SC-ST Mega Business Conclave & Expo

Why In News?

  • On October 12, 2022, Madhya Pradesh Forest Minister Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Om Prakash Sakhlecha, Minister for Promotion of Industries Policy and Investment Rajvardhan Singh inaugurated the mega SC-ST Business Conclave and Expo of Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI).

  • Renowned entrepreneurs from all over the country shared their success experiences in four sessions at the SC-ST Mega Business Conclave and Expo by DICCI at Ravindra Bhavan in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh government.
  • MSME Secretary P. Narhari said that MSMEs help in setting up industries in the emerging sectors of processing agro, toy manufacturing and furniture.
  • He said that Madhya Pradesh has formulated a policy for self-reliance in toy and furniture. The state government is constantly trying to financially empower the youth of SC-ST category. The government has made special provisions in the scheme for the purpose of setting up industries for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
  • Padma Shri Ravi Kumar Narra, National President of Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the central government and the state government are constantly trying to bring the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes into the mainstream by making special provisions in government schemes.
  • In 25 districts of the state, entrepreneurs displayed their products by setting up stalls and in this, entrepreneurs from other 5 states also displayed their products by setting up stalls.
  • It is worth mentioning that through the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce self-help and entrepreneurship, Dr. Works to fulfil Ambedkar's vision of economic empowerment. It was established in 2005.
