Why in News?
- On February 10, 2022, during the meeting of the State Level Approval and Monitoring Committee of 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Housing for All Mission (Urban)' chaired by Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh Amitabh Jain, the construction of 12 thousand 60 houses in the state was approved. .
Key Points
- In the meeting, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain directed the officers to determine the priority basis for allotment of houses under the scheme.
- Under the Housing for All (Urban) Mission, 12060 houses will be constructed in the state at a cost of Rs 374 crore 93 lakh 12 thousand. The cost of each house will be Rs 3.05 lakh.
- It is noteworthy that the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Housing for All Mission' has been implemented by the Central Government for urban areas Since June 2015.

Notification of Reservation of 10 Percent Plot in industrial areas for OBCs
Why in News?
- Recently, the Department of Commerce and Industry of Chhattisgarh issued a notification amending Industrial Policy '2019-24' to reserve 10 percent plots for Other Backward Classes in industrial areas and to provide them at 10 percent rate of land premium rate and 1 percent land rent'.
Key Points
- On the occasion of 73rd Republic Day, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced to reserve 10 percent land for OBCs in industrial areas and 10 percent land premium rate and 1 percent land to promote entrepreneurship among OBC citizens.
- The period of reservation will be for two years from the appointed date or the date of establishment of the industrial area, whichever is later.
- The quantity of plot/land will be as per the eligibility rules and provisions mentioned in 'Chhattisgarh Industrial Land and Building Management Rules-2015'. These amendments shall be deemed to have come into force from the date of issue of this notification.
