Three Teachers of Uttar Pradesh honoured with National Teacher’s Award

Why In News?

On September 5, 2023, President Draupadi Murmu honored three teachers from Uttar Pradesh with the National Teacher’s Award 2023 at a ceremony organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on Teachers' Day.

  • It is noteworthy that President Draupadi Murmu awarded the National Teacher’s Award for the year 2023 to a total of 75 selected teachers from across the country at a function organized at Vigyan Bhavan.
  • In this teacher's felicitation ceremony, all the award-winning teachers were given Rs 50,000 in cash, citation, shawl, quince.
  • This year, three teachers from Uttar Pradesh were selected for the National Teacher’s Award, who were honored by the President. The honored teachers include Sudhanshu Shekhar Panda, principal of K.N. International School, Meerut, Chandra Prakash Agarwal of Bulandshahr and Ashiya Farooqi of Fatehpur.
  • It is known that Chandra Prakash Agarwal has done the work of bringing the name of Bulandshahr district into the limelight in the entire country including Uttar Pradesh in the field of education. Shiv Kumar Janta Inter College is Bulandshahr's first hi-tech school and here girls are given free education. The contribution of this school in the field of education is the best in the whole of Bulandshahr. Aryabhata Astronomical School has been established in the school, in which students are given information about astronomical knowledge.
  • Ashiya Farooqi, teacher of primary school Asti of Fatehpur Nagar area, rejuvenated the school on the basis of innovation. Conducting five classes alone, through joyful learning, created interest in education among children. As a result, the number of children registered in the school reached 250 in three years.

94 Teachers of the State got State Teacher’s Award

Why In News?

On September 5, 2023, on the occasion of Teacher's Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave State Teacher’s Awards to 94 teachers of Basic Education Department and Secondary Education Department for doing special work in their field in a program organized at Lok Bhawan.

  • The teachers who received the State Teacher’s Award include 75 teachers of the Basic Education Council and 19 teachers of the Secondary Education Department.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced distribution of tablets to more than 02 lakh 09 thousand teachers of primary schools, establishment of smart labs in 18,381 upper primary schools and Kasturba Gandhi Girls Schools and 880 ITCs. Labs was also inaugurated.

20 Teachers of Bihar received State Teacher’s Award

Why In News?

On September 5, 2023, Education Minister of Bihar, Prof. Chandrashekhar presented State Teacher’s Awards to 20 government teachers in Patna. Seven women teachers are among the 20 government teachers selected for the State Teacher’s Award.

Key Points:

  • This felicitation ceremony was held at Shri Krishna Memorial Hall, Patna, in which the teachers were given a check of Rs 15,000, costumes and mementos as prizes.
  • During the felicitation ceremony, the District Education Officers of the first three districts who deposited the maximum amount in the Director of Primary Education Teacher Welfare Fund were rewarded.
  • Poonam Sinha, principal of Government Girls Higher Secondary School of Patna district, Subir Banerjee, principal of Government Deaf-Mute Boys School and primary school teacher Neetu Shahi were honored.

  • Ravikant Mishra of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Bekar, Datia was awarded for making education simple and exciting using technology. He has taken several steps like teaching on his YouTube channel, taking live classes on PM e-Vidya national channels and creating awareness on important issues like health.
  • Seema Agnihotri of Cm Rise Government Vinoba Higher Secondary School, Ratlam was honoured for making teaching material enjoyable through information technology. To make education interesting, he has organized story reading competitions, newspaper writing, drama and dance competitions involving the community.

Haryana's Science Teacher Satyapal Singh honoured with National Teacher’s Award

  • Satyapal Singh, a resident of Rewari, was first posted as a science teacher in the Government High School of Tankari village in Rewari in the year 2002. At that time the school's laboratory was in a dilapidated condition. With his efforts, he made the laboratory the best laboratory and made the student proficient in science by conducting additional classes. While posting in Pranpura School, a village in Rewari, he also improved the lab there.
  • Satyapal Singh has also written books for students from class 3 to 8. Jharoka EVS books for classes 3, 4 and 5 are being taught all over Haryana. At the same time, he wrote a book of science modules from sixth to eighth grade, which was beneficial for students as well as teachers.
  • Apart from this, he has participated with students in 10 state level science exhibitions and national level science exhibitions. Under his guidance, 45 students have been selected for the National Resource and Merit Scholarship Test, i.e. NMMS. At the same time, 3 state-level science laboratories have been prepared by them at their own expense.
  • A chocolate app for teachers and children at SCERT was developed by him. Prepared video modules for Diksha App and SCERT. Apart from this, YouTube channels and videos were created for e-learning of students during the Kovid period.

17 Teachers of the state got Shailesh Matiyani Award

Why In News?

On September 5, 2023, Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh (Retd.) honored 17 teachers with the Shailesh Matiyani State Educational Award at Dehradun Raj Bhavan on the occasion of Teachers' Day.

  • The teachers awarded with Shailesh Matiyani State Educational Award include 10 teachers from elementary education, six from secondary and one from training institute.
  • In the program, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced to increase the prize money. He said that the amount of Shailesh Matiyani Award has been increased from Rs.10,000 to Rs.21,000.
  • It is known that the Shailesh Matiyani State Educational Award 2022 was announced by the Education Department in February this year, but the teachers selected for these awards could not be rewarded. Now these teachers were rewarded in a function organized at Raj Bhavan on Teachers' Day.
  • In elementary education, Asha Budakoti from Pauri district, Sanjay Kumar Kuksal from Uttarkashi, Usha Gaur from Dehradun, Sanjay Kumar from Haridwar, Uttam Singh Rana from Tehri, Ravish Chandra Pancholi from Champawat, Suresh Chandra Sati from Bageshwar, Ganga Arya from Pithoragarh and Nainital.   • In secondary education, Lokendrapal Singh from Uttarkashi, Sanjay Kumar from Dehradun, Damayanti Chand from Pithoragarh, Tribhuvan Chand from Bageshwar, Dr. Prabhakar Joshi from Almora, Nirmal Kumar from Udham Singh Nagar were awarded.
