Industrial Area in Each Subdivision of the State
Why in the news?
- On March 14, 2022, Rajasthan's Industries Minister Shakuntala Rawat told the Legislative Assembly that for the first time in the country, it has been decided to open industrial areas in each sub-division by doing innovative experiments in Rajasthan.
Key points
- Shakuntala Rawat said that RIICO has identified land in 129 subdivisions out of 153 subdivisions deprived of industrial areas and administrative and financial approval of more than Rs 2100 crore has been issued for setting up industrial areas in 45 subdivisions.
- He informed that 2138 industrial plots were allotted by the previous government during the entire tenure, whereas in 3 years about 4000 plots have been allotted by the present government.
- Rajasthan Industrial Development Policy-2019 has been issued in compliance with the Public Manifesto. This includes inclusive and sustainable industrial development, industrial infrastructure, competitive financial incentives, etc.
- At the same time, commendable work is being done by RIICO in industrial sector development. Till now 370 industrial areas have been established. Out of these 41600 units are under production.

'Mann Ka Mogra' Book Launched
Why in the news?
- On March 15, 2022, Madhya Pradesh Tourism, Culture and Religious Trust and Endowment Minister Usha Thakur and Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang released the book 'Mann Ka Mogra' written by Dr. Sadhana Gangrade in the State Museum.
Key points
- This book is a collection of fine essays based on interpersonal relationships, festivals, traditions, rites, values and social customs.
- Minister Vishwas Sarang said that the book 'Mann Ka Mogra' preserves the social customs. It brings the values and ideals of joint family to the society. It is a source of inspiration for future generations.
- The author of the book herself lives in a joint family of 27 members. This book written by her brings various forms of women in front of the society in ideal form.

River Narmada
Why in the news?
- Recently, the Narmada, the life-giving river of Madhya Pradesh, has been included in the Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the rejuvenation of 13 major rivers through forestry initiatives is jointly released by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti.
Key points
- The detailed project report covers 13 major rivers – Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Beas, Sutlej, Yamuna, Brahmaputra, Luni, Narmada, Godavari, Mahanadi, Krishna and Kaveri. The length of 13 rivers including 202 tributaries under the project is 42,830 km.
- These 13 rivers collectively cover 18,90,110 sq.km. area of the country, which is 57.45 percent of the geographical area of the country.
- The detailed project report has been prepared on the lines of the work done as part of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) in the year 2015-16, acknowledging that the increasing water crisis is the cause of the degradation of the river's ecosystem.
- The Narmada River (also known as Rewa) serves as a traditional boundary between North and South India. It is 1,312 km west of its origin from the Amarkantak peak of Maikal mountain. It flows into the Gulf of Khambhat.
- This project report is based on a multi-level, multi-stakeholder, multidisciplinary and holistic approach to meet the broad objectives of 'Aviral Dhara', 'Nirmal Dhara' and ecological rejuvenation.
- The DPR identifies forestry interventions in three types of scenarios and the potential for adopting a holistic riverscape approach to wetland management.
- Under the protection of 13 rivers through forestry, intensive plantation will be done on both the banks of the rivers. This is expected to increase the forest area to 7,417.36 sq km.
- The proposed intervention will help in reducing 50.21 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from 10-year old plantations and 74.76 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from 20-year-old plantations.
- The proposed intervention in the 13 riverine landscape will recharge 1889.89 million cubic meters of ground water per year and reduce sediment deposits by 64,83114 cubic meters per year.

SAIF U-18 Women's Football Tournament
Why in the news?
- On March 15, 2022, the SAFF Under-18 (SAFF U-18) Women's Football Championship competition was inaugurated at JRD Sports Complex, Jamshedpur, hosted by Jharkhand.

- The tournament was jointly inaugurated by State Sports and Tourism Minister Hafeezul Hasan, Health Minister Banna Gupta and MLA Saryu Rai.
- The tournament is being organized jointly by the state government, National Football Federation and Tata Steel.
- It is noteworthy that for the first time after the formation of the state, Jharkhand has been the host of SAIF Under-18 Women's Football Championship.
- Players from three countries – India, Nepal and Bangladesh are participating in the championship held from March 15 to 25.
- 6 players from Jharkhand - Ameesha Bakhala, Astam Oraon, Sunita Munda, Anita Kumari, Neetu Linda and Poornima Kumari have been selected in the Indian team in the SAIF Under-18 Women's Football Competition.
- The first match of the competition was played between India and Nepal, in which the Indian team started their SAFF Under-18 Championship campaign with a bang by defeating Nepal 7-0.
- A provision has been made for free entry to the public in all the matches of the competition, so that the maximum number of people can watch the match.

Book Launch of 'The Incredible Journey of Kosa'
Why in the news?
- On March 15, 2022, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel released 'The Incredible Journey of Kosa' in his office room located in the Assembly Complex. This book is based on the journey of Kosa silk from the mythological period to the present day, Kosa sarees and dress materials.

- This book was written by senior journalist K. N. Kishor and edited by Dr. Rajendra Mohanty.
- This book discusses the mythology behind 'Kosa' silk, its historical origin, literary evidence telling about the arrival and development of silk in India and its arrival in Chhattisgarh.
- Apart from this, it also discusses the traditional process of silk production, thread making process as well as the process of different types of silk fabrics, such as sarees, dress materials, furnishings etc.
- This book will give a brief on the priceless handloom Kosa product of Chhattisgarh and will be useful as a storehouse of knowledge for the new generations.
- K. N. Kishor said that this book is an attempt to preserve the history of Kosa along with the traditional forms of silk weaving, documenting the journey, motifs, colors and weaves of Kosa.

National Quality Assurance Certificate to 6 Primary Health Centers of Chhattisgarh
Why in the news?
- Recently, six primary health centers of Chhattisgarh have been awarded National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certificate by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for providing excellent healthcare and better treatment to patients.

- Along with this, Jagdalpur District Hospital and Lormi Community Health Center in Mungeli district have been given LaQshya Certification for excellent facilities of delivery room and maternity operation theater and good care of pregnant women.
- The six primary health centers that have received the National Quality Assurance Standard certification include five urban primary health centers and one rural primary health center.
- The National Quality Assurance Standard Certificate has been awarded to the Primary Health Center Bhelwa, Farsabahar in Jashpur district by the Union Health Ministry.
- At the same time, the five urban primary health centers that have received the National Quality Assurance Standard certificate include three urban primary health centers Changora Bhatha, Urla and Bhanpuri in Raipur district, Dhodipara in Korba district and Charoda urban primary health center in Durg district.
- It is worth mentioning that before awarding the 'National Quality Assurance Standard' certificate and the 'Lakshya' certificate, the hospital's services and satisfaction level are tested on several parameters by the team of Union Health Ministry. Only hospitals that meet these stringent standards are issued quality certificates by the Union Health Ministry.
