Best Performing Districts Rewarded For Improving Sex Ratio

Why in News

  • Haryana Minister of State for Women and Child Development Kamlesh Dhanda honored Rohtak, Charkhi Dadri and Jind districts for their better performance in improving the sex ratio in a program organized in Panchkula on the occasion of International Women's Day.

Key Points

  • Minister Kamlesh Dhanda honored district Rohtak for the first, Charkhi Dadri second and Jind for the third prize by giving Rs 5 lakh, Rs 3 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively and a citation.
  • Apart from this, he also honored the winners of Poshan Puraskar, 2021-22. District Mewat was awarded Rs. 2 lakh for securing first position, Rs. 1 lakh to Faridabad for securing second position and Rs. 50 thousand to district Palwal for securing third position and citation.
  • Suman of Yamunanagar was honored by giving 'Behen Shanno Devi Panchayati Raj Award' of Rs 1 lakh.
  • Apart from this, 46 talents were honored in sports, social sector, worker working in Anganwadi center, women entrepreneur category and government employee category.
  • Earlier, Kamlesh Dhanda launched a poster based on nutrition on behalf of the Department of Women and Child Development.

Natural Agriculture Board

Why in News

  • On March 8, 2022, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said in Kurukshetra that the State Government has decided to constitute a Natural Agriculture Board with the objective of promoting natural farming and providing facilities to the farmers for this farming.

Key Points

  • The Chief Minister said that natural farming would be promoted to rid the people of the state from poisonous products and to save the health of the land.
  • A provision of Rs 32 crore has been made in the budget by the State Government for the formation of Natural Agriculture Board.
  • The Chief Minister said that work has also been done to give a concrete shape to the 3-year production-based plan for natural farming. Under this scheme 100 clusters will be formed and 25 acres of land in each cluster will also be linked with natural farming.
  • After this, the work of certification, branding and then packaging will be done. Along with this, if the farmers suffer losses due to natural farming, then the amount of compensation will be provided by the government.
