Industrial Corridor to be Built in Soraon Area of Prayagraj
Why in News?
Nodal officer Jagdamba Singh announced on November 12, 2023, that following the inauguration of the industrial corridor in Shankargarh on the Yamuna in Prayagraj, there are plans to establish an additional industrial corridor in the Soraon region across the Ganga.
Key Points
- A road map is being prepared for its establishment in the areas around the largest Ganga Expressway of Uttar Pradesh. After Shankargarh, this will be the second industrial corridor of the district to be built in Soraon area.
- The government plans to develop this industrial corridor in the area around the expressway on behalf of UPEIDA in Prayagraj. Three villages adjacent to the Ganga Expressway have been identified for this. The three villages that have been identified for this include Malak Chaturi, Judapur Dandu and Bari Sarai Lal.
- Industrial hubs will also be established in the most backward areas of Prayagraj. The state government has prepared a roadmap to develop Shankargarh, the most backward area across the Yamuna area of Prayagraj, as an industrial hub.
- After starting the survey of this area, Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority has sent the proposal of selected land for industrial development in the area to the administration. After this the work of setting up industries will begin.
- It is noteworthy that to develop an industrial hub in Shankargarh area, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited seeks to set up a solar power plant here, the process of which has started.
- According to UPSIDA Regional Manager Ashish Nath, further work will start after the survey process of this area is completed. The government also has a proposal to establish an oil refinery in this area, which is to be established in Shankargarh block on 2000 acres of land.
- It is noteworthy that due to lack of cultivable land and non-fertility of land in the rocky area of Shankargarh, most of the local people have to go to cities to earn their livelihood. Seeing the possibility of setting up industries in the area, the state government has decided to create an industrial hub here.
- Prayagraj District Officer Navneet Singh Chahal said that due to the geographical location of the area and the presence of energy resources, Shankargarh is being seen as a suitable area for the development of the industrial sector. This will be the second industrial hub of the district after Naini. Industrial development here will create more than 10 thousand jobs. With this, local people who have migrated to cities will also return to their areas.

Siwan's Yusra Fatma's Name Registered in India Book of Records

Yusra Fatma from Siwan district of Bihar has become the first teenager to write the maximum number of Hindi poetry books at the youngest age, for which her name has been registered in the India Books of Records 2023.

- Yusra Fatma of Tetahli village under Barharia block of Siwan district has achieved this feat by writing four poems at the age of just 15 years and 6 months.
- With this record, she has become the first girl in India to write the maximum number of Hindi poetry books in her teenage years. Yusra has been writing poems since the age of eight. At the age of 12 she wrote her first poetry book.
- Yusra has tried to hold the society as a mirror through her Hindi poems. Apart from this, it has been written to make the society aware that one should not just watch the pictures from the movie but should watch and follow its character.
- Yusra has written four poetry books which include the poetry collection 'Jazba', 'Mere Hake Ki Shosh', 'Shaam Aur Tanhai', and 'Berukhi'.

Asian Games gold medalist Divyakriti Singh Appointed State Election Icon

- In this series, 24-year-old Jaipur resident Divyakriti Singh, Asian Games gold medal winner in horse riding, has been appointed as 'State Election Icon'.
- It is noteworthy that Divyakriti, a Psychology graduate from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University, had recently won the gold medal for India in the team event of horse riding (dressage) in the 19th Asian Games held in China.
- Apart from the Asian Games, she has represented the country in many international competitions in Europe. Along with this, she has also been honored with India Today Woman Achiever Award and Sawai Jaipur Award.

- In the 37th National Games held in Goa from October 26 to November 9, 2023, Maharashtra topped with 228 medals including 80 gold, 69 silver and 79 bronze, while Services stood second with 126 medals including 66 gold, 27 silver and 33 bronze.
- In the 37th National Games, Haryana players won 26 more medals than in the 36th National Games played in Gujarat last year, but Haryana missed out on getting second place by four medals.
- Maharashtra topped the National Games 2023 medal tally and won the Raja Bhalindra Singh Trophy, which is awarded to the team that wins the most gold medals at the National Games.
- Olympic swimmer Srihari Nataraj (8 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze) was named the best male athlete, while gymnasts Sanyuktha Prasen Kale and Pranati Nayak (4 gold and 1 silver each) were jointly named the best female athletes at the 37th National Games.
- Haryana's gymnastics players brought glory to the state by winning 11 medals for the first time in the National Games. Haryana gymnasts managed to win 4 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze medals.
- Wrestling players of Haryana represented their state in the national games. Won a maximum of 24 medals. This includes 11 gold, 1 silver and 12 bronze medals.
- Haryana's performance in team competition
- Hockey teams of the state had an excellent performance in the team competition. The men's hockey team won the gold medal and the women's team won the silver medal. Men's hockey team won the gold medal by defeating Karnataka team 5-3 in the final match. The final match of the women's hockey team was with Madhya Pradesh. In this match, Haryana had to be satisfied with the silver medal after losing in the shootout.

- Asha Kiran Barla also won a gold medal in the 37th National Junior Athletics Championship held in Guwahati, Assam in the year 2022. Asha Kiran Barla won a gold medal at the 21st National Federation Cup Junior Under-20 Athletics Championships held in Tiruvannamalai city of Tamil Nadu in April 2023 and a gold medal of 2.06.79 minutes in the 800 meters of the Asian Youth Under-18 Athletics Championships held in Kuwait in October 2022.

Prime Minister will launch 'PM-PVTG Development Mission' in Khunti on 15th November

According to information received from the media on November 10, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 'PM-PVTG Development Mission' in Khunti district on 'Tribal Pride Day' (Birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda) on November 15.

- The PM-PVTG Development Mission program aims to improve the socio-economic status of Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). For this, availability of Rs 15,000 crore for Scheduled Tribes has been envisaged in the Union Budget.
- The mission includes providing basic facilities like safe housing, clean drinking water and sanitation, education, health and nutrition, better access to roads in settlements for backward scheduled tribes.
- Prime Minister PVTG Development Mission:
- It may be noted that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced 'Pradhan Mantri PVTG Development Mission' under the Union Budget 2023-24 on February 1, 2023.
- The Central Government has allocated Rs 15,000 crore under the 'Development Action Plan for Scheduled Tribes' to implement this mission in the next three years.
- Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs):
- The Ministry of Home Affairs has classified 75 tribal groups in 18 states of the country and the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands as Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).
- PVTGs are the most vulnerable among the tribal groups. In 1975, the Government of India took the initiative to identify the most vulnerable tribal groups as a separate category called PVTGs .
- Initially 52 tribal groups were classified as PVTGs. In the year 1993, 23 additional tribal groups were included in this category, due to which there are currently 75 tribal groups under PVTG.
- Of the 75 listed PVTGs, the highest number are found in Odisha (13), followed by Andhra Pradesh (12).

On November 12, 2023, officials of the Sports Department of Uttarakhand said that for the first time in the state, six players will be given the Himalaya Putra Award. - Sports Department officials According to this, the Sports Directorate has received applications for many awards till October 16. After scrutiny of the applications, there will be a meeting of the committee formed for this.
- The names of the selected players and sports coaches will be sent to the government through the committee. The names for the awards will be announced after the approval of the High Power Committee of the Government and the Sports Minister.
- Names will also be announced for these awards: One player from the state will receive the Devbhoomi Uttarakhand Khel Ratna Award, one will receive the LifeTime Achievement Award and one sports coach will receive the Devbhoomi Uttarakhand Dronacharya Award.

Devbhoomi Entrepreneurship Centers

On November 11, 2023, Dr. Deepak Kumar Pandey, Nodal Officer of Devbhoomi Entrepreneurship Scheme and Assistant Director, Higher Education, said that Devbhoomi Entrepreneurship Centers will be established in all the 119 government colleges of the state.
Key Points
- Dr. Deepak Kumar Pandey said that the objective of the scheme is to develop an ecosystem of innovation and enterprise in the universities and government institutions of the state in accordance with the National Education Policy-2020.
- Under the Devbhoomi Entrepreneurship Scheme, entrepreneurship training will be provided to 90 professors. Under the scheme, after identifying the entrepreneurial qualities of the students, they will be developed.
- It may be noted that 22 faculty members from state higher educational institutions have taken training at EDII, Ahmedabad from November 5 to November 10. Members from Nainital, Tehri Garhwal, Haridwar, Almora, Chamoli, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Bageshwar, Uttarkashi, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag participated in it.
