PM Shree Schools
Why In News?
- On November 13, 2022, Akash Saraswat, the nodal officer appointed for the establishment of PM Shree School in Uttarakhand, told that after the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PM Shree schools will be opened at the national level. At present, 206 such schools have been selected by the State Education Department at its level.

- According to state nodal officer Akash Saraswat, the education department has also selected government schools from each block and municipal corporation area for this. After being selected from the state level, there will now be a final stamp on the basis of the marks received by these schools from the Center.
- According to state nodal officer Akash Saraswat, all these will be model schools, on which most of the expenditure will be borne by the central government.
- On November 10, the Education Department has announced the appointment of Akash Saraswat, Deputy State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha, as the nodal officer for the establishment of PM Shree schools in the state. The Chief Education Officer will be its nodal officer at the district level.
- According to the state nodal officer, the state's Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and various schools run by the state government are to be included in the PM Shri Yojana.
- For this, one government primary school and one middle school from each block have been selected as PM Shree School at the state level considering the various facilities available in the schools such as playground, laboratory, library, class room, rain water harvesting etc. Apart from this, two schools have been selected from each municipal corporation area.
- After the selection of these schools at the state level, these schools will be registered on the central government portal this week. Based on the facilities available in the schools, these schools will be declared as 'PM Shri' schools by the central government.
- According to the state nodal officer, after 206 schools in the state, others will also be developed as model schools. The special thing about these schools will be that students will get all possible facilities in them.

Uttarakhand's First Aerocity to be Built Near Jolly Grant Airport
Why In News?
- On November 13, 2022, Uttarakhand Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan informed that on the lines of Delhi, the proposal of Aerocity near Jolly Grant Airport is under consideration. With the availability of land, this project will be visible on the ground.

- Land is being searched for this project near Jolly Grant Airport. All state-of-the-art facilities ranging from five star hotels, malls, cafes, restaurants will be provided in Aerocity. It will also have accommodation for thousands of people.
- With the implementation of this project, it will be the first world-class state-of-the-art city in the state.
- Jolly Grant Airport is also being expanded. After this the airport will have international connectivity. In such a situation, Aerocity can also emerge as a big business hub of the future. It can also prove effective in taking the local products of Uttarakhand to the international market.
- The park will be set up here on the lines of foreign countries. The park will have jogging, cycling tracks and huts for meditation. Also, landscaping and planting Australian grass are also under consideration. At the same time, flowers and greenery will be seen in the parks in every season.
- The KLIA Aeropolis Aerocity in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is said to be a great example of this concept. Similarly, Dubai has built Festival City just a mile away from the airport, which provides accommodation, schools, malls etc. for one lakh people.
- Significantly, Aerocity has been established near the Indira Gandhi International Airport in the capital Delhi. All the facilities from five star hotels, malls, hotels to cafes are available here. Due to its proximity to the International Airport, it is fast developing as a business hub as well. Similarly, the work on the project of Aerocity in Mohali (Punjab) is also going on.
