Important Decisions of the Uttar Pradesh Council of Ministers

Why in News

In the meeting of the Council of Ministers held under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on November 10, 2021, many important decisions were taken along with the approval of the proposal related to the implementation of 'Uttar Pradesh Mathrubhumi Yojana'.

Key Points

  • In the meeting, the Council of Ministers approved the proposal for implementation of 'Uttar Pradesh Mathrubhumi Yojana'.
    • For effective implementation of this scheme, 'Uttar Pradesh Mathrubhumi Society' will be formed and a governing council and empowered committee will be formed under the society. In this council, the Chief Minister will be the President and the Minister of Panchayati Raj will be the Vice President.
    • Under the scheme, the amount of grant given by the state government, that is, the remaining 40 percent or less, will be arranged from the budget provisions of the departments related to the work.
    • The registration of 'Uttar Pradesh Mathrubhumi Society' will be done under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
  • The cabinet approved the proposal to make free distribution of iodized salt 1 kg, pulse/whole gram 1 kg, edible oil 1 liter and food grains per card to the Antyodaya and eligible household card holders of the state from December, 2021 to March 2022.
  • The cabinet has also approved the proposal regarding approval of construction work of residential buildings for doubling the capacity of Police Training School (PTS) of Meerut district.
  • The cabinet has approved the revised cost of the project for construction of a 500 bedded super specialty hospital at Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai, Etawah.
  • The cabinet has approved the proposed rehabilitation plan for 63 Hindu Bengali families displaced from East Pakistan in the year 1970 on 121.41 hectares of land available in the name of Rehabilitation Department in village Bhainsaya, Tehsil Rasulabad, District Kanpur Dehat.
  • The cabinet has approved the proposal to run the newly established Department of Sports Medicine at King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow under the scheme of Government of India.
  • For the implementation of the announcement made in the resolution letter 2017, the advocates registered in the Uttar Pradesh Advocates Welfare Fund Trustee Committee, on completion of 30 years from the registration, about 5,848 advocates will be given a lump sum of Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. The proposal for amendment in section-13 of the Fund Act, 1974 has been approved.
  • At present, in the event of the session of the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature being adjourned indefinitely, the Council of Ministers has decided to get the proposed amendment done through an ordinance.
