First Tetrapack Plant To Be Set Up in Rohtak
Why in News?
- On May 11, 2022, Haryana's Cooperation Minister Dr. Banwari Lal informed that Haryana's first Tetrapack plant for packing liquid milk, fruit juices and fermented milk products would be set up in Rohtak.
Key Points
- This plant, which will be set up at a cost of Rs 125 crore, will enable long-term storage of liquid products and keep them safe. Rohtak Vita Plant currently has a production capacity of 4.5 lakh liters per day.
- Dr. Banwari Lal, after laying the foundation stone of butter deep freezer to be set up at a cost of Rs 5.5 crore at Vita Plant, Rohtak, said that one thousand metric tonnes of butter can be saved due to the installation of butter deep freezer for white butter storage in Vita plant.
- This plant supplies milk, Vita Ghee, Vita Butter, Curd, Namkeen Lassi, Buttermilk, Paneer and Barfi etc. as well as Vita Ghee and Milk to the Indian Army and children under Mid-Day-Mid Meal, Anganwadi Scheme and Sports Schemes. To meet the milk demand of the players, sweet flavored milk powder is also being supplied.
- A target has also been set to establish a new SFSMP plant in this plant at a cost of Rs 4 crore.
- On this occasion, he also informed that along with sugar, jaggery and sugar are being produced in Palwal, Kaithal and Meham cooperative sugar mills. At the same time, an ethanol plant has been started at Shahabad Sugar Mill.
