mentioning that under the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin Phase-II, 1,14,871 individual toilets, 9382 community toilets, 302 biogas plants and 2 physical sludge management systems have been established in the state. At the same time, waste management has been done in 5135 villages and liquid waste management in 6872 villages, due to which 4193 villages have become ODF plus so far. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin, the target is to make 8000 villages ODF this year.
- Under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, various activities will be organized from the district headquarters to the villages and action will also be taken to declare the villages which have come under the ODF plus category as ODF plus.
