Millet Mission Launched
Why in News
- On September 10, 2021 the Chhattisgarh state government formally launched the 'Millet Mission' with the aim of making the state a millet hub.
- Under this mission, the Indian Institute of Millet Research (IIMR), Hyderabad signed MoUs with 14 districts of the state.
Key Points
- Under the mission, MoUs were signed between IIMR and Kanker, Kondagaon, Bastar, Dantewada, Bijapur, Sukma, Narayanpur, Rajnandgaon, Kawardha, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Balrampur, Koriya, Surajpur and Jashpur districts of the state.
- Under the mission, farmers will get the right price for small grain crops, input support expertise of experts.
- IIMR will provide technical know-how, high quality seeds, assistance and training to the farmers in setting up seed banks.
- Millet Mission will increase the income of farmers in the forest area and tribal areas of the state and will also give a new identity to Chhattisgarh.

Governor's Award to the Students of Scout-Guide
Why in News
- On September 10, 2021 under the leadership of State Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides Chhattisgarh and Parliamentary Secretary Vinod Sewalal Chandrakar, the State Award decoration ceremony was organized at Governor's Durbar Hall, Raipur.
Key Points
- Scouts Dev Narayan Neti, Rajkamal Gupta, Rajnish Kumar Singh, Suryadev Kushwaha of Balrampur district were honored with Governor's certificate by Governor Anusuiya Uikey in this award ceremony.
- For the first time, the children of Balrampur district have been honored with the Governor's Award due to the continuous efforts of B.Ekka, Education Officer of Balrampur district and all the officials of Scout-Guide.
- Scout-Guide District Organization Commissioner Jaipal Vishwakarma said that the Scout-Guide has always been honored by the government-administration for his excellent work and like this year, effort will be made for coming years also so that the students of Scout-Guide will get honored with the Governor's Award in the coming years.
