'Handlooms and Handicrafts' Exhibition

On September 7, 2021, Chhattisgarh's Village Industries Minister Guru Rudrakumar inaugurated a seven-day handloom and handicrafts exhibition at Satnam Bhawan, located in Bhilai, Durg district. The exhibition will run till September 13.

- The exhibition is being organized by the District Handloom Office, Durg.
- In this exhibition, Dhokra handicrafts, iron crafts, wood crafts, bamboo crafts, tattoo crafts, shisal crafts, terracotta crafts, murals, stone crafts, cowry crafts, tumba crafts, including traditional textiles of the states prepared by weavers and craftsmen.
- Stalls have been set up for handloom textiles like kosa silk, tussar silk, cotton dress material, saris, dupattas, chadars, bedsheets and khadi textiles and materials manufactured by village industries.
- The artefacts of Janjgir made from paddy straw, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Mahavir Swami and Ganeshji's attractive artefacts made of paddy straw, are prominent among the various artefacts in the stalls set up in different districts in the exhibition.
- On this occasion, Guru Rudrakumar appreciated all the handloom textile and handicraft art stalls and described it as a medium to keep our culture and civilization alive.
- He said that people associated with village industries get direct benefits from such events and a better market is also available for their art and the products made by them. This helps the artisans and craftsmen to express their expression through art and encourages them and they work with double zeal.

'Mor Jimmedari' Campaign

On September 7, 2021, Chhattisgarh's Health and Family Welfare Minister T.S. Singhdeo launched the awareness campaign 'Mor Jimmedari' in collaboration with other voluntary organizations including UNICEF and Ekta Parishad.

- On this occasion, Minister Singhdev flagged off the Mor Jimmedari Awareness Rath to motivate the people of the state towards covid behavior and vaccination.
- Singhdeo said that the campaign to make people aware of 100 percent vaccination and corona behavior in the state by UNICEF, Ekta Parishad and other allied organizations is a commendable initiative.
- Through UNICEF, their volunteers will go door-to-door in 600 inaccessible villages of 20 districts of the state to make people aware about the prevention of Kovid vaccination and infection.
- He appealed to all eligible people to get Covid vaccine for protection and control from Corona. Volunteers including UNICEF's Chhattisgarh Head Job Jakaria, Ekta Parishad's Ramesh Sharma were present in the program.
