Cabinet Meeting in Ayodhya Proposals Promoting Religion and Culture Approved

Why In News?
Many proposals promoting religion and culture have been approved in the cabinet meeting held in Ayodhya on November 9, 2023, under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

  • Key Points
    In the cabinet meeting, approval was given for the formation of 'Ayodhya Ji Teerth Kshetra Development Council', 'Maa Pateshwari Devi Patan Development Council' and 'Shuktirtha Development Council' in Muzaffarnagar.
    The following other proposals were approved in the cabinet meeting-
    Approval has been given to the proposal to establish the Museum of Indian Temple Architecture on 25 acres of land in Majha Jamthara village of Ayodhya.
    The proposal to expand and establish Ayodhya Research Institute as International Ramayana Vedic Research Institute was approved.
    Approval has been given to provincialize the Makar Sankranti and Basant Panchami fairs held every year in Ayodhya, the Kartik Purnima Snan fair of Anupshahr in Bulandshahr and the Lakkhi fair of Hathras, Shri Dauji Maharaj. The government will bear the expenses incurred in arranging these fairs.
    The proposal for formation of Uttar Pradesh Inland Waterways Authority and provincialization of Dev Diwali celebration in Banaras has also been approved.
    The proposal has been approved for women voluntary groups in the state to set up plants in their own blocks.
    Drone policy has been approved.
    The proposal regarding implementing the rules at the state level has been approved.
    The proposal to convene the winter session from November 28 has been approved.

Unique Initiative of Students: Will Create a World Record by Carving 200 Idols of Mahakal Lok in Pictures.

Why In News?

According to the information received from the media on November 9, 2023, 15 students of Faguni Fine Arts Center are going to create a world record by painting 200 idols made in Mahakal Lok located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, which will be started through live painting performance in ISKCON temple.

Key Points:

  • Here these students first took a picture of the idol of Ganpatiji made in the main gate of Mahakal Loka, after this they carved the Dash avatar of Lord Vishnu through pictures.
  • 15 students of Faguni Fine Arts Center brought alive the Dash avatar of Lord Vishnu through live painting performance in ISKCON temple. Here, these students depicted all the incarnations of Lord Vishnu on earth including Shri Ram, Krishna, Vaman through painting.
  • Among the students, Richa Dodiya, Anshu Wadia, Bhavarth Chaudhary, Arya Jat, Raju Pushpad, Geeta Anand, Kanak Alwani, Aryan Jagdale, Mukul Arya, Pranendra Rathore, Harshal Pachori, Harshika Dhakad, Sheetal Mewada displayed their art.

Chief Minister Inaugurates Water Sports Activities at Hathnikund Barrage

Why In News?

On November 8, 2023, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal started water riding and boating in Yamuna at Hathnikund Barrage located on Yamuna River in Yamunanagar district.

Key Points:

  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that due to tourism, such activities can be increased in many areas in Haryana. In terms of tourism, there are many possibilities down the hill from Kalesar to Kalka, such as one can visit various places like Adi Badri, Lohgarh, Trilokpur Devi Temple through foot trekking, cycle trekking and motorcycle etc.
  • In Haryana too, a park is being built on Hathnikund Barrage to increase people's interest in tourism. This park is named after the former Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
  • It is worth mentioning that the Jungle Safari Project will be built on about 10 thousand acres in the area of Gurugram and Nuhan districts. It will start soon.
  • The Chief Minister said that the fresh head was smaller earlier. After that Hathnikund Barrage was built, but due to excess water, a 50-meter-high dam was built in Kalesar. People of Haryana, Himachal, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh will get direct benefits from this dam.
  • This project is the meeting point of 4 states. There will be a possibility of tourism here and the water needs of all four states can be met. Electricity can also be generated through this. Rajasthan and Delhi will also be able to benefit from this.

9th India International Science Festival will be organized in Faridabad

Why In News?

On November 8, 2023, Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal informed that the 9th India International Science Festival will be organized by the Department of Science Technology, Government of India at Regional Biotechnology Centre, Faridabad from January 17 to 20, 2024 to promote science interest among students.

Key Points:

  • About 12 thousand students from various schools and colleges across the country will participate in the International Science Festival.
  • International research and advancements in the field of science will be discussed in detail in the International Science Festival.
  • During Amrit Kaal, the latest developments in the field of science and technology innovation in New India will be showcased.
  • Apart from lectures on various scientific subjects, exhibitions will be organized in this festival, which will run for four consecutive days. In this, 35 students from every district of Haryana from class 8 to 11 will display their models on science.

POMS India Chapter Conference 2023

Why In News?

On November 9, 2023, Father S. George, Director of XLRI, an educational institute located in Jamshedpur in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, said that POMS India Chapter Conference-2023 will be organized in XLRI from December 4 to 6.

  • Apart from India, more than 300 representatives from USA, UK, China, Colombia and Canada are participating in this three-day international conference.
  • In this conference, representatives of almost all the IITs, IIMs, ISB as well as all the business schools of the country are participating, who will present their views on the theme of future vision for sustainable development.
  • Around 160 papers will be presented during this period. Along with promoting collaboration between scholars and industry experts in this field, the focus will be on how major positive changes can be made at the global level through innovation.
  • XLRI Director Father S. George said that this international conference is very important not only in terms of supply chain management but also in terms of environmental protection. The conference serves as a global platform for academicians, researchers & practitioners to exchange insights and strategies in production & operations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • This time, ways to achieve carbon neutrality, increase ESG in supply chain management, ways to deal with crises in supply chain management as well as solutions to various problems through advanced technology will also be discussed.

Chief Minister Made Many Announcements on Uttarakhand Foundation Day

Why In News?

  • On November 9, 2023, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made several announcements regarding the implementation of new policies in the state in a program organized on the occasion of State Foundation Day at the Police Lines in Dehradun.

Key Points:

  • The Chief Minister said that the women's policy has been ready. It will be implemented soon.
  • He also announced 'Mukhyamantri Kanya Samajik Vivah Yojana' for needy families and said that the government will start this scheme to provide necessary assistance to the needy families. Such events will be organized at the district level. All these arrangements will be made by the state government.
  • The Chief Minister announced to prepare a specific action plan for the eradication of child labor with the coordination of all departments. The government will soon work on this action plan to secure the future of Devbhoomi.
  • To make Uttarakhand drug free by the year 2025, we will also start a Drug Free Village and Drug Free City Scheme. Under this, special incentives will be given to the identified areas.
  • On this occasion, President Draupadi Murmu honored four personalities of the state, Madhuri Barthwal, Basanti Bisht, Sachchidanand Bharatiya and Rajendra Singh Bisht, with 'Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman' for their excellent service in various fields.

State First Yoga Policy Proposal

Why In News?

On November 9, 2023, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, AYUSH Secretary of Uttarakhand, said that the proposal for the first yoga policy of the state has been prepared. The government may soon approve this policy.

Key Points:

  • Under this policy, the government will provide financial incentives for setting up yoga, spiritual and naturopathy centers in the state.
  • According to the tourism policy, a provision is being made to give 50 percent subsidy on investment in yoga and spiritual facilities in selected hilly areas in B & C category. Apart from this, five percent additional subsidy will be given under the AYUSH policy.
  • The Ayurveda and Unani department will be nodal to implement this policy. Investment proposals will be approved through a single window system.
  • The state government is trying to make Uttarakhand an international yoga hub. Therefore, every year the International Yoga Festival is organized in Rishikesh by the Tourism Department.
  • It should be noted that till now there was no policy to develop basic facilities of Yoga in the state.
