National Award for Innovation in Educational Administration

Why in News?

  • On February 10, 2022, the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIPA), New Delhi under the Ministry of Education, Government of India has awarded six officers of the Education Department of Madhya Pradesh with the National Award for innovation in educational administration.

Key Points

  • For this honor, Neepa have selected then DPC of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Gopal Singh Baghel (Seoni), then DPC RS Tiwari (Harda), then DPC Kamal Kumar Nagar (Rajgarh), Shoaib Khan BRCC (Mandsaur), Ramanuj Sharma BEO/BRCC (Alirajpur) and Praveen Chandra Upadhyay BRCC (Mandla) from Madhya Pradesh.
  • All these officers participated in the virtual honor ceremony held in New Delhi. Union Minister of State for Education Subhash Sarkar presented digital citations.

Baby Feeding Center in Gwalior

Why in News?

  • On February 10, 2022, the Vice Chancellor of Jiwaji University Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), Prof. Avinash Tiwari and Registrar Dr. Sushil Manderia launched the first baby feeding center 'Dular' in the university.

Key Points

  • Jiwaji University has become the first university in the state to make this unique initiative.
  • Vice Chancellor Prof. Avinash Tiwari said that after understanding the sensations of mother and child coming during the examination, instructions have been given to make this feeding center in the examination hall itself.
  • This feeding center has been named 'Dular'.

Workshop on Institutional Development Plan (IDP) for Higher Education Institute

Why in News?

  • On February 10, 2022, a one-day workshop on 'Institutional Development Plan for Higher Education Institution' was organized in Bhopal under the joint aegis of Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission and Vidya Bharati Institute of Higher Education.

Key Points

  • There were three technical sessions in this workshop. In the first session the concept and need of Institutional Development Plan for higher education institutions was discussed, the second session was based on the institute campus design and space planning and in the third session the essentials of an ideal IDP were discussed.
  • On this occasion, Secretary, University Grants Commission, Rajnish Jain said that the Institutional Development Plan (IDP) is very important and necessary for academic quality and excellence. This is the vision document of IDP Education.
  • The University Grants Commission has prepared the Institutional Development Plan (IDP). This allows educational institutions to improve their goals and infrastructure. The IDP will also help in increasing the Gross Enrollment Rate of Higher Education.
  • The basic objective of the Institutional Development Scheme is to make students a successful citizen by improving the quality and infrastructure of educational institutions. In the National Policy on Education, it will be mandatory for every educational institution to prepare an institutional development plan.
  • It is noteworthy that for the first time such a workshop has been organized in the country on Institutional Development Plan for higher education institutions.
