  • Sagar Kumar and Sankalp Kumar, students of Loyola School, East Singhbhum, have developed a technology to convert used and waste plastic into useful material.
  • A team of students from Loyola School, Jamshedpur has developed a 3D printer that can make useful items from plastic bottles thrown in the garbage. This 3D printer first cuts plastic bottles with the help of a machine and turns them into fine fibers, then molds this fiber and makes useful items from the 3D printer. This project is a creative way of waste management.
  • IIT ISM's Naresh Vashishtha Center for Innovation and Tinkering (NVCTI) will assist in the marketing of this product.
  • In the competition, the team of Mahendra Muni Saraswati Vidya Mandir of Madhupur in Deoghar district stood second and the team of Hill Top School of Jamshedpur stood third.
  • Along with this, consolation prizes were given to the teams of DBMS English School, Jamshedpur and SDSM School, Jamshedpur, which stood fourth and fifth respectively.

  • Aman Kumar said that the idea of developing it came to him because of the fire that broke out in a school in Deoghar four-five months ago. All three started working together on this project about two months ago. The entire cost of developing this drone is Rs 14 thousand. 2200 mAh battery has been used in it. It supplies power to the drone.
  • The team (Aarush Kumar, Darshil Tripathi and Siddharth Singh) from Hill Top Public School, Jamshedpur has developed the Khet Rakshak App to help farmers. This app will tell in time when locusts are going to attack the crops in the fields. With this, farmers can stop locust attacks by using pesticides in their fields in time.

Odisha-Jharkhand Expressway

Why In News?

According to the information received from the media on September 9, 2023, the DPR of the expressway to be built from Littibeda in Odisha to Sithio (Ring Road) in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi has been prepared. Total 147 km. A long expressway is to be built, which will be a completely green corridor.

  • A corridor will be constructed for the passage of wild animals, elephants etc. To prevent wild animals from coming on the road, an eight feet high guardwall will be built. Many measures are being taken regarding security.
  • Work is to be done in three phases in Jharkhand. In the first phase, work of about 30.35 km is to be done from Keriya to Kyondapani. In the second phase, 43.7 km from Kyondapani to Latra and in the third phase, about 47 km from Latra to Sithio (Ranchi). The work will be done.
  • At the same time, in Odisha, the road will be built in two phases from Litebada to Jamtoli (Keria) via Zoram.

Chief Minister Paid Rs 23.93 Crore to the Beneficiaries of 'Godhan Nyay Yojana'

On September 9, 2023, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel transferred Rs 23 crore 93 lakh from the Chief Minister's Residence Office to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries in the online distribution program under 'Godhan Nyaya Yojana'.

  • In the amount transferred online to the accounts of the beneficiaries of 'Godhan Nyay Yojana', Rs 5.36 crore was given to cow dung sellers, Rs 1.63 crore to Gothan committees and Rs 1.14 crore to self-help groups, along with Rs 12.32 crore to self-help groups. This includes an additional incentive amount of Rs 1.23 crore to cooperative societies and an honorarium amount of Rs 2.25 crore to the chairpersons and members of self-reliant Gothan committees.
  • After payment of Rs 29 crore 93 lakh to the beneficiaries under Godhan Nyay Yojana, a total of Rs 581.24 crore has been paid so far.
  • Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel made online payment of Rs 5.36 crore to cow dung sellers in lieu of 2.68 lakh quintals of cow dung purchased from August 15 to August 31 in Gothans. So far, 133.22 quintals of cow dung has been purchased in Gothans, in return for which Rs 261.08 crore has been paid to animal husbandry farmers. After payment of Rs 5.36 crore, the total amount of cow dung purchase has become Rs 266.44 crore.
  • After the amount of Rs 2.77 crore paid to Gothan committees and women self-help groups, the amount to be paid to them has increased to Rs 275.01 crore.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced a total of Rs 12 crore 32 lakh on the sale of compost to the self-help groups involved in the production of compost from cow dung at the rate of Re 1 per kilogram and a total of Rs 1 crore 23 to the cooperative societies at the rate of 10 paise per kg. Lakh rupees were released online as an incentive amount. The Chief Minister transferred Rs 2 crore 25 lakh as honorarium to 42 thousand 644 members of self-reliant Gothans in their bank accounts.
  • It is noteworthy that under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, the participation of self-reliant Gothan committees in the matter of cow dung procurement is continuously increasing. Out of 10288 Gothans built and operated in the state, 6252 Gothans have become self-reliant, and are purchasing cow dung from cow dung sellers with their own funds. Self-reliant Gothans have so far purchased cow dung worth Rs 76 crore 42 lakh with their own money.
  • The Chief Minister said that by purchasing cow urine at the rate of four rupees per liter in Gothans, the women of women self-help groups are preparing Brahmastra and Jeevamrut from it, which is being made available to the farmers at concessional rates. Farmers have now started using organic pesticides Brahmastra and Jeevamrut instead of expensive pesticides.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the state government has made a record in paddy procurement every year. This year it is expected that 125 lakh metric paddy will be purchased.

As of now, the fire service does not have a modern fleet of vehicles so that inaccessible places can be easily reached with less risk.
  • For this, recently a proposal for purchase of two ATV vehicles from the fire service was sent to the government. The government has not taken any decision on this, but now the police have got new hope from the World Bank budget. The World Bank can soon approve the budget for this. The price of each vehicle will be around Rs 75 lakh.
  • It is noteworthy that recently the National Disaster Management Authority has also recommended ATVs for hilly places. Along with this, the Government of India has also asked all the hilly states to purchase such vehicles, so that people's lives can be saved by reaching narrow roads easily and quickly.
  • These vehicles will also have the facility of carrying water to extinguish the fire, that is, along with carrying the soldiers for rescue, these vehicles will also do the work of extinguishing the fire.
  • To reduce the risk of life in extinguishing fires, the fire service will soon take the help of robots. Approval for this was given last year. Now tenders for the purchase of two robots have also been issued by the fire service. Bids have been invited from vendors till September 20. After the completion of the tender process, modern robots will join the fire service fleet.

  • Recently, Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra has asked to implement it in all districts and divisions. With this, file files in district collectorates and other government offices will be digitized. Through this, the work of government personnel will also be monitored.
  • District Magistrate will be able to monitor any file and with this, the work of sending files from districts to the government will be done faster.
  • Hundred percent e-office system has been implemented in 93 departments of the Secretariat. So far 8654 files have been issued through e-office. So far, e-office has been implemented in 46 out of 150 Head of Department offices and work is being done accordingly.
  • This system has been implemented in only 35 out of 90 offices and departments related to the police, in which 8181 files have been issued so far. Currently, this system has not been implemented at any divisional level.

  • What is the Ramsar site?
  • Ramsar sites are declared wetlands that meet international standards. Collaboration is done by other organizations of the world including UNESCO to conserve and promote the wetlands declared as Ramsar sites of the world. The Wetlands Conference was held in Ramsar, Iran in 1971. Many countries signed the treaty, in which India was also included.

  • Through Indira Rasoi Yojana operated in urban areas, poor and needy people are getting nutritious food with respect in a convenient environment for just Rs 8. All sections of people including students and workers are getting the benefit of this scheme. In this era of inflation, it is proving to be a boon for the students and employees coming from outside and every needy person.

  • The time limit of the special recruitment drive to fill the backlog/carry forward posts of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Persons with Disabilities has been extended by one year from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024, by the Council of Ministers. .
  • The Council of Ministers has approved doubling of the monthly honorarium given to guest teachers. The honorarium currently received by Class-1 has been increased from Rs 9,000 to Rs 18,000, the honorarium of Class-2 has been increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 14,000 and the honorarium of Class-3 has been increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.
  • Council of Ministers for relief and rehabilitation of the victims of mob lynching and their dependents in the state. It has been decided to implement Mob Lynching Victim Compensation Scheme 2023.
  • Under this scheme, the crime of mob lynching involves causing harm or harm to any person or persons on the basis of religion, caste, sex, place of birth, language, food, sexual orientation, political affiliation, ethnicity or other such ground or grounds by a crowd of five or more persons. Any act or series of acts of violence capable of causing harm is included.
