Rajasthan Film Tourism Promotion Policy-2022

Why In News?

In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on 6th April, 2022, the Rajasthan Film Tourism Promotion Policy-2022 was approved with the aim of developing Rajasthan as a film destination.

Key Points

  • This decision of the cabinet will encourage film shooting in the state. This will promote the preservation of art and culture along with creation of employment in various fields related to films, and through films, the tourist places of Rajasthan will be promoted in the country and the world.
  • It is noteworthy that Rajasthan has been a favorite state for national and international filmmakers. Filmmakers are eager to shoot the film at various locations including the world famous fort-palaces, havelis, deserts, sanctuaries here.
  • Through this policy, provisions for financial assistance, awards and cash prizes have been proposed to encourage film production in Rajasthani language.
  • Along with this, it has also been proposed to give financial benefits and grants to domestic and foreign filmmakers for shooting in Rajasthan.

Important decisions of Rajasthan cabinet

Why In News?

On April 6, 2022, in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, other important decisions were taken including formation of Public Financial Management Training Society and formation of cadre of Vice-Principals in Government Higher Secondary Schools.

Key Points

  • In the meeting, free IPD and OPD treatment schemes in all government medical institutions including sub-health centre, primary health centre, community health centre, sub-district hospital, district hospital and medical college were named 'Mukhyamantri Free Nirogi Rajasthan Yojana'.
  • It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had announced to provide free IPD and OPD treatment in all government medical institutions of the state in the budget of this financial year.
  • The Cabinet has decided to set up a Public Financial Management Training Society. Best in class Public Financial Management and Training Institute will be run by this Society.
  • This will make the capacity of government officials-employees and other stakeholders in the state more comprehensive. This society will be registered under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act, 1958.
  • The cabinet has approved the Rajasthan Educational (State and Subordinate) Service Rules (Second Amendment), 2022. With this, a cadre of the post of Vice-Principal (Level-14) can be established to improve the smooth operation and supervision of educational work in Government Higher Secondary Schools.
  • The Cabinet has approved the amendment in the Rajasthan District Court Clerk Establishment Rules-1986 (Rule 7-C). The decision of the Cabinet will provide more clarity and breadth to the expression 'outstanding sports person' as prescribed in this rule, thereby providing better opportunities to the eligible sportspersons.
  • The Cabinet has decided to appoint Rajasthan State Road Development and Construction Corporation as the executive agency for the construction of the Mini Secretariat at Sri Ganganagar.

Rajasthan ranks second in rooftop solar

Why In News?

On April 6, 2022, Additional Chief Secretary Energy and Chairman, Rajasthan Dr. Subodh Agrawal told in the review meeting of the officers of Renewable Energy Corporation that according to the report released by the Central Government on February 22, Rajasthan has been second after Gujarat in the implementation of rooftop solar scheme.

Key Points

  • It is worth mentioning that Rajasthan is already on the first rank in solar energy by developing 10 GW solar power capacity. Rajasthan continues to be a leading state in the implementation of Kusum Yojana to install solar systems on barren land.
  • Dr. Agrawal informed that 748 MW capacity has been developed in the state in rooftop solar. Rooftop solar scheme has been implemented in a planned manner by Renewable Energy Corporation of India.
  • To make the rooftop solar scheme more simple, now instead of the state portal, registration can be done on the national portal. Similarly, for installation of rooftop systems, now MNRE empaneled vendors will have the facility to install the system at their own level.
  • Initially the beneficiary himself will have to bear the cost of installing a rooftop solar system and then the grant amount will be released directly to the beneficiary.
  • Along with this, under the new simplified system, the beneficiary will be free to set up a government empaneled vendor or the system of their own choice. There will be no compulsion on the beneficiary to install any Mac specific system or vendor specific system.

Madhya Pradesh tops in Brucella vaccination

Why In News?

On April 6, 2022, Madhya Pradesh Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Prem Singh Patel informed that Madhya Pradesh is at first place in the whole country in Brucella vaccination program run under National Animal Disease Control Program.

Key Points

  • Under the National Animal Disease Control Program, Brucella vaccination program was run in the state from January 1 to March 31, 2022. In this, 4 to 8 months old cow-buffalo calves were vaccinated. Madhya Pradesh has registered 17 lakh 41 thousand 970 vaccination information on the ENOF portal, which is the highest in the nation.
  • Apart from this, UID tags have been installed on 2 crore 76 lakh 63 thousand 968 bovine cattle in the state. Their registration has also been done on the eNOF portal. This number is also the highest in the country.
  • It is noteworthy that under the National Animal Disease Control Program in the country, Brucella vaccination program is being implemented in all the states.
  • Brucellosis disease is a reproductive disease of buffalo cattle, caused by the bacterium Brucellosis abortus. Symptoms include fever, late pregnancy abortion, sterility, heat delay, loss of calves due to interruption of lactation, and decreased milk production.
  • By vaccinating 4 to 8 month old cow-buffalo calves once in their lifetime, they can be protected from Brucellosis disease. The disease also spreads from animals to humans. The effect of this disease can cause fertility problems in both men and women. In the absence of any treatment, this disease can be prevented only by vaccination.

Cabinet approves proposal to give three state police awards

Why In News?

5 The proposal for giving three State Police Awards was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on April, 2022. Among these, 'Chief Minister-Padak' for gallantry, 'Home Minister-Padak' for excellence in investigation and 'Haryana Police Uttam Seva-Padak' for doing other good work will be given.

Key Points

  • The Chief Minister's Medal for Gallantry will be awarded to all rank officers and employees of the Haryana Police who are involved in saving life and property or preventing crime or arresting criminals, facing hardcore criminals, controlling mass movement, Will play a vital role in preventing and managing large scale law and order disturbances or for anticipating risk, above normal duty and displaying exceptional and distinguished acts of exceptional bravery.
  • The Home Minister's medal for excellent investigation will be awarded to those officers and employees, who use innovative, scientific methods of investigation, forensic and online investigation tools, play a special role in proving the guilty by speedy filing of charge sheet. .
  • This will help in maintaining high standards of crime investigation in the state and promote high standards of professionalism among the police force. Not only this, the rate of punishment of the guilty will increase, which will benefit the society.
  • Haryana Police Uttam Seva Medal will be awarded to those officers and employees of the police who are involved in law and order, IT technology, traffic management, administrative work in police stations, community policing and all other jobs of Police Department or through record-keeping and housekeeping.
  • For this, those policemen will also be eligible, who not only help in making policy decisions, but who have not yet been recognized for any formal award or reward.
  • A one-time cash prize of Rs 21,000 along with a medal, scroll, a certificate signed by the Chief Minister and the Home Minister will be carried on the uniform of the officers and employees to be awarded these medals with a color display above the left pocket.
  • In addition, for Group-B and C police officers, there will be an extension of six months in their service after retirement (if they are not availing any other extension in service). The number of medals in a calendar year shall not exceed 10 in each category.

MoU between State Government and TSF for skill development of youth

Why In News?

On 6th April, 2022, the State Government has signed a memorandum of understanding with Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) to set up Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Chandil in Seraikela-Kharsawan district with the objective of skill development of more and more youth of the State and making them industry ready.

Key Points

  • The MoU was signed by Saurav Roy (Chief, Corporate Social Responsibility, Tata Steel) and Satyanand Bhokta (Minister, Department of Labour, Employment, Training and Skill Development).
  • The ITI to be set up at Chandil will provide training in technical and vocational courses with an initial capacity of 100 students and will start from the 2023 academic session.
  • The aim is to make it a platform where local youth can take advantage of employment opportunities and fulfill their dream of contributing significantly to the income of their family.
  • TSF's focus will be on reaching out to the marginalized communities, especially in the tribal areas, where the youth acquire specialized skills, right knowledge and know-how to apply them.
  • Significantly, this is the third ITI institute of Tata Steel Foundation in Jharkhand. The other two institutes are ITI Tamar and ITI Jagannathpur.

C-Mart launched in Kawardha

Why In News?

On April 6, 2022, Chhattisgarh's Forest and Climate Change Minister and Kawardha MLA Mohammad Akbar launched the virtual C-Mart in Kawardha.

  • On the lines of big cities like Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg-Bhilai, C-Mart has been established in Kawardha.
  • It is noteworthy that the state government is setting up C-Mart with the aim of providing a platform to sell the products manufactured by the women's group under one roof and to make women self-reliant.
  • Women groups of Kawardha district can bring their goods to C-Mart for sale. The National Urban Livelihoods Mission (Nagar Palika Parishad, Kawardha) has provided a loan amount of Rs 10 lakh through Canara Bank Kawardha.
  • This C-Mart will be operated by Deepanjali Mahila Self-Help Group Kawardha. In C-Mart, items made by women of Deepanjali Mahila Self-Help Group and items of daily use will be sold.
  • Here, other items including Badi, Bijori, Sevai, Potato Chips, Masala, Haldi, Mirchi, Gobar Gamla, Rice Flour, Dalia, Wheat Flour, Papad, Murku, Phenyl, prepared by women will be sold.
